I cannot believe how slow it is in the cafe tonight.
I guess it goes along with the project I have been working on for the last 25 years.
We got the Coca Cole wood crate before we moved to Ohio in 1998. The crate is stamped 1975, Chattanooga, Tn.
I found the spoked wood wheels in Amish country just before I was transferred back to Alabama.
Until last week, I could not get the crate and wheels together to start building a wagon.
Monday, I sat down and measured crate and wheels to figure out axle heights and clearances.
It took three days to re-glue the spokes in 2wheels, paint the wheels and find dowels to make axle pins.
I made the steering tongue out of a 1 x 2 piece of fir and found a small piece for the handle.
I measured and marked, measured and marked, and measured and marked the holes for the axle pins, the front swing axle, and the tongue pivot holes.
Then I drilled the holes- very carefully. After reaming a few holes, sanding a few parts, the wagon was finally assembled as these pictures show.

I still must paint the undercarriage, tongue and handle, but that is for tomorrow after the glue dries.
