Yep, Government always wants their pound of flesh.
Looking forward to it. He returns to the Cav unit at Drum, that he was with before.Joe- Great news about your son. I'm sure you can't wait to see him again.
We do. ------- Even after we die.All Governments are the same!
Pay up sucker!!!!
Tom: We have a MHP that lives next door. A few months back I asked him why you get questions in monotone; abet st00pid ones. His answer was something like "You would be amazed on how people answer simple questions. From those answers we pretty much determine if the whole thing is on the up and up, or something is hidden. If I get the feeling something is being held back, then more questions and deeper digging are in order." As to the 'could care less part', he said "You know how many times a week I need to ask those questions? It gets old and I suspect that my attitude shows at that time. It is not what I want as I try to put on my good cop attitude to make it at least look like I care. I feel for the people, but sometimes the job gets in the way and things don't come out as I want." All in all, I think that he is a good cop and does care about people even though sometimes it might not show.Mike, We got the feeling the officer who came by didn’t care less. One of questions asked different ways 3 times was, “are you there was no reason for someone to take your car”. We didn’t know at that time it was hauled away with another car. It was in the driveway! The other question was, do you leave the keys in the car? Nope, showed him the electronic key fob as did Terry show him our traveling back up set.
Based on a previous stolen car while in the Great State of Texas it’s either already being taken apart for pieces or heading to Mexico.
Yes we Could have gotten a rental. I really didn’t care nor did Terry, we wanted to be home! I will sent the bill to the insurance for the flight from Detroit to Madison it might be cheaper then what a car rental would have been for another week. That just plain sucks!!!!
Having never dealt with anything like this before, would your insurance company pick up the cost of a rental car while this is being sorted out?
I just woke at 7:45am. Today is already better. Thank you. Terry’s car is in the garage and yes I checked!Hope you have better day tomorrow Tom be safe
Curt, thanks. But in the grand scheme of things it’s a little bump. Definitely aggravating but no one got hurt on our end or the general public. It does leave me with a poor impression of Ann ArborAfternoon All,
Started out the day doing a blood draw that may need to be redone. Don't ask. I had a late afternoon appointment at the sleep lab. The only reason I can figure out why we had it is so we can sign for the equipment. Ridiculous. Anyway, while I was there, I got my yearly flu and covid shot. I have to drive the wife to the same facility tomorrow at 6:30 am for her foot appointment. It still hurts her foot to drive. She will get vaccinated tomorrow.
Joe- Great news about your son. I'm sure you can't wait to see him again.
Smudge- Great video.
Willie- Nice detailing. Our price is $3.43 and rising.
TomO- Very sorry to hear about the stolen car and the other issues. My car has been broken into but not stolen.
I hope everyone has a good night.
Cool, nice that you have pride in the job that you clean up the truck. Love it!Lee, here's the single axle I drive. I transferred from water and sewer to highway. The stainless box I've been working on polishing up. Much more work to do on it but this is one once over. You can see how dull it was by the last pic.View attachment 174940View attachment 174941View attachment 174942
Todd, yep we learned when the SUV went missing to empty the car. We had ignored that lesson as a rental we had driven from Northern WIsconsin to NYC had stuff (tollway money) removed. The son was interning at Electric Lady Studios in NYC in 2002 and the niece was at school at NYU. In a very expense public parking underground lot they said leave the car unlocked. All the change was missing after 5 days sitting there. Complained and guy pointed to the sign saying Not Responsible. Then proceeded to give a 20% discount or about what we lost. He never asked how much we lost.Tom: We have a MHP that lives next door. A few months back I asked him why you get questions in monotone; abet st00pid ones. When we travel ( except for trucking ) we remove everything from the car when parked. Even small change in those console bins. We learned that the hard way. The crazy's will break a window for $0.02 then proceed to empty everything from the car into a bag/box. We had under the seats squeaky cleaned once. That was for the small change we happened to leave. Window was replaced by the Insurance company, but that did take an extra day. Got a rental and went to see the sights.
Sure, our vehicle was not stolen like yours, but ... it is a material thing and can be replaced. But what a PITA. Makes you feel like you have been sodomized.
Later
Sherrel, sounds like a personal problem old pal. Lay off the blue pills will ya??(stuck on bold again?)

Guy, so right. Some of the lowest of the low!Good Afternoon!
TomO - So sorry to hear about the stolen car incident. I dislike thieves worst of all. They have all the most distasteful attributes of the human species. Just a bunch of sneaky, lying, cowardly pieces of crap, and I truly wish we could go back to public executions as a corrective measure.
Frankly, I really liked the public figure, Ralph Klein, who publicly said, 'Shoot, Shovel, and Shut-up'.
I don't know how far the news goes, but, a couple of very dedicated hiker/camper/outdoor persons, and their dog were killed by a Grizzly bear in Alberta, just the other day. The bear was suspected to be 25yrs old (end f cycle) and starving. The fact is, it was just those poor peoples pure bad luck, to meet up with that bear.
That incident got me thinking, as I was walking through the forest. What's out there today!
As it is, I'm more afraid of the crazy women who likes to walk in the forest all alone.. I don't believe she's insane, but, I do think she's crazy.
I first noticed her by the uplifting messages she was leaving on hand-painted stones, here and there in the forest. Those painted stones have now escalated to ceramic figurines and finely made messages on clay. She seems to be getting more experienced at her hobby, and it's clear to me her work is improving.
Here's a photo of what I found at the base of a tree today:

She didn't paint the figurine, and it's made of so white a clay, that it washed out in the photo.
Also, I noticed the Forest Dept has put out bear warning signs. There arn't many wild berries, and the bears are coming into town to raid people's fruit trees. The bears are hungry this year.
Well, that's all the news. Gotta go.
Have a great evening!
Karl. Yep it’s in the hands of insurance. They are aware of the 3 colors I will refuse, White, black and those to me annoying neon colors! It’s a blip on the radar, aggravating but small in the big scheme of lifeGood Morning gang!
Temps in the lower 60s and overcast today, rain in coming thanks to tropical storm Phillipe and a second low pressure system. It's supposed to be yucky til tomorrow. Rain is supposed to end late morning tomorrow.
Tomorrow we (SWMBO and I) will be at the "Music on Main" festival in New Windsor. She has a space selling he decorated flower pots and plants, along with custom Christmas balls. With her Cricut machine, she puts all kinds of sayings on flower pots, t-shirts, Christmas balls, buckets, hats, etc. I got her that thing last year, and I have created a monster with it! I will just be the muscle, set up the canopy, table, sclep stuff from the truck to the stand, etc.
To all those who commented on "the girls". They are cute, but don't let that fool you. They went out this morning for the morning pee, then the little one came back in and peed on the living room floor! AAAARGH!! I know the little one is just a baby at 6 months so all I can do is try to correct her. She will get it eventually.
Tom, Sorry to here of the car disappearing. I agree, let the Ins Co do their job, get a new one and move on! Life's too short.
