Good morning gang!

I had to scrape the frost off of the windshield this morning, but they say 62° is coming! I can't wait til 2 when I can get out of here!

Got a new Choo Choo in the mail yesterday, will be unboxing and testing it later today. It doesn't fit my layout scheme, but it is a reminder of a very special time. Took me a year to find it, but it is home now. Stay tuned, pics coming.

Next weekend is the Scale Show at Timonium. I've got 2 tables there and 6 large plastic tubs full of "stuff" to sell. This week all the "stuff" gets priced to move. I really don't want to bring anything home but the tubs.

When I was single I was in a relationship with Marie Calendar, I haven't seen her since the wife arrived!

Why is everybody so definite?

I'm wondering why everyone is so defiant.

44°F out there at 0735. More of the same as the last week today. Small laundry load later and that's all that's on my plate for today.

Three more days of a half-dose of Metoprolol. So far, so good. No symptoms, and heart rate still hovering around 55-65 depending on time of day and what I'm doing.

Have a great Saturday...and don't be so defiant.

Servus!

Good morning from a household returning closer (not there yet) to normal. 52f degrees now 74 later as this string of beautiful days continues.

I feel better and Terry feels good. Medicals are scheduled for 2 days next week. Thursday and Friday for testing and doctor consults. After that it’s a trip starting Sunday 11/1 and then every other day for the next 5 weeks.

I went out yesterday to vote and then went with the grandson and purchased 2 more hockey sticks. He’s grown and he busted one at practice Thursday. His 1st game as a AA bantam is against Minnesota teams in Winona, Mn on Sunday. Its a decently good old railroad town on the Mississippi River though I prefer Red Wing north up the river about an hour driving. Terry and I love the entire area and would loved to have made the 3 hour trip over if things were normal health wise. The Minnesota Equine and Equestrian Center is located outside the city and Terry has friends who are still working there.. There are still plenty of older now unserved railroad industries along the river to photograph. It’s a good college town now so it’s a vibrant not a dead river town. We were downriver 6 weeks ago in Clinton, Iowa another old river city and except for the 4 trolls was a dead river town with no vibrancy except the wooden trolls. So that tells you something

The other reason is we are going to game 2 tonight in Milwaukee. We did not go last night and gave the tickets to 2 of the grandson’s hockey teammates. They will leave Sunday morning for Winona as they stayed at the SIL’s dad’s house last night and will again tonight after the game. 3 boys and 2 dads so it’s a boys weekend. We are traveling 30 minutes after the game to spend the night at Terry’s best friend’s. Pat will then join us for the ride home Sunday. She’s staying as long as she and Terry want.

Much to the daughter’s dismay we are not tailgating before the game. She is driving over with us and tailgating before any game is a must for her and their friends as the boys will be set up. She was looking for another ride over. I pissed her off when she asked if she could have another ticket and I said no. They have 7 tickets tonight. Told her not giving her another ticket they say if I sold it is worth $3000 so she could hitch a ride to tailgate to have an extra beer or 2. We gave the last ticket to Terry’s friend who will meet us at the game. Terry’s youngest brother and his girlfriend of 28 years will pick Pat up and bring her. (The g/f refuses to ever marry again though they’ve lived together all those years).

Told the pissy daughter to watch her step because I have not decided game 6 or 7 tickets yet. I’ve been ornery the last month or so with her because she has a slight smell of entitlement around her and she was raised better than that. My tolerance levels for stupidity this month at at a very low level!

Be well

Good morning all!

Another carbon copy of yesterdays weather. Currently its 51F and mostly sunny. High is supposed to top out at a gorgeous 72F. This stretch
of nice weather looks to continue thru most of next week.

Usual Saturday stuff around the house today. Walmart has already done the main grocery delivery this morning. I will have to go to the store later for a few items. Both cars need to be filled, and a quick ATM stop off to get some cash for the week. Wife already has some laundry going. Im not sure if I will run over the leaves today or tomorrow. There isn't all that much as not a lot have fallen yet. Some haven't started changing colors yet. Might be a late leaf mulching season this year.

Not much else going on other than that.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good Morning All. Clear and 55°, heading up to 82° later today. Maybe rain next weekend.

Mostly took the day off yesterday and watched "cab-ride" model RR videos on the computer, while I recovered from the whatever that I had in my neck/shoulder Thursday evening. Still did a load of laundry and heated up leftover corned beef for supper.
Back to outdoor tasks this morning after the dew dries. Burn trash in the background while I am doing other stuff. Going to try a new to me recipe for supper tonight. It's a Turkey Mushroom Meatloaf that looks to be quite yummy when I look at all of the ingredients.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I started the second building from the Trackside Jamboree kit. Just added the bracing to the laser-cut wood walls and primered them. Meanwhile I will attempt today to post the last picture from the first structure that I couldn't post yesterday. I added a light fixture above the door on the front side from my details collection. I didn't use the one that came with the kit, although it is very good, as I wanted to differentiate this structure from my previous build.

I'll add some light weathering and a few other details soon.

Tom O - Good for you that you can easily do early voting. While we have it here, there's only one place in our rural county to do it and that's a 50 mile round trip to the county courthouse. On election day, it's just a 14 mile round trip to our precinct's location where there's at most a 3-5 minute wait if any.
Glad to read this morning that you are feeling better.
Chad - You posted about "a trillion photos to store" on a phone yesterday. I often wonder how many people actually go back and look at their photos? I transferred over 10K of them from my wife's phone to her laptop last spring for her, but she admitted that she had never looked at most, either on the phone or the laptop. The only ones that I have saved on my phone are pictures of household products and food containers so I can match them up at the grocery store!

On the subject of cooking steak. I have tried many ways, sous-vide, cast-iron grill pan, propane grill, thinly sliced like Philly Cheesesteak, oven-broil and charcoal grilling. In my opinion, there is no better way than old-fashion charcoal grilling. As far as "resting", I rest mine from the time that I take it off the grill until I get it to the table...isn't 90 seconds enough???

One of the other musicians killed in the Buddy Holly plane crash in 1959, The Big Bopper, was born on this day in 1930. Retired Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman is 90 today.

Everyone have a great Saturday.
