There is more than what you eat and how much you exercise to how your body is built. The only bone thin person in my family is the niece that has Crohn's disease. Both of my sisters are on the GLP-1 shots. Neither is a swimsuit model after two years of it. Genetics has a lot to do with weight.
I'm (none of your business) pounds and near my top end of the weight history. This summer had a lot to do with that.
This summer was going to be one of exercise. doubling my walk distance. I'm not a gym rat, and hate gyms. I hate the Jock culture. Too many years of being bullied in that environment.
As I've aged, I've already reduced portions.
Back to what this summer was supposed to be: more exercise. However, the angry jelly that fled from my herniated disk in July had other plans. Two months of severely reduced activity took their toll, and added some pounds. Only about 10 at last measure. But it's 10 more I need to lose.
And when I'm in pain, I want comfort food. Not portioned-controlled rabbit food. Or starvation.
Just because I post a pic of an entire 12 or 14 inch pizza doesn't mean I eat my half. (Share with the wife) We usually get two meals each out of one pizza.
There are meals I don't post pics of. EG: Today, I had a 6oz sirloin, broccoli, and some fries for lunch. Often we have burgers or steaks or chicken breasts off the grill, usually with steamed sweet taters and a slice of cornbread.
My wife and I eat about the same amount every evening. She's less than half my weight. Skinny runs in her family.
Genetics matter.
My goal isn't to be skinny.
It's to be healthy.
I've just finished the book "Younger Forever" - it's a lot less preachy than the Younger Next Year that initially kicked off the series. I gave up on the first book (Younger Next Year) because of the way it preached instead of helped to encourage.
