ESU decoders and JMRI are not entirely 100% compatible. AUX assignments are not always logically assigned. Some AUXs are logic AUXs and some are power AUXs. My best advice is to buy an ESU Lokprogrammer. You'll have that programmed the way you want in no time at all.
This. Just buy the darn ESU programmer if you want to do anything more than plain DCC stuff.

Ouch! $140 for the programmer. I only have 3 ESU decoders and probably won't be buying any more. Gotta think long and hard about this.

I did a 8 in CV8 thing and per the book, the defaults are:
F0 switches the directional lighting.
F1 switches output AUX1.
F2 switches output AUX2.
etc.
It does move fwd and bkwd, but no lights. I hit all the F keys and nothing happened.

@kbkchooch that turkey should not be losing his head with Santa, it's not Santa's fault.

The turkey should enjoy the decorations and music while he can. Soon enough he will lose his head for good.

Good morning, Everybody!

I'm not working today; I had a not so good night. It's okay, I've been doing good and I'm not so bad. I've been worse, I've been better, it is not so bad to be in the middle. My blood pressure is good as is my glucose. I just feel like 💩

I don't know what congress thinks, but I say "No pay no work! No work no pay!" We are still a capitalist country. Neither the communists nor the fascist have taken over yet.

I once worked for a company that couldn't make payroll on Friday. I was working somewhere else Sunday, for more money!

Only once in my life did I leave a job to take lower pay. When I was working as a union paper worker I got laid off 10 days after my first daughter was born. The next week I was washing trucks overnight for Ryder. Everybody told me I was crazy. It turned out to be a smart move. I steadily advanced and became Ryder's tire maintenance manager. From there I advanced to become a commercial tire salesman and made more money than I thought was possible. Which provided the financing for going into business for myself.

Thank God I was born in the USA where we can be rewarded for working long and hard.

Here are quick ones i found in my picture file on the phone:View attachment 247180
This first one if you look at that brick structure (i don't know what it was) shows not only brick on top of the stone, but also wooden beams as part of the retaining wall. This is in Wilmington, Delaware on Northeast Corridor.
Next one is the station/hotel in Martinsburg, West Virginia.View attachment 247181
You can see two different styles of cut stone at the hotel. Maybe i can find more from my picks, and now that you mentioned it, it gives me more reason for photography.
Did you go a little further in and see the Wilmington Maintenance facility for Amtrak?

Everything I have is ESU so the programer is helpful. The other thing is ESU does firmware updates. Once a year I put them on the programer to see if there are updates.

Maybe that is one of those little class action checks you have been getting?

I don't fly any more but If I flew into Fort Wayne, "Where's my cookie mother..." 🤪
For a little regional airport
-albeit with a Nat'l Guard Fighter Air Wing based there
Fort Wayne is GROWING it's airport. We're in a multi-year renovation and expansion phase.

And there is a cute little display of "Welcome to Fort Wayne" with an old suitcase from the 1960s that they keep filled with the cookies. Grab one as you exit the security zone.

Fort Wayne is the 2nd largest/most populated city in Indiana. We're at just over a quarter million people (about 260K). For Comparison, Indianapolis is approx 900K. Evansville (in the toe of the boot of Indiana) is half our size. And we have a long runway, an International designation, but a small terminal with only 10 gates, three of which are still getting renovated/expanded.

I was actually surprised that long term parking was near full when we flew out last week. Looks like they're adding a second, larger long-term parking lot as part of the expansion.

Our little airport is growing up.

Every time I flew into Ft Wayne I never got cookies :(. . Maybe because it was always the last flight of the night, 2 hours late, at 1-2am
They used to have a "cookie ambassador" when it was archway, and then into the new provider, but that's a volunteer opportunity now, and not many are volunteering.

And, with the spate of construction, the little "Welcome to..." suitcase display, grab a bag on your way out section is very easy to miss.

I've sneaked in there several times. First time when i was still in highschool back in 1992. But that was a different time and generally one of the guys just warned you to be careful. Magical place for a teenager. One thing i regret was not spending some film on the roundhouse, which was standing there until about 1994. These "Hippos" are still standing there on one of the "Y" tracks leading to the inspection pits:
