Good afternoon folks, 59 here and supposed to start working it's way colder the next couple days. Lady C is working away in the kitchen, preparing for our Church's Thanksgiving Testimony Service tonight and then for ongoing preparations for Thursday. One of our Nieces came by with flowers for her today and one of our Greatnieces, Emma was by helping with baking as well. One Nephew is arriving in a bit from Texas with more family arriving tomorrow. Place will be packed! God is certainly good.

Fish oil, magnesium, cholesteroff, turmeric, vit E and B complex. That B complex is stinky, tastes bad, and makes my urine dark yellow. Supposed to help with energy, but it hasn't.
need to order in traditional style
I'm glad that they do as I'd be sitting there for hours... haha
My wife and kids were getting their covid shots religiously. I only got the JJ and then when that was ruled a bust, I had to get the 2 shot moderna. That's it. They got covid twice while I never did. Everybody uses alcohol to kill the bacteria. I drink it.
Isn't that ball supposed to be clear though?
Magic 8-balls are black.
We shall be in Leeds tomorrow, so -----
THOUGHT FOR WEDNESDAY
"Your future honours the choices you make today."
Yes, I forgot about the wafer underlying the gingerbread. I have never figured out what that wafer is.
Not catholic but my understanding it’s made pretty much like the communion wafers. Don’t know if that is true.
I need a lebkuchen.
or the trash song "Last Christmas" which has nothing to do with Christmas
That seems to be the national Christmas song of Japan. It’s always playing when you go somewhere.
Not Catholic but my understanding it’s made pretty much like the communion wafers. Don’t know if that is true.
I need a lebkuchen.
I can tell it's about the same consistency!

Good evening. It's partly cloudy and 74.
Bob is doing some stuff here on the forum, hopefully it clears up the errors we're seeing here.
In other news, we were supposed to have our final checks deposited in our accounts by 5PM today. Guess what didn't get deposited? It's currently 7:45PM or so...

This just came across my desk. I used to go there frequently for supplies and hobby news.:
We’re at a second hand thrift store called Second Street. Near where my son’s mission headquarters is. We were here in June and the wife and daughter bought a ton of nice stuff. Second hand stores are really nice because Japanese culture doesn’t “allow” people to donate old ratty or bad stuff. So a lot of stuff is well kept and almost new looking. So the wife is using FaceTime to find stuff with and for the daughter who is back home. And my son is trying to find some jeans or pants. I looked at the model trains but this store doesn’t have a lot. So I’m just sitting and waiting.
But I did buy my first gachapon. Those are the toys and stuff from the capsule machines.
Good morning! It's Wednesday, 39°F and partly cloudy.
Have a good day!

I'm up, showered and about to head out to the grocery, third day in a row.
I got back yesterday from the grocery run, and wife had added Milk and Eggs to the list. As in out of milk, and only two eggs left. Wish she had told me before I went yesterday.
Got 1000+ words worded, and more to come. But, gotta take the cat to get his monthly arthritis shot. So no writing until errands are done.
A pastry brush and some milk. Three little slits in the middle of the pastry. In the oven 25-30 minutes. Check if brown? Another ten minutes or so if not.
Pastry doesn't (generally) crack doing that. I do not understand the use of foil? Is that an American thing?
David: Foil is used to keep the edges from browning too much. There are commercial ones for cake/brownies that work for pies; magi-cake is one I know of. You wrap those around the outside of pan and the inside edges stay soft. I have found since the pie dish is at an angle, all you need is something on the top around the edge to do the same.
Apple and Blueberry are apparently are two different critters. BB bakes @ 425 for 20 minutes, then @ 375 for almost an hour. Guess that helps your mass of stuff congeal into something. Like Louis, I used the commercial dough, of which I don't really like but had no time to create from scratch.
In any event, 1st pie is gone, baby gone.

Good morning. It’s 31f degrees moving up to 33 for the high of the day. Overnight was not as cold 19 as predicted but I was sleeping and wouldn’t have been out in it anyway. The wind is steady in the 20’s but the gusts they say are in the 50’s and have definitely been bending the trees since around noon yesterday. The high wind warnings are out for all of Wisconsin.
I will head over to the friend’s layout to measure for the western approach bridge to the swing bridge scene after lunch. He and his wife tri-athletes and work out 5 mornings a week. I’m a morning person but we’ll get the bridges and PM right. I bet he’s tweaked the bridge scene 500 times since I dropped the Swing bridge off for test fitting. I ran into some frustration in the Paper Mill build yesterday. See the thread…
This afternoon at friend is only a couple hours and Terry has no plans so when I come home it will be back to the bench.
Be well
Good Morning All!
33F @ 90% with white on the ground. Not much, should go away later. White Fri, Mon and Tue according to the guessers. Good thing it was not cold 3 weeks ago as we got ~5" rain.
Not much today - I actually wore out my Logi mouse. Would not 'track' with the wheel at normal speed. Was kinda move, wait, move. Pretty frustrating. Took it apart - had no fuzz on the ball rollers or hairs in the roller axles and everything appeared tight. Could not tell if those rollers were worn down or not. So, kept the dongle and trashed the rest, put in a NiB Ergo 575. Now I can go from left screen left side to right screen right side with just a few rolls of the ball. They want $40 for these things now. Think I paid $20ish when I bought 3 or 4 a few years back.

1st pie is gone, baby gone.
I guess no one cared it cracked, and why should they? Blueberry pie is the best, and yours looked fantastic!
Morning all,
31° and clear with a high of 45° later. There are rumors it may snow over the weekend, but no real accumulation expected, mostly an inch or less here, but probably none at all.
Sad to see a hobby shop close. There is one train related store in the area, but he's only open on Saturdays and doesn't carry much stock. He opened when all the others closed. We have a Hobby Town that was sold and moved, removing most of the train stuff they carried. Now appears they cater mostly to R\C and some toys instead.
Good morning all!
Happy Hump day!
Curently a very windy 31F and that is going to be our high for today. Winds are fierce howling at around 30 Mph. Good thing is that
this will take care of the rest of the leaves that had still not come down. Bad thing is all the neighbors who have not bothered to rake
theirs will probably end up in my yard.
Busy day today. Prep for tommorrow has begun. Wife is getting the bird ready to bake off, and we have a ham also to cook. Later today
when carving I will get plenty of samples. We are expecting around 23 this year. It is a bit down this year as not everyone chose to come
back to the area this year.
Have a safe day everyone!
