My app says up to 12” by Sunday morning when it ends. The NWS warnings says the same

The local media cutey who lives on the next block over with her parents says 8” tops. I pulling for Emma’s guess
I think its anyone's guess at this point!

I have heard possibly up to 15-18" here but they all agree its going to be a foot or more.

The really heavy 2" per hour stuff has yet to show (early to mid afternoon) up and we are between 4"-5" now.

A great Saturday to all up and alive, out and about..........

Got some things to do today so gotta get busy. It is Tee shirt weather out today, about 70 degrees and sunshine but tomorrow is supposed to be much colder around 40 degrees for a high.

I picked up another drafting job to do and that is a good thing as I have gone on a spending spree for HO model railroad locomotives.
1. Proto 2000 Heritage Union Pacific 2-8-8-2, brand new old stock.
2. Sunset Brass 3700 series, ATSF 2-10-4 with can motor.
3. Athearn Genesis Santa Fe, F3 freight , A-B-B-A set, brand new old stock.

K & S metals is having a 40% off sale and today they are offering 50% off piano wire, so I ordered some more piano wire for use on my turnouts.

Hope everyone had great Thanksgiving and enjoying that last turkey (ham) sandwich.

Take care.....John

My new book arrived today!

I'm all but certain I know this story inside and out, but I will enjoy reading this book nonetheless!

Take it easy, snow can be heavy (like I need to tell you) just don't overdo it.
Yeah I know and thanks! I’m ok and actually feel good with the exercise. But, I’m not stupid as I know this is how some of the old guys go by moving snow like they are in their 20’s. I’m going to wait until about 10pm and go out again. The plows just came through again and only my snowblower will move that crap on the apron. But I figure they will come through around 9pm again before calling it a night. They usually start back up around 5am and should be done on our street by 7am.

The neighbor called Terry and gave her the name of her Crew she hired this morning. A nephew of her Son in Law so I will talk to them in the morning. They were gone by time Terry told me they were next door. I figure $60 a pop is a good deal to keep staying alive!

We're up to 5 inches + on the patio. Still snowing.

We made a cast iron pan pizza for supper. While it was baking I went out and used the new electric snow blower on the patio and in front of the garage. Trying to get the "apron" clean in front of it so I don't have a hump when the snow removal crew comes through the community.

Our maintenance isn't wasting money on plowing yet, but they did do at least one pass on the walking paths through the community.

Weather bug says we're supposed to get another 3-5 inches of precip, but some of it may be rain as it warms up past freezing overnight. We'll see what it looks like tomorrow.

Hurra, wir haben warmes Wasser! Es ist so gut, einen Klempner als Nachbarn zu haben.
a.k.a
Hurray,, we have hot water! Its so good to have a plumber for a neighbor!
Sorry about my Germanic slip there, I get that way sometimes.

1st time in 3 days I've had a hot steamy shower and a shave! The last few showers we tepid to cool at best. He needs his truck fixed, I jump in, my water heater dies and he appears. That's the neighborhood we live in. In a few weeks when the snow falls, my tractor will clear at least 4 driveways at least.

Still waiting on the snow here, not! The forecast has changed and they're now predicting a freeze tonight. Rain today was negligible, but it did rain quite heavily at my daughter's house around 3:30 this afternoon.
Glad that you got your hot water back Karl. I was beginning to smell you all of the way over here!;)

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday!

With the new year right around the corner, I decided to transition my focus to only my GMRC build. Today I sold Rocky Valley. I stripped it of most of the details, trees, etc…, minus the fuel tanks. I plan to use these items for a future project.

It was lots of fun to build and operate:)

Looking forward to continuing work on the GMRC layout.

Welp... I finished the heavy lifting on getting my book edited (first round)

As the saying from Hemingway goes:
Write Drunk
Edit Sober.

I've been editing since 5:30ish this morning. I just sent the first copy out to an alpha-reader in Ireland or Italy. Not sure what part of the EU she's in (dual citizen).

Thought I might go out with the snowblower again... and said NOPE. It's Mai Tai time. I stayed sober through the edit. So I earned an adult beverage.

So I'm in the PJs listening to Xmas tunes and giving the brain a rest.

That reminds me, I'm going the opposite way. I've got one KATO DC engine I need to find a home for. I purchased it as my first stab at getting a loco, only to decide I wanted to go with DCC. And, I was going to go transition era, but changed my mind on that as well.

I need to put this in the for sale bin.

After I decided to go Conrail and Burlington era, I don't need old DC only GN power.
You can easily upgrade it to DCC. For KATO its basically a drop in replacement light board

Well we survived the Thanksgiving events! Had 30 people here for dinner Thursday night and it was fantastic. The last of the guests departed today and all made it home ahead of bad weather. I did get a new locomotive, one of my g'nieces [6 years old] bought me a Hot Wheels locomotive! Uncle Kevin was pretty much buried in hugs the whole holiday time. I'm glad for even the "sticky" hugs from the little ones, that's why I like good shirts that can get tossed in the washer. Worked yesterday and today, the gunstore was busy both days, Black Friday is popular with hunters around here. Got home, took a nap, had a dinner of delicious leftovers and studied my lesson for Sunday School tomorrow. My g'nephew Lucas is hoping for snow so they don't have school Monday, typical 13 year old. My opinion is the weather folks are using a Magic 8 ball for their predictions.

Not on that one. Everything Kato made before about 2004 or so is hardwire, and until very recently, you need to mill out the frame to make room for a decoder.
Wow, no kidding. I just found this DCC installation.

I bought a whole bunch of DCC frames for the Katos of that era. I'll see if I can find them. The frames are already milled for a decoder.
