Good Morning All. Clear and 57° here in Gulfport MS, supposed to be cloudy and foggy in another hour or so. Headed for the breakfast buffet in a couple of minutes, I'll see what's good. Hmmmh! Wife seems to be talking to me and I can't hear her, I guess I should find where I took the hearing aids out last night.
See ya later.
Yesterday took a bizarre turn and I really accomplished none of what I started to get done, ok most of what I wanted to get done.
Started a load of laundry and started looking online for a new circular saw. Found what I wanted and who had the best price, then proceeded to go down to the basement to move the laundry as it should have been done. Washer 1/2 full of soapy water and clothes. Ended up spending most of the day looking at washing machines before we got one we could live with at a decent price. Still more money than I wanted to spend, but new washer is in the garage waiting for the boy to come over later and help me get it in the basement. Old washer drained and out of the way. I did finish most of the kitchen's base trim and quarter round.
Today we'll see how much of it I can get done. I don't have a circular saw, so I will be cutting any siding by hand if i get that far.
Reading about the Baltimore fire is one reason I won't live a a multifamily dwelling.
Louis: If you buy the correct plugs for your Equinox, they should already be gapped correctly. The iridium spark plugs can't be gapped without causing damage to them. I still have to put them in my '16 Equinox, but my AC Delco's are pre-gapped. At just a bit over 96,000 miles, I'm waiting for the mileage to get closer to the 100,000 mark.
Still have my keys and handles for the GE & Budd MUs. Also my Metroliner keys and Metro North M-3 cars. They are in a cabinet somewhere.
At least, I recognized the photos as a familiar place, without reading the captions.
I have a key for Metroliner and F40PH, it was given to me by retiring Philadelphia engine house foreman. Have you ever got to run the original Silverliner I, the ones with diamond pantographs?
The Mexican food I would rate 7 out of 10. Not as good as back home, but decent enough. This is actually our third visit there; my wife likes their 32 oz Margarita's. Today for lunch is either a real wood-fired pizza place, or an all you can eat shrimp joint, both of which rate at least 9.5.
There are a few hobby shops, but the only one that actually seems open is Michaels. This is Sunday in church-heavy Mississippi!
About the only thing that I really need for the layout and can actually justify purchasing is 1:87 vehicles. Not likely at a Michaels.
I can't speak for an Equinox specifically, but from what I have experienced in the last 25 years, most spark plugs are already pre-gapped at the correct distance. More so with the newest models.

Good morning Crew from a gorgeous opening to the morning. Sunny, clear skies with calm winds and the temperature at 36f degrees.
The WIsconsin Badger teams were a mixed bag yesterday. The #1 ranked Women’s hockey team demolished Bemidji State 7-1 and the play wasn’t that close. Then the football team finally showed some grit yesterday scoring the last 18 points yesterday e route to a 4th quarter win at Illinois. The sad part was #1 ranked WIsconsin Volleyball lost a match they should have won to #2 in Nebraska in 5 sets at Nebraska. Watching it on TV was good but being there would have been fun. Badger fans are nuts at Volleyball games on campus usually sellouts of about 7500. But Nebraska fans, holy snikey! They make us seem like quiet little mice. Tickets at Nebraska for standing room were selling for $280 each.
I stayed up for the Lombard Hobby online sales. Unimpressed with ScaleTrain and Athearn Genesis locomotive pricing. This morning I will look again. I have a shopping list from 5 clients and it’s mainly autoracks and intermodal cars. Spend enough to get to the free shipping saves $$$ 4 everyone.
An unusual TV day yesterday in that I actually watched it. Left the house at 1:15pm for 2pm hockey on campus. Got home to watch the Football on TV which ended at 620pm. Volleyball was at 7 on The Big Ten network and the BlackHawks played Vegas on ESPN at 7 in the Chicago home opener. After the Badgers went down I switched full time to the Blackhawks. Then after that game I wanted the Winnipeg Jets beat in overtime the Edmonton Oilers. I believe I may have watched more TV yesterday the the past 3 months combined!
No trains yesterday! Never even ventured into the train room to get a soda to watch the games with. We had a local very good not great though pizza delivered for dinner. Terry right now is having a couple cold left over pieces for breakfast. I never enjoyed cold pizza!
Today is a small grocery run to our HyVee. The football Badgers scored 25 points. So we need to spend $25 and we will earn $.50 per gallon fuel savers. Gas on Friday was at $3.09 per gallon and I had $2.69 per gallon fuel saver rewards. Yesterday coming home from hockey ALL the gas stations were at $3.29 per gallon. That was strange for this area as there usually are differences! I don’t even care what the gasoline distributors are blaming for this latest price hike. If their lips are moving, like politicians they are lying!

The same here with supermarkets. They blame everyone else for the rise in prices, yet make vast profits.
Tesco's latest ruse is to stop selling 6 pint bottles of milk. No one wants them they say? They want people to buy 4 + 2 pint bottles instead. (More profit).
Not from me. I shall shop elsewhere.
I went for years refusing to admit that I needed hearing aids, but finally gave in and got them. I should have gotten them 5 years sooner than I did. I can still tune things out just by taking them out. One of the best investments that I ever made. Right up there with the recent cataract surgery. I feel like the "Six Million Dollar Man".
OK, there's absolutely nothing open here before noon. I am just about caught up with yesterday's posts here on the forum. I went for a walk around the place already, and I am killing time before going for lunch and the museum that opens at 1:00. Looking around here in the hotel, I note the difference between me and my wife regarding one night stays at hotels. I bring in one travel bag and simply live out of it. She brings in a much larger suitcase, several hangers with clothes and another overnight bag. She hangs stuff up, puts stuff in drawers and covers the vanity; hair dryer, make-up, various cleansers and gels, and a mystery bag that I don't look into. That means leaving takes much more time as everything has to be packed back up and I have to head downstairs and retrieve a cart...often elusive. Are all wives like this???
