Good Morning All. It's clear here and 34° this morning. Frost is just beginning to form on the cars, but not on the ground anywhere. The granddogs raced out when I opened the door earlier, suddenly stopped, quickly did their business and raced back onto the porch to be let in. I guess that they didn't hear me last night when I told them it would be colder today. They also didn't notice that I had started a fire in the wood-burner before bed! Should reach 60° today and 66° tomorrow for Thanksgiving. The NWS has inserted rain into Saturday night's forecast, that wasn't there yesterday. Another cold front hits before dawn Sunday. And that's my weather.
Today is the annual day where we ask "what were we doing 60 years ago?", when we heard the news of the Kennedy assassination. That is if you were alive at the time. I was at lunch recess at school (7th grade) in Dallas Texas, and when the boys returned to the classroom, all of the girls who were gathered around the TV set were crying. The mothers from the Ladies Society at our Catholic Church/school had volunteered to serve lunch at the reception that he was headed for.
The wind yesterday was biting, and I had to break out the blue jeans and sweatshirt to do outdoor tasks; I didn't do many, but I did mow for about 45 minutes around the train shed. Instead I did holiday preparation stuff inside. Today, I will prepare 4 lbs of Rutabagas to take to the family dinner gathering tomorrow. It's a traditional holiday vegetable, but I don't know how I was assigned that one since I had never made them before. It's actually easier than mashed potatoes, so I am not complaining.
A productive day out in the train shed yesterday. I painted the sidewalk on the bar.
I had to make a new roof for it, since the old one that I removed was a scale 1' too narrow. Old one on top of the new unpainted one.
That's it for now, as I will take two days off for the holiday.
Curt - I am looking forward to
finally seeing pictures of your current project.
Louis - You're worse than me when it comes to turkey sales. Four of them!! This year Kroger isn't giving them away for free with the $25 purchase. Last year I got three.
I read an interesting theory yesterday regarding the current rise in the Stock Market. This fellow claims that it is all artificially driven by a few institutional investors who are trying to make the current president's economic plan look good to the American public. Hmmmh! I'll take advantage of it, even though current grocery, fuel, utility and housing costs are considerably up from three years ago.
Everyone have a great day, and Happy Thanksgiving to all in the USA.
