My neighbor brought his backhoe over today to start digging up the bushes between our property's. We're putting up a vinyl fence there. Both of us got tired of trimming the bushes.

Good Afternoon All!
55F @ 58% clear.

I always wondered about NorthBrit - it just seemed ..um.. funny with all the travels. Didn't even consider the pix were not his own like @TLOC. Guess that he was traveling in his mind and from the looks of it, doing a pretty good job of it. Which makes me also wonder - Dawn? Not really a British name is it? Imaginary trips with an imaginary woman - perfect!

@bnsf971 Terry, glad ya got it figured out. At one time or another there actually was 14/2 without the ground wire. Think 12/2 always had the ground but knowing my memory as I think I do ....

I did confirm several things he posted about over the time he was active. Unless he was pretending to be that person, who also had a wife named Dawn, who also suffered a bout of poisoning during a trip through Russia, he really was who he said and did at least a lot of what he said.
I wonder if the travels became more virtual for them after she was poisoned, since it left her in pretty frail health.

Good evening gang!

46° and falling from a high of 58° earlier today. Freeze warning for tonight but the coming week looks like sunny days with highs in the 50s all week. Great fall weather!

Yesterday's visit from son #2 and his wife and the dogs was fun. His new dog Zeus is a gentle giant. He's a German Shepard/Husky/ Pit mix. He's twice the size of out Border Collie but a very friendly beast. Off leash he had the zoomies big time in our yard, but when the neighbors GSD puppies were out he showed us how he could clear a 4 ft fence with ease! He ran up to the pups and dropped to his belly, just wanting to play. My son was in hot pursuit so play didn't last long.
After chasing and playing with the 4 dog til late, I slept in this morning, and finally got on the tractor after lunch to cut the grass, then Nascar , then dinner.
My whole Sunday in a nutshell !

Good evening folks, hit 70 here today with lots of sunshine. Great day at Church, excellent services. Got semi caught up on a Bible Study class this afternoon and had a good nap. [not at the same time 😁 ] Getting caught up the Internet right now. Working tomorrow, so will see how that will go.
You guys have a great night and day tomorrow.

Good evening. 4th quarter of a strange Packer/Cowboy game.Penalty after penalty.

Went to the grandson’s soccer game and they lost 0-1 to the team they beat 4-1 yesterday. 16-3-2 this Fall season. I thought 5 games left after today but daughter said team parents told coaches not to schedule November games but they did anyway. The 8 hockey players will not be playing the November tournaments!

Finished the weathering on a small 3 wall structure in a paper mill over the course of the day. Pictures in a couple days. My camera on the IPhone no longer works. I’ve been waiting for the new IPhones in September and then for better deals. I haven’t seen any even decent deals let alone good ones. We buy our phones outright instead of changing the plans. But the phone is getting worst where sometimes nothing works. The bullet needs to be bitten soon I think

Long 4th quarter is over Cowboys lose!

There still is. Just not NMB. I went to buy some sort of other wire (to hook a plug to to hook up a motor in our radiant system. So not inside a wall wire) and was looking at the 14/2 and the guy asked if I needed a ground. He said the 14/2 didn’t have a ground. Just two conductors.
I would have thought that 14/2 was 14 gauge, 2 wire. But that would be two power conductors and not considering the ground. If 14/3, I guess that would be black, white, and red. Then maybe a green.

For NMB (Romex) type wire, that is correct. 14/2 is 14 gauge two conductor plus the ground. 14/3 is three conductor plus the ground, used for the multi-switch setups etc. Same for

For otehr types of wire, 14/2 is 2 conductor with no ground. Like I said, I bought some 12/3 that had a thick "rubber" shielding/insulation on it and was round and hooked up a 3 prong plug to it and ran it into a motor on the radiant system. That one the guy at the store had to explain to me didn't have a ground and I forget what the code for that type of wire is. It's made for outside the wall use.

When I say "rubber" insulation, the outer most layer felt like rubber or similar -- and the actual insulation was multi layer made of a few different layers IIRC. It's been a few years.

One thing I recently learned as well. We know that traditional NMB (Romex) type wire is typically color coded. White for 14 gauge and yellow for 12 gauge. So 14/2 and 14/3 would be white, and 12/2/ and 12/3 would be yellow. And when our house was wired a few years ago that was the case. Same when I bought wire myself to finish some stuff off.

But recently working in my mom's house, and I learned that the 3 conductor versions have recently been given their own colors. (At least by some manufacturers). The 14/3 is blue and the 12/3 is purple. My mom is putting in a room in her basement and her son-in-law was wiring it and brought back some blue colored Romex style wire. So I'm looking at it right now ( as my office is right outside the room, which is not finished and still open framing and wire).
