I cut, stripped wires, and installed the 3 wire outlet this morning. Of course, the outlet was mismarked on the breaker panel, but I learned long ago to check. That outlet is now what I call standard, at least from anything less than 75 years ago. The house in North Carolina used two-prong outlets, with cloth-covered two-wire conductors, throughout the house. It was built in 1948. For anybody else that remembers the story, the bomb shelter was built in 1961.

Need to bring my sunglasses with me tomorrow. Although the photo does not show the glare I see, the sun is blinding to any 40 mph biker's that speeds pass you on weekends. Have to be alert, they could very easily hit myself or Murphy. Swal

It's real Kusojiji that was this morning at 7am on the Put Rail Trail. I could not see what you're seeing in the photo because the sun was so blinding. I said in one of my posts I had worked a freight on this same trail in 1969 and then they completely shut down the line right after that. Swal

Good Morning. And Happy Sunday. 42° and sunny in Coastal Jersey.

I was awakened by the sound of a School Bus this morning, which more or less defines how much things have changed here, (As well as how much our country has changed), over the 41 years I have lived here.

Tampa Bay evened it's ALCS series against the Cleveland Baseball team.
The Devils lost to the Capitals 4-2. The Filthy Flyers won their first game this season.
Auburn upset the Dawg with a last minute FG.
Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good morning all!

Should be a perfect fall day. Currently its 46F. High is supposed to be 63F under mostly sunny skies. Cant get much better than that!

Slept in a bit this morning after waking up at 5:30 which is rare for me.

Not much on the agenda for today since most everything was done yesterday. I am going to mow and mulch up what few leaves have come
down.

Daughter is leaving in a little while to attend a volleyball game at the University of Illinois today with a couple friends. She is really getting into
college volleyball.

Have a safe day everyone!

Dealing with the jungle site now.
Last Sunday, I spoke to them via chat about a Kindle that I'd had a week, and the battery goes dead after 3.5 hours, instead of "weeks" as advertised. They made the return as inconvenient as possible, including forcing me to go to a UPS facility during UPS' regular hours of Mon-Fri, 8:30-5:00, buying a box, printing a return label, and paying $7.99 return shipping fee. After a lengthy chat, they decided to refund the purchase amount, and I could toss the thing in the trash. I'm glad I didn't...
I've been waiting to see the credit on my statement. Waiting... Waiting... Chatted again today. They didn't know why I was promised such a thing, but if I want a refund, I have to do what they said. So, take a day off work to drive 15 miles to UPS, buy a box, and pay $7.99 to ship it back, and lose much more than the price of the Kindle in lost wages, or keep it, suck it up, and never buy anything like that from them again. It's not like it was a third-party vendor, it was the company itself. And they're making the return so inconvenient they are obviously hoping I say "the hell with it" and keep it.
Just keep escalating it. That’s what I do if there is a real problem like this. Tell them it didn’t work out of the box (meaning battery life) and you expect them to make it right.

Michael - RE: David (the other one) was a regular poster until March when the trans-Pacific voyage was slated to start. As I posted, I had known for a while that many of his posted pictures were not his nor were properly attributed. Whether the trips, both cruises and overland train trips were real or not, I never knew.

Yes, some photos were taken right from Wikipedia pages when a comparison was done from locations he claimed to have visited during his trip. But like you, I never knew if the trip was real or he was just trippin' in his head.

By a strange coincidence, I was on the phone with them when you posted the above. It took until now, and running up the chain of command, but they finally agreed to do what they initially promised. Especially when they pulled the transcript of the original chat log.

A school bus on Sunday?

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those difference between correlation and causation.

It's Troy again.

Wife and I have been trying Granite City Brewing Company's restaurant out, and like it. Got a "Save $5 when you spend $20 in their app, so we went at 11 this morning.

Did NOT know they serve BRUNCH buffet on Sunday mornings. AND ONLY Brunch buffet. The server was nice and asked her manager if we could get the kitchen to fire up a burger and the mac-n-cheese dish for us... Nope. Brunch only til noon.

Didn't want to wait 40 minutes to eat, and we don't need to pig out to get our money's worth out of the buffet.

So we went around the corner to Cheddars scratch kitchen. Wife didn't get her big dish of Mac-m-cheese. I got my burger though. Wife got her Chicken pot pie, which is one of her top three meals (Mac-n-cheese or Pasta with a lot of cheese, Meatloaf, or the Chicken pot pie).

Which reminds me, I gotta get sausages out of the freezer, so we can have them with the Mac-n-cheese on Tuesday. And I'm supposed to BBQ a meatloaf this week as well. Better get those fixins out too.

It's nice to see your eating well Troy. Swal

Good early morning folks. Been up since 0300 for whatever reason. Mind woke up and woke the rest of me up despite 15mg of melatonin at 2330. Sucking down a cup of cold coffee.

Today's agenda: go to the base to pick up a prescription of pregabilin that I've been out of since Friday. Doc told me I could double or triple the dosage but didn't take into account that the refill would still trigger at the original dosage rate. I sent the doc a message, but it took a while to be read and then responded to. Second item is to hit the commissary. I'm jonesing for a steak. I do need coffee and lunch meat. Chicken pot pie also sounds good, but is something that only I would eat since it is full of veggies. I forget which was better, swanson or marie, which are the only two available.

Since it's been a month since the surgery, I can start doing normal things. the 11 lb restriction is off. We pulled the sweet potatos yesterday and pulling all them vines out took a lot since they were all over the place. Cut the vines up into smaller pieces and stuffed it all into plastic bags for the trash. We ended up with a disappointing crop this year with most being bite size and only 3-4 big sized ones. Since we had a lot of vines and leaves and no potatos, I'm thinking too much nitrogen. I didn't think we loaded that much in though. Either way, we need to get the onions going soon.

As for driving, I'll start slowly by going around the block first to see if I can see well enough. My eyes are very sensitive to bright lights since I've been pretty much living in my cave for over a month. I need to get darker sun glasses.

Have a good day!

Good to hear things are improving for you. I'm about back to normal myself, but still weaning off of the Metoprolol.

Get the Marie Calender. Much better than Swanson.
