Good Morning All. Clear and 55°, heading up to 82° later today. Maybe rain next weekend.
Mostly took the day off yesterday and watched "cab-ride" model RR videos on the computer, while I recovered from the whatever that I had in my neck/shoulder Thursday evening. Still did a load of laundry and heated up leftover corned beef for supper.
Back to outdoor tasks this morning after the dew dries. Burn trash in the background while I am doing other stuff. Going to try a new to me recipe for supper tonight. It's a Turkey Mushroom Meatloaf that looks to be quite yummy when I look at all of the ingredients.
Out in the train shed yesterday, I started the second building from the Trackside Jamboree kit. Just added the bracing to the laser-cut wood walls and primered them. Meanwhile I will attempt today to post the last picture from the first structure that I couldn't post yesterday. I added a light fixture above the door on the front side from my details collection. I didn't use the one that came with the kit, although it is very good, as I wanted to differentiate this structure from my previous build.
I'll add some light weathering and a few other details soon.
Tom O - Good for you that you can easily do early voting. While we have it here, there's only one place in our rural county to do it and that's a 50 mile round trip to the county courthouse. On election day, it's just a 14 mile round trip to our precinct's location where there's at most a 3-5 minute wait if any.
Glad to read this morning that you are feeling better.
Chad - You posted about "a trillion photos to store" on a phone yesterday. I often wonder how many people actually go back and look at their photos? I transferred over 10K of them from my wife's phone to her laptop last spring for her, but she admitted that she had never looked at most, either on the phone or the laptop. The only ones that I have saved on my phone are pictures of household products and food containers so I can match them up at the grocery store!
On the subject of cooking steak. I have tried many ways, sous-vide, cast-iron grill pan, propane grill, thinly sliced like Philly Cheesesteak, oven-broil and charcoal grilling. In my opinion, there is no better way than old-fashion charcoal grilling. As far as "resting", I rest mine from the time that I take it off the grill until I get it to the table...isn't 90 seconds enough???
One of the other musicians killed in the Buddy Holly plane crash in 1959, The Big Bopper, was born on this day in 1930. Retired Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman is 90 today.
Everyone have a great Saturday.
