The new main bedroom is done. Joe did a great job of installing the new floor. molding and hardware for the closet doors etc. and it's looks absolutely great. I cut up the king size bed and made some unique furniture out of it but right now I'm in the rec room working on a RR bridge alley display for the 8-foot top shelve of the new bedroom room. Swal

Good morning from still dark So. Central Wisconsin. 24f degrees now, again heading to 49. Not bad for November as the seasonal is 45 and 29.

Hockey last night with #1 Wisconsin playing #15 St. Thomas didn’t really play until the final 1:38 in the game. The blow out Thursday night must have lulled the Badger team into thinking we’ll win just because we are Wisconsin. A gritty over matched team played its hearts out and had a 3-2 lead with 1:38 left in the game. The Badgers tied it with 1:02 left in a frantic display for 36 seconds. Then at 1 second on the clock the Badgers won it! But in a review the referee said it did not cross the line before the buzzer. During the sudden win overtime St Thomas touched the puck once in just under 2 minutes losing to the Badgers.

The grandson plays 3 today. At 8:00am about 15 miles up the road and at 10:45 at home. Then a 8pm on the Northside of Milwaukee. Tomorrow again but at 9am at the Milwaukee rink, a noon game about 40 miles north of Milwaukee and finally a 6pm game Sunday evening at home. Their scheduler should be tried for causing ridiculous travel expenses! This is the easy part of the travel schedule. Over the 1/1/2026 holiday they play a tournament in the UP of Michigan.

Other than cleaning my bench yesterday there was no bench time for trains. This morning the plan is to design a Christmas card from the Wisconsin Interstate

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those who... wait? what was I going to say?

It's Troy again...

Avoiding the swamp paid off. Just ran my numbers for words worded in November, and it's more this month, than the rest of the year (book wise). Words here don't count.

I've done 18K this month alone.

Wrote a fun story of getting my mojo back at the author conference. I'll summarize.

Basical, my WW2 veteran grandfather was great motivator. His main way was to threaten to put his "Size 9 shoe" in my posterior.

He was army, not army air corp back then. But arguing with the ai wasn't working at 4:30 this morning. I settled on that pic for a good motivation image.

Well, at the author conference, that size 9 shoe was a writing business coach I have followed for several years. Dealing with Mom's decline and passing, then all of the "Waves vaguely at the world" crap had me spirialing.

That's when the writing coach told me to tune out. Turn off. Unfollow the news, the political friends... just turn it off and go back to being happy. Work on getting myself out of the world-is-burning frame. It can burn without me.

Write my stories, sell the books, make money.

Sometimes, gramps sends a size 9 shoe from the great beyond.

I'm happier now. I just have to ignore the political world.

Part of my ignoring was working on my little toy soldiers yesterday after doing my 2700 words for the day.

Here's one I 3D printed, then modified to fit the Ghostbusters gone bad theme.

and I finished assembling 50 of the scantily clad female demons (succubi)

Those should be interesting to paint. Especially when you see what they're doing to the little Stay-Puft guys...

OK, back to wording the words.
Well, maybe I'm put some primer on the succubi. They seem like they want to be painted.

Good Morning All. Clear and 45° out there this morning. No real change in our forecast except the high today has been revised downward to 66°. Still expecting heavy thunderstorms starting around dusk tomorrow and lasting overnight, with a 2" total predicted. At least it's not snow! It has snowed here in November but it's rare. Our first snow if we get any at all, is usually in January

If you're old enough to remember this, it's time to ask what were you doing on this day back in 1963? I was at recess playing football with classmates in the 7th grade.

Ho-hum day yesterday around here. Did a load of laundry, burned the burn trash and did a little more work on the compost pile. Finished emptying the car of the non-refrigerated groceries that I didn't unload in the rain Thursday. Mother Nature did a good job of washing both cars! I chose to wait until today to prepare the Prime Rib roast for supper, in order to clear some leftovers out of the fridge instead. Looking forward to doing that today. No real plan for today either. Might just head out to the roadside and cut down a tree that was damaged by the wind last month, and is invading the road easement a bit. Better than waiting for the county road crew to hit it, run over it and drag it up the road next Spring when they mow again!

It was also a slow day out in the train shed yesterday. I did a little painting of details, some already destined for the layout, some just to finish up. I tried to better organize one of the shelves under the layout so I might not lose track of what's there.:( Ran some trains, primarily on the lower level. Cleared some cobwebs here and there. These tiny spiders are definitely HO scale.

Troy - It seems like the gaming companies were really smacking customers with the tariff costs. ScaleTrains had written in their newsletter that they were going to absorb some of that cost and would not pass it on. I thought that $5 on a $200+ loco was pretty reasonable. I can't compare to other manufacturers because I haven't bought anything else.

That's about it this morning. Everyone have a safe and productive Saturday.

Good morning gang!

49° and drizzly looks like that is going to stay with us most of the day with a high of only 51°.

Tomorrow is the local train show up in Westminster. Have you got two tables and a huge pile of stuff to load into the truck. Hopefully I’ll come home Sunday afternoon with some moolah.

I was in sixth grade when the Principal made the announcement that Kennedy had been shot. We were just settling in after lunch. The entire school then went into church before being sent home early. Most of the nuns were crying and I think to many of the kids that was more unsettling to see then hear about the news
