Good Morning All. Cloudy and a cool 54° out there this morning, not as cool as predicted but give it another hour or so. Today is not expected to get above 70° as there is a supposed to be a cool breeze from the north all day. Return to a more normal 80's-90's tomorrow.
Mundane chores all day yesterday, laundry, minor housekeeping and vacuumed the inside of both cars. Not as limber as I once was! The dew didn't dry off until mid-afternoon which limited some outdoor stuff. I detest getting my tennis shoes wet. No dew this morning, so I'll be able to do some spot mowing and weedeating, both chores that I really haven't had to do since early July.
I also need to start the task of putting the winter cover on the pool. I'll start today with removal of the ladder and vacuum, and installing the water blocks so I can disconnect and drain the exposed plumbing. But I will wait until tomorrow or Monday for the wind to die down before the actual cover goes on. Too much hassle fighting that wind otherwise.
Out in the train shed yesterday, I did resume ground cover and graveled areas.
I also cleaned up the vehicles that I already had in this scene. I'll be doing some minor detailing next, like painting the mirrors and door handles silver, painting some lights and adding license plates.
Problem with one though, even though it has never been exposed to direct sunlight, the clear styrene has discolored too extensively to use.
I can use a white glue to spread over the windows to produce a clear glass appearance, but there is a major gap that may be an issue.
Although the plan is to have it facing away from the viewer, so it may not be an issue.
As a side project, I want to rehab this semi truck that I recovered from my son's room after he moved out 20 years ago.
A question to any truck driver or other knowledgeable person, is how high do those exhaust pipes typically extend above those mufflers? I have seen quite a few variations over the years. I actually have a few others in the same shape that I got before they hit the dumpster.
Todd - I am not allowed to paint inside the house!!!. OK by me.
Curt - Usually after the sleep test, a CPAP mask is next.
Sherrel - Nine days for the 2022 return, good luck. I had no tax to pay in 2022. Social Security and interest payments didn't meet the minimum, and they don't count savings account withdrawals as income. First time since 1971 that I didn't pay at least something. 2023 will be different as we have to take some RMD's from IRA's this year. Starting in 2025, the combined RMD's will be greater than my income from any year in my working career.
General comments regarding some of yesterday's posts:
Bears are quite uncommon here in Texas, there have been a few spotted around the Big Bend National Park, but otherwise none.
Car colors: I generally wasn't picky about the color of cars for many years. I just bought reliable Honda Civics with manual transmissions. That was always the hard part, the manual transmission. I wasn't always willing to wait for a special order color from the factory, and I took any color if it was on the dealers lot or at a nearby dealership. Never had a black one as that isn't a good idea in Texas. Never was offered a white one. '88, '96, '04, & '09 were all good for at least 180K miles; after which the new car cost was easier than maintenance time. Some of them went to the kids, the '09 is still here and used as storage shed!

I had a recent offer on it, but he only offered $100 for scrap. It still runs, but I no longer need a commuter car.
Another musical birthday today, John Mellencamp is 72. TV talk show host and absurd (to me) lady Joy Behar is 81.
Everyone here have a wonderful Saturday.
