Michael I made a mistake in my calculations, There's only 1,008 of track. This is the same reason I haven't been winning on the horses lately. Poor calculations. Swal

Pie. I've tried it and it is very good.Holy glucose spike Batman, I smell cranberry cake!
I have to tell my wife. She loves baking for the holidays.Pie. I've tried it and it is very good.
And to think that it might all have ended up at the dump!Yesterday I posted a thread about my uncle's track my golf friend carpenter was going to bring to the dump. Today he brought me the second load and I way under calculated exactly how much there was. It turns out there are 12 (3ft tracks per bundle or box) and 18 bundles which figures out to be 648 feet of straight track. Then there's 8 boxes of curved track with 12 tracks per box that comes out to 360 feet which grand totals to 1,008 feet. I did count them all, but it looks like there's 20 switches. Some never taken out of the box they came in. Electronic brand new still in the boxes. Crossing gate signals etc. On eBay this track sells for around $2.00 a ft. I have $3,000.00 worth of track and electronic sitting in a spare bedroom. Swal

A pastry brush and some milk. Three little slits in the middle of the pastry. In the oven 25-30 minutes. Check if brown? Another ten minutes or so if not.Good Morning All!
31F @ 87% overcast. To be around the same temps in the morning for a week-ish. Daytime in lower 40's.
Site is having some problems - getting a ton of 'database errors' that come and go.
Getting more done on the Switch Controller. Having problems with the FET's for connecting RailA/B to the point/frog rail. Oh, well, I will get it right sooner or later.
I did 'do my duty' yesterday and made Blueberry pies. Had a piece after dinner and it was yummy!

Those cracks happened when I put the foil around the outside to keep the edges from burning.... My bad!

My ex tried to pull this BS few times, like i didn't have enough on my plate. Between 11-12 hour shifts behind a wheel of a truck, maintaining two, sometimes three cars, fixing mostly of what she and the kids tore up, plus building stuff around the house and maintenance in general. But maybe your circumstances are different. Problem is women can't sit still and they think men are built the same. We need peace, that's what the home is for, not constant drama. I still allowed too much BS anyway. But her decision about divorce was her own. Ultimately i learned a few things just in case i happen to be in a serious relationship someday again.Thank you for your clearly broadcasted enthusiasm. Although the remarks were humor-free, your input has been officially logged as an unplanned morale-boosting event.
Isn't that ball supposed to be clear though? Our local meteorologists working on their next bogus forecast:

Wife turned on the local "Non-stop Christmas music" station on our way to the granddaughter's program last night. I turned it off after 10 minutes of commercials, which is about all I ever hear when I've turned that station on during the season (or the trash song "Last Christmas" which has nothing to do with Christmas).I heard my first Christmas song on the radio today on my way home from the bank!
I share your opinion to a tee! It seems to be the first song Alexia cues up every time!I've turned that station on during the season (or the trash song "Last Christmas" which has nothing to do with Christmas).
I've used foil around the edge of a pie to keep the edge from getting too done, (burnt) before the pie is finished baking. My method of baking is a premade piecrust and a can of pie filling. My wife bakes from scratch.I do not understand the use of foil? Is that an American thing?
My first marriage was a learning experience; nightmare is more like it. This time I am living the dream. I’ve leveled up from “husband” to “husband 2.0,” now with fewer arguments and more listening.Ultimately i learned a few things just in case i happen to be in a serious relationship someday again.
Crybaby Christmas."Last Christmas"
Yep, took me 34 years to find mine, and it had been a great 20 years!. That’s when I knew she was the one.
Don't give up, there is hope my friend. Have faith, God is always with you.
Definitely a new one on me. My grandmother and aunt never used foil. I follow their way.I've used foil around the edge of a pie to keep the edge from getting too done, (burnt) before the pie is finished baking. My method of baking is a premade piecrust and a can of pie filling. My wife bakes from scratch.
Shipping those 3 foot sections of track can get to be pretty expensive. Plus finding a way to ship the pieces so they do not get bent.Yesterday I posted a thread about my uncle's track my golf friend carpenter was going to bring to the dump. I am the QC inspector for all baked goods in our house. Terry has cut most of the sweeteners down to about 25% of the recooended for her baking. Honestly no one for the years I’ve been a diabetic has noticed. At work they couldn’t get enough of her baking before and after she cut back on sweeteners.Good Morning All. Foggy and 48°; although not as foggy as last evening when I couldn't see the further car in the driveway less than 30' away, while standing on the back porch. Upper 60's today and then a colder period coming up starting with a cold front tonight. May have to dig out the blue jeans tomorrow for the second time his season. Only supposed to be in the low-40's tomorrow morning. Low-60's for Thanksgiving Day. Might freeze again on Sunday.
As I posted yesterday, the doctor visit was uneventful, traffic was not affected by the just ended rain. No one working in any of the four highway construction zones that I had to pass through. Made a few stops on the way home including the grocery store to buy fruit and beer. We're bringing fruit salad and "regular" beer to the big family Thanksgiving dinner Thursday. Another relative is bring the "lite" beer. Not sure how much beer is needed for 23 Irish folks celebrating Thanksgiving, so I bought something that I will drink at home as well. Maybe some of the 14 kiddos might get a sip since at least 5 are in high school. Despite the rain Sunday night, I was later able to walk around part of the yard with my pruning tools and trim some sucker branches off many trees. And there still is no water in my pond since it all soaked in and there was no runoff.
Today will start with a possible honey-do list. No physical list here but there are always a couple of requests. Maybe I can slip outside unnoticed! That firewood that I gathered up on Sunday might be dry enough to stack today.
It was another lazy day out in the train shed yesterday. I did run a lot of trains though. I do feel lucky that I do get to spend at least an hour or more out there every day.
I am reminded that I still have about 150 more pictures from the various train museums that I visited during my vacation last month. One layout at Traintastic in particular was more impressive than some of the others. A visitor from Minnesota to their old location was quite impressed, so he donated his home layout to them some years ago. It took 4 semi-trailers to get it to Gulfport MS. It was in storage for a few years until they got their new location prepared for it.

Todd - Me and my remaining 3 local siblings rotate Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter dinners. We generally have between 40 and 48 people show up. All are offspring or the partners of my parents descendants. I am technically the Patriarch of the family now. And those are just the locals, there's over a dozen who no longer live in the area. I did Easter at daughter #1's home earlier this year with 42 folks. My next turn is Thanksgiving 2026. Last time we did Thanksgiving in 2022, there were 48 people that I hosted. They are always raucous affairs.
Troy - It's just my area of Texas with no Prairie Dogs. There's plenty in West Texas.
David (Marlin) - That's good news about the test results.
Tom O - That home baking is a bitch to avoid. I don't normally indulge in desserts, but my wife bakes up a storm during the holidays. I have to help eat some so they don't end up in the compost pile.
Michael - Thanks for your concern regarding the tornadoes. However they were 300 miles away down near Houston. That would be in Hughie's area, although I think that they might have been a bit north of him.
Everybody have a terrific Tuesday.
Good afternoon, all. No tornado near us. About 100 homes on the north side off Houston saw some damage. Spent most of the day helping the Conductress get the house ready for guests.Wife turned on the local "Non-stop Christmas music" station on our way to the granddaughter's program last night. I turned it off after 10 minutes of commercials, which is about all I ever hear when I've turned that station on during the season (or the trash song "Last Christmas" which has nothing to do with Christmas).
Anyone hear how close the Houston tornado was to Texas Hobo (Hughie)?
John I was not planning on shipping them by mail. Either bring the whole lot over to the Stormville, NY Airport yard sale or going to one of the local train shows and ask a dealer if they would buy the whole lot. I've had really good luck at the yard sale in the past selling a whole truck load of stuff before 1pm and then having to stick around because you can't leave before 4 pm. Train stuff goes quickly at this yard sale. The yard sale takes up what use to be an airport with over 200 people selling things. SwalShipping those 3 foot sections of track can get to be pretty expensive. Plus finding a way to ship the pieces so they do not get bent.
You might want to check at your local post office so you don't get burned on shipping costs, assuming you offer this stuff on e-bay or similar selling platform/forum for sale.
Just trying to help here.
Take care, John
