As far as engine weights and bridges go the only time I heard of an engine or train being too heavy was they thought the UP big boy that weighted 1 million pounds might be too heavy for some bridges. The NYC had to add 8 extra wheels to its electric P engines because they were so heavy, that they split the rails underneath them that resulted in some I think deaths and law suits. As an engineer you always knew the weight of your engine or engines because that was calculated in your pay. We had to carry a book that had everything from speed limits to where spring switches were located. If there was a weight limit we had to know about for the Hudson, Harlem & New Heaven it would have been in there.

I’d be ok with that. The granddaughter asked if I wanted help, I said yes!

When granddaughters' smile like this, they are up to something.

Well, sometimes you can’t see the forest for the trees, or something like that. My helper asked,1 minute into her search, is this what you are looking for?

Needed the ruler for planting the fencing finally surrounding the transload yard.

Moving on

Afternoon all,

Lunch is done as is the laundry for now. Still have some more to do tomorrow. Gotta cleanup the kitchen yet. I spent yesterday afternoon "mowing".

Old man chasing kid on an infernal machine on his beautifully manicured lawn:

He actually did a decent job and paid attention to the old man directing him. The first pic was him learning to handle the machine in the back yard. All driving and no blades. I had it set for 1/2 speed. Then I did the edges and let him go, directing him to his overlap line. Wanted him to learn earlier in the season, but he had issues being a little short. He's old enough at 12 2/3 years old.

He was all smiles.

That’s great. Good help is hard to find

Had an old Gravely machine that you sat in a buggy and got pulled along. Son asked at about 11 years old if he could cut and earn some money, sure. Did the same thing you did, walked along no blades turning. He caught on quick and he cut slowly now with blades turning and me maybe 30’ behind. After a few passes, I said I’ll be on the deck but I was going to take a bathroom stop 1st, keep it slow. Get up on the deck and he is around the pool no problem. I get in the house and continue at the patio door watching him. He is on a straight line directly in front of me heading away. The engine popped and white then black smoke flying all over. So I yell what the hell did you do. I was kidding but oh was he pissed at me. Finally calmed him and said I saw what happened, nothing you did! Just bad timing. He never cut grass again until 7-8 years ago when he purchased his 1st house.

Good Morning all!
46F and partly - warming up good.

Got both servers done between other honeydu's. Had problem with the test server as the mariadb would not work proper. It would start then when you went to query something, it would die. Go figure. Both servers are pretty much identical so it took me a bit to figure out what I was doing wrong. Come to find out I loaded the mysql table on the errant one using a shell script; some like
foreach *.sql; do mysql < [FileName].sql; done.
I forgot to remove the mysql database from the test server files. Did remove it on the production server. My age is showing? It snowballed from there. After doing many rabbit holes, I finally, decided to reload the database application. Came up smooth this morning early. Waiting until Monday am to get the production server swapped with the current one as I need MtSky to update my profile to the new MAC address. I get a 'sticky' IP from them that hinges on that MAC addy. Good thing this process was not Earth stopping as I suspect I would have been cussing everybody and everything; even though I done it to myself!

Moving on: Warm enough to Green Machine the carpets in the Santa Fe. Will leave the doors open for a few hours as the wind is blowing slightly and should not take long for them to dry. Will put it on the local Facebook forsale thingie along with Craigslist. That should not take too long.

More ground work with the blue thing; probably until about 1600 when I usually run outa poop. Gee, just in time for happy hour too!

ARGGHHHHH!!!

Got the inline pressure gauge for my airbrush, brilliant, great NOOOOO! bloody thing has 1/4" connectors, the compressor and airline are 1/8"
Now to find some adapters, Oh Balls!
Adapters arrived this morning, tried fitting it on, the 1/8 are the correct thread, the 1/4 are a coarser thread so won't fit on the gauge properly, doesn't matter really I can't use the gauge, it's way too big, if I fit it to the compressor, the compressor falls over, try fitting it to the spray brush I can't hold the brush as the gauge is in the way, ah well, another idea bites the dust. :)

Getting ready to leave for the local train show to sell SOME of my excess train stuff.
Yesterday, I sold one train car in the 4 hours the show was open.
Hope I do a lot better today.
For a total of 10 hours of show time over two days, I sold enough vehicles and pipe loads to pay for the table, my gas back and forth, and a total profit of $5.00.
Attendance was off this year and most vendors barely covered expenses.
With the economy worrying about inflation, most people were only buying what they had budgeted to buy.
I will have to reconsider going to the next train show as a vendor.

as some one who is 5ft 4 and a half so 5ft 8 and a half even in 4 in heels and still dwarfed by her just 6footer husband I am flabbergasted by you tall guys. A friend is 6ft 6in and I thought him tall but his wife is 6foot and has a pair of 5in boots! They look the dog doo dahs when dolled up. especially as her boots are thigh high!
