121 was the early requirement for antilock brakes. I've forgotten what year it was, but I remember pretty vividly an early incident involving the three trucks equipped with it, on their way to an exhibition. They were traveling together, and another truck passed them, and when he passed the one in front, he keyed up his CB radio, which caused the brakes in the front truck to freak out and apply. The other two trucks barely escaped ramming into the first one. Almost immediately after that, the trucks were retrofitted with RF shielding for the electronics.
Now that I think more about it, that may have been in 1976.
I remember driving some new tankers in 76 that had some of the “new” systems. We didn’t understand them fully.

Confused, ScaleTrains have them in stock.
Made me look again. My page says sold out

These things must of been pretty popular.

I scoured the web for a while and found none available.

I even looked at Hiawatha. They seem to have stuff sold out everywhere else.
Thanks Mike. Hiawatha and Lombard are what I consider 2 of my local shops. Hiawatha is 72 miles and Lombard is 115 miles away. I think I look at Hiawatha daily. I started looking for the WC Heritage unit last week and it’s no where. I finally found a few sound equipped NS 9-40c’s while looking for the WC after weathering a NS Unit in August for a client and posting on my client list. I had a few guys ask me to locate one for them for me to weather for them. I like and enjoy the search.

But, the WC unit is for me and I will find the ST unit. Not interested in the upcoming Intermountain unit. If I cannot secure one by the new year I May paint one as the decals are available

I appreciate you looking and the help

Looking for some help! I am looking for a Scaletrains HO scale Heritage unit. WIsconsin Central. It’s for me!

Evening Tom. William in Alabama here. I went out on E-bay,and I believe I have located a model of that very locomotive up for sale. In fact I found at least three HO locomotives of that Roadname. Just type in ScaleTrains ET44AC Canadian National, and you should see them. Hope this helps. William Latture.

William thank you. I typed that in exactly and get some intermountain units and a Scaletrains in N scale. Can you do a screen shoot or the seller name

. I have no one to talk old trucks with anymore this new breed is something else.
This new breed can't event drive. I've started in 99 and the guy who was teaching me had 38 Years experience. Many companies now have automatic transmissions in their fleets. We had a guy come in after supposedly 5 years driving in another company, well he couldn't event shift gears. Things got worse especially when the filthy government forced electronic log books, a lot of experienced drivers finally said enough and quit. New drivers are coming mostly from college course driving...and it shows.

I wouldn't want to be trucking these day, between bosses having you on satellite tracking 24/7, mobile phones so the boss can whine at you, and accountants running companies, it's just not a industry that is enjoyable to be in

Louis. I have no words to say that others have covered. A couple years a my hunting Beagle had the same heart problems your does I kept her close to me her last days unfortunately she died in my arms one night haven’t had a dog since. Gabby was 13 years old.
My hope is that my pets pass away with me. I lost my seven-year-old cocker spaniel years ago to sudden heart failure. I got her to the emergency hospital in time for her to pass away on a cold exam table with me in the waiting room. I was seriously depressed for two weeks. That was the first and only time I have suffered depression for so long.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those playing games this fine Sunday!

It's Troy again, your intrepid reporter from Lansing Michigan giving you a run down on our Kings of War tourney up here.

Got to meet a ton of nice folks. I think we're at 30 or 32 players. I've had three fun games so far. One draw, and two losses. The first of those losses was what we call a mirror match. I faced someone playing a force from the same faction: Night Stalkers. That player, Jesse is one of the top-tier players.

I admitted that he was my 15 game/opponent and he instantly shifted to a trainer/apprentice mode. He still stomped my force, but I had a good time learning how to send my forces into the blender, and got an appreciation of what the force could be.

My arch nemesis turns out to not be a gamer,, but the lack of proper coffee at this hour of the morning. The "Starbucks" kiosk in the hotel is closed for renovation, since they just flipped ownership (now a Doubletree) of the hotel attached to the convention center sky bridge.

This is what the hotel provides. Technically, hot brown liquid with the faint aroma of a tired old coffee bean:

One thing I love about this hobby is how into the modeling aspect the players are. This particular game system lends itself to the modeling hobby. Here's my display board, followed by some of the more interesting armies/displays.

Above, my Night Stalkers before Xmas board, based on the movie. I did get a lot of compliments on the theme.

Above, Rob's Lizardfolk

Above Gregg's Night Stalkers from the pumpkin patch. He started with a lot of the same models I used, and added 3D printed heads and stuff, as well as modeled in extra foliage to give his army a fresh-from-the-garden nightmarish look.

Above, Matt T's Goblin swarms. They emerged from the sewers to battle my force to a draw in round one.

Above is Marshall T's "Chariot" for his undead army. Since each force gets a "Free" chariot slot with the same base stats to fit the "Grand Prix" theme, he modeled his as an undead killer from a certain cheesy movie of many years ago. Bonus points to anyone who recognizes it.

Above: another of the lizard folk armies. Love the display board.

Above Kara B's Riftforged Orcs. I've been in the process of building a variant of this army with their more generic cousins. Her painting theme is really cool. These are the battle-tested creatures that emerge from the rift between the abyss and the game world. Hence the rifty lightning theme on the bases. Very cool. Gave me a lot of ideas for how to move forward.

OK, two more games today then a 2 hour drive home.

I still have to edit the current book, sprinkle in some red herrings, and get it off to the editor in 3 days. More to come from the tourney later.

and catching up on posts from the past couple of days:

1. MIL and her insulin pump.... there is still a human interface with the pump each meal. MIL has to put in her carbs. She over-calculated and put in 70-ish. Wife said it should have been 50ish, and then she went to a PT session. So, a crash.

Her Endo MD called her condition "Fragile" on the diabetic side. Her meaning was that she crashes easily and hard. The lows go low and quickly. She's on the Ver 3 of the sensors, and about to get version 4 (Medicare was the sticking point, and why she's still on the 3... but govt boxes have all been checked and approved).

2. Don't worry about the coffee. I've got Diet Dr Pepper cans to make up for the shortfall until the coffee shop down the road opens.

However, reading that the hotel had coffee makers in the rooms, I brought some of my own coffee and small pot basket filters to have decent coffee every morning. That was propper planning, but a mismatch with the equipment offered here.

Back to editing!

I have always loved being in trucking. When I was 'knee high to a grasshopper' I was taken in trucks to Hull and Liverpool. Then later taken to Northumberland and Scotland. Loved every minute of it. Then spent my working life around trucks and reached the dizzy heights of Transport Manager.

My time to leave was just as technology came in. No such thing as a mobile phone 'in my day'. 😁
