Good Morning All!
20F @ 69% and overcast. Supposed to get to 41F bout 1500, then over 40F until Thursday. Lows are going from 21F today to 39F on Thursday.

Stink Bugs: The Cats get any other bugs and chow down on them before they get into the house. Both the Cats and Dogs have tried a Stink Bug - you should see them spit'm out and then spit what ever is in their mouths for awhile after that! When we do get them, they all seem to group in the bathtub which makes Maria mutter some choice words. Oh well, they all go down the drain screaming when she pre-rinses the tub!

Waiting for above 30F so I can go out and do some more tractor work. Have to back fill a few spots around the house and train cave to help seal stuff up better. Gawd, what would I have done without the thing? Rates right up there with Napkins and Sawsalls! Now have 21 hours on it - didn't get to use it much this summer as other stuff was happening.

Later!

Morning all! Warm and muggy. We are running around getting the house tidied up for a visit from our great granddaughter. She's 9 going on 45. I was just informed I need to run and get some candy, so she can trick or treat today. Should get to run some trains as she like to see them running and making up stories about the people in the buildings and trains.
A little excitement this morning. I young man riding an old dirt bike stalled in front of our driveway while I was walking the dog. About 5 minutes later I heard the bike start and I look out the window just in time to see him pull a wheelie. Before the front wheel landed, he hit it again hard and down the road he went. Unfortunately, he was not still on the bike but rolling and tumbling down the road. He did have a helmet on, or this would have been a totally different story. While I was about to call 911 one of the neighbors came and talked with him. A few minutes later 2 pickups arrived and hauled him and the bike away.

STAY SAFE

It is great to hear of grandchildren being involved in model trains. Even nicer to hear girls joining in.

Thanks James. I have purchased 1/4” thick rolls in the past at 100’ long for under $200USD. My searches have me looking at $1200 for the same stuff in 98’ rolls. Not going to happen as I will use drywall for the remaining

That’s actually not that bad. Looks like it’s $219 for us in the Midwest.

think I paid around $200 for my roll just before Covid.

I used it in my yard area

Afternoon All,

Today I headed down to my buddy's house with Dad and the whole gang was there. We ran trains, BS'ed a lot and Tom gave me NBW's for the crane build which was very nice of him.

Yesterday daughter, SIL, grandson and I tiled the bedroom. It took 7.5 hours to do. Needless to say, I was very sore by the end. I took Alieve throughout the day and before going to bed. Today I'm stiff and low energy even after a good sleep. This was the last floor in daughter's house that needed done (until the next time). ;) I was told last night I wasn't needed for the grouting:D I just talked to daughter, and they have just finished the third wipe down after grouting.

Daughter told me for Xmas she wants new house windows so I will give her some HO windows as a gag gift.

Louis- The FD, Police and Military know how to do a funeral right. I have Africa Korps and one I believe is called Red Army. It's a NATO vs. Russia game. As much as I played it there was just too many Russian forces for NATO to win. Even employing nuclear weapons really didn't help much.

Roger- Nice acquisitions.

Willie- I bet you're glad to be home.

Mike- Nice layout shot.

I hope everyone has a good night.

I would just cheer him on to do even crazier stunts...watch him crash, and walk back to the house satisfied, knowing that was the last time he was in the area😆

2 weeks lead time for the cork to get to my local HD. I have not had great success with cork underlayment but the price is ok compared to other finds. Ordered, thanks

I got mine from HD. I thought the quality was really good.

Biggest issue I had was, it wanted to curl back to its original shape on the roll. I found that laying it on the basement floor with folding tables (opposite of the curl) on it for 48 hours helped some. It still wanted to curl, but not as bad.

The 4'X2" sections I could lay by myself. The 33" sections on the other side the wife helped me with them. They were a little much for one person to handle, and get positioned, and weighted.

Good morning from Wisconsin. We may have had some frost in areas but the low temperature overnight was only 35. High today is to be 43, exactly how I remember a Fall Saturday to be. When I was in high school all the football games were played on Saturday. Moved to wisconsin for college and the high school football games were Friday night. Used to love football on Saturday in the cold weather of 30’s and 40 degrees at 11AM.

I have given up on buying cork rolls for the layout. Not worth it. My main line is 1/2” dry wall and the yards and industrial areas will be 3/8” if I can find it. HD and Menards will order it but as of yesterday had no stock. I will expand the search.

I see in the war zone they have knocked out the internet, among other things. The report I read is that is causing major concern in the international community. Shouldn’t the International community be more concerned about all the needless deaths and destruction? Why does the USA still belong to the UN?

Today is another one of those were there will be no time after 10AM for the train room. The granddaughter is not traveling to her brother’s last outdoor soccer game of the season as she will stay with me. We will swim some as she loves the water. Then at 2:30 she and I will venture over to the ice hockey rink where we will watch her brother play in the 1st hockey game of his 52 game Winter schedule. The amount of games they have these kids playing IMO is nuts. After the game, he will join us and head home for his shower. The 3 of us are going to do Culvers indoors and then head to my place. We will watch the UW Badgers interact with the football team from Ohio State that will probably destroy Wisconsin hopes for the remainder of the season. The kids will search the stands for their mom and dad while I am watching the UW Badger women’s hockey team destroy the University of St. Thomas in conference hockey on my Ipadpro. Last night the UW ladies won but the St Thomas goalie was unreal keeping the score at 5-3. The kids will sleep here and we will meet the parents at the 8AM hockey game tomorrow, he has 2 games tomorrow, the second is at 4 but in Dubuque, Iowa and I am not traveling those 75 miles.

enjoy the day
Tom- when I was in high school, most football games were on Saturday. There was one school in our conference that had lights. Now, they’re one of the few schools from our conference that plays on Saturday. For football, all 5 of the South Jersey conferences(from Trenton area down to Cape May) merged into one giant 95-school football-only league, called the West Jersey Football League. 3/4 of the mega-league has lights.

I think it’s a must have in Wisconsin. Even the really rural districts up North have lights. In our area near Madison even the soccer and baseball (softball and hardball) complexes are lit up!

Stormy evening all,

Nothing severe, but been off and on lightning and rain most of the day. Currently 34° and winter storm watch in the counties to our immediate north and west.

Finally finished the kitchen work and the last trim piece is cut and in place. Still been busy as the local daughter's kitchen and laundry are drains are leaking. I think the galvanized drains have finally rusted through.

Have a good night.
