Good morning, Everyone!

I took a day off yesterday. The morning was "blah", but I felt better as the day went on.

I put Christmas lights in the living room windows. Multi-color lights around the windows and candles. Three sets of old school candles. Two with three lights and one with five. The center window is bigger than the other two. All with red and green bulbs. Some might say it is tackey, but I love it! It is certainly not elegant as Angela would like, but she tolerates me because she loves me

The NFL channel on Amazon's Prime TV had highlights of old Thanksgiving Day games on yesterday, I loved it!

Enjoy your day Everyone!
The "Festival of Greed" seems to start earlier every year. Black Friday sales are starting already. The true Christmas Season starts the first day of Advent. A Merry Festival of Greed to all, and to all a good night.

I see it as more of a festival of giving, and I don’t think it’s ever too early.

All I ask for is to share the wonder of the season.
Hope - trusting in God’s promises
Peace - preparing hearts for Christ’s presence
Joy - celebrating the nearness of salvation
Love - embracing the gift of Christ

Like anything, it’s all about how you see it.

I saw Black Friday sales in July!

Blessings and peace be with you always my friend and all of us.

Well, Howdy there internet people, and those craving your warm-up Xmas holiday.

It's Troy again, looking forward to double-smoking a ham on faux Xmas.

Yep, I'm one of those who believes that Turkey day is just a practice run at Xmas. Since I'm secular, I just enjoy whatever version of the Yule/Winter Solstice season is celebrated.

Never been fond of turkey though. Speaking of turkeys... ;)

One of my self-improvement reordering of Troy's world right now is to try to get my head firmly back into writing. That means tuning out 99.9% of what the idiots in government are doing. Then changing my attitude about life a bit.

I've dabbled in the meditation and philosophy of Secular Buddhism before. And I decided to give it a go after an author friend, and behavioral coach directed me to understand the Enneagram personality profile.

The Enneagram system (what makes you tick? what is your big fear motivation? What is your big desire motivation? type of stuff) is good at helping me understand some of the Why I do some behaviors. But the first book recommended (that was written by an author, for authors) didn't make sense to me. I was more confused than learned about the Enneagram system.

My author mentor suggested that I try some other reading on the Enneagram that digs deeper dives into it, instead of the 30,000 ft view the first book gave. And the one that made sense was The Buddhist Enneagram, written by mostly secular buddhist scholar and mentor.

Wow! It connected with me. And that awakened a desire to dive back into starting a meditation practice. I'll get to working on that this afternoon. First breakfast, then wording some words.

Good morning all!

Happy Hump day!

Currently 39F heading up to a high of only 42F. Very cloudy skies. Sure looks and feels like snow, though no precipitation is
in the forecast.

Nothing much going on today. Usual Wednesday chores and do have a few errands to run later.

Hope to get to the basement tonight for some train time!

Have a safe day everyone!
