Are all wives like this???
My wife can get ready to go out faster than me and usually does. She is also an experienced international traveler who travels light.

From my experience my wife is unique.

I think the answer to your question is we are all different.

You should be able to find a newspaper nearby if not in the hotel lobby. Make yourself comfortable and read while you wait.

Have a safe trip home!

Good morning gang!!
56° and breezy, winds 17 mph out of the northwest. Picked up my Ruger 22/10 takedown yesterday, real nice piece of machinery. I hope I can get it to the range next weekend!
Pickup up another sheet of Homasote yesterday so I can start the 2 yards. Son # 1 rode along and helped the old man cut it to side and rip the rest into 3 3/4 inch strips for roadbed. I got the one yard Homasote and cork laid, but I just had to order another case of cork for the yard and some more sidings. For those keeping score, that's 3 empty cases of cork down, 1 may be 2 to go! I think I'm ok on flex track, since I just picked up another 25 pieces to add to my current stock.
Wives and hearing: My theory on this is kind of like acupuncture, where pressure in one part of the body can affect another part of the body. The theory being in men, the pressure of the wedding band can directly affect the nerves that affect hearing, conversely wedding band on women over time affect the sex drive. Your mileage may vary.
Now just a few random layout shots from the modules. They will be disassembled and incorporated into the new layout soon.

I have been messing around with the Edge's Co-Pilot AI. I finally got to the image creation part. Gentlemen, if you can envision a scene you would like to build, get ideas for a scene this AI thing could really help. The more descriptive you are the better the image AI creates.
This is my first. I asked for a picture of an abandoned cannery with some old railroad tracks. This is one of three renderings.

Mine is the same way. Traveling for work, and living a month at a time out of a carryon.

Thats really neat!

Going to have to mess with that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Lawn mowed, last of the winterizer spread and the new washer installed and test load run. I don't know why they insist on short drain lines for the stupid things and every drain line is a different size. I had to go to Ace Hardware and get 2 ft of bilge hose to add to the end of the appliance drain line to reach where the house drain is.

Lunch is over, so ow back to it...

Afternoon All,

Started out the day with chores then headed to the train room. I figured out the wheel and rail setup and was going to build the carriage that the chain hoist is attached to but realized I can't do that until the framework is done, so I'm waiting on stain. :( In a couple of hours we have to leave to pick up Dad at the airport.

Mac- I'm sorry I missed your steamer photo yesterday. It looks like you did a great job on it.

David- MOH had to have her left auditory nerve severed because of Meiners Disease. That cured it, but now no matter what ear is pointed towards me she can't hear me.

Bill- Interesting station.

Mikey- Interesting build.

Karl- Great layout shots.

Hughie- Neat looking photo.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Good afternoon. It's sunny and 85.
I have something of a head scratcher, for any computer guys here.
I got tired of having extra drives laying around with my stuff on them, because the drive in my laptop wasn't large enough to hold everything. So, I got a 2tb SSD and started trying to copy files onto the larger drive.
And then the fun started.
The transfer would freeze, or the computer would "lose" the external drive.
After many hours trying to fix this, I found an old 2.5" hard drive with about half my files on it. I grabbed an enclosure, connected it to the laptop, and-- it worked like it was supposed to. Glacially slow, but it worked. I tried with USB flash drives, it worked. I tried with SSDs--it failed. I tried with an SD card, it worked. All the odds and ends I have laying around with files on them work, except the ones that I could expect to use and not be ready for the retirement home before they finish. They will not work. I have many of them, and I tried some that had almost nothing on them, just transferred a couple of photos onto them, to see if they would work to transfer those. Nope.
I even resorted to contacting the computer manufacturer, they couldn't figure it out, either. I can access the files on the drives, and use them as if they were on the drive in the laptop, I just can't move them to the laptop.
So, at this rate I should be done transferring everything onto my new SSD by Christmas.

Hearing!

Terry wears hearing aides and they are helpful. She accuses me of not hearing her (I hear but I don‘t always listen). I told her I can hear fine but she is quiet or in another room trying to talk to me!!! Anyway she said I have hearing issues and wanted me to get tested. So I agreed to go on her next appointment so we scheduled the hearing test for me. I’m fine!

Traveling! Terry is great at traveling. Mostly carry on bags and away we go. Superior packaging expert! My sister is just like Willie has described…terrible
