I bought this car because of the looming issue with petroleum. I don't want to wait till I'm standing in line for one to be delivered a year or so later and have no trade in value of my internal combustion engine vehicle. Same with the solar panel array.
It's coming, whether ya agree with it or not.

The Washington whoever stumbled into that win. I have no faith in their mediocre performance. They used to be a great "team" back when Joe Gibbs was coach, but now, they're just a bunch of individual athletes, bent on their own recognition.
Well done dad! That should help keep your little girl's energy costs down. I hope your back is not worse for the wear.

I have yet to see the game. I can't comment on the specifics of it. I have seen the Commanders play a few games this season. Their defense is fist rate!

I understand where you are coming from, A few offensive skill position players in the NFL are showboats. I have not seen any of the Commanders show that.

NFL defenses must play as a unit. There is no place on an NFL defense for an individual showoff. They must play in unison, or the defense will be ineffective. The offensive line is the same. The Hogs were not the most talented bunch, but they played in unison, making themselves the most effective offensive line in the NFL at one point.

I will say I don't like all the on-field celebrations after almost every play. Every team does it. It is a generational thing, I guess.

Joe Gibbs was an elite coach! He must be counted among the best ever. Three Superbowl trophies with three different quarterbacks. No one else has ever done that!

I have not seen any of the new shows. It's called Strange New Worlds, correct? I think the rest of the series are reruns of things like TOS, TNG, Enterprise, DS9, etc, correct?
There's also Discovery and Picard.
I watched several Picard shows, and Discovery up to the third season or so. Picard's main character is an 80-something year old retiree, and Discovery was okay until they did a time travel thing, and the wheels promptly fell off it. I really don't like all the current social issues being ham-handedly foisted on the viewers in both series.

Afternoon All,

Just back from Dad's VA appointment. I had hoped to get 2 issues resolved in one visit but have to go back Friday :(. Earlier today I plastered the wall hole and after getting home sanded it. Tomorrow I'll paint it. The floor guys finished the repairs in Dad's room and put a second coat of water block (can't remember the name😣) in his shower. The damage to the floor was Dad's fault not the contractor and we expected to pay for it, but the contractor said no! Talk about customer service. The flooring is 2-3 years old since install and took almost 2 boxes of vinyl planking to fix.

Tomorrow I need to vacuum the pool, paint the wall, and clean floors downstairs.

Louis- I watched on the news the tree being erected and thought it looked kinda sad and scraggly.

Patrick- It's supposed to be 52 F in the morning when I walk. That's like an ice age locally.

Dave- Nice scene. It looks real to me.

Willie- Nice scenes.

I hope everyone has a good night.

A fellow Star Trek fan! Did you have a chance to see the new Star Trek shows on Paramount? I enjoyed them!

Do you know where the original studio set of Star Trek is....I happen to know the owner who bought it. He moved the entire set from California to Upstate New York including the Lucille Ball Studio from I Love Lucy!

Check it out....

That's what turned me off from "discovery" It was too woke for me.

Yes! My sister got to visit that. Super cool. She got to sit in the captain's chair! I forget which city it was in. One I've heard of, but a little more obscure than Albany or Syracuse

[edit] Ticonderoga, NY. I had to Google it to remember. My sister and her hubby took their RV and camped nearby... visiting the fort, etc. She's a huge TOS fan too.

Not sure what ya mean.
I was hauling the wood to my daughter's house.
I think he’s like Tesla modern ev pulling wood old fashion basic, the thing is if we have the solar it is plentiful summer,, up and done autumn and spring but scarse winter, I have 29.6kw of the kit but the last week I have used the tesla several times but so much cloud means only got free 50 miles I actually had to buy some electric, but I use wood in the winter to offset my lack of solar, so doh using the Tesla to shift wood is in fact efficient, and electricity is still far cheaper than petrol or diesel and free wood for if you cut your own as we do and transporting to his daughter totally makes sense, if he had to pay the fuel costs of a greedy 4x4 petro or diesel chugger it just would not be as cost effective. Ot cost me 6 pounds to add 80 miles plus free 50 miles when sunny, how much would 130 miles cost you on a petrol/diesel making the cost of transporting the wood to daughter more costly. It might have been cheaper in his Y to load up the boot minus the trailer anytime he visits daughter but that’s a different duiscussion.
plus summer if he can cut his wood, and has solar free to dry his wood he vastly reduces buying in wood, win win.
we never bothered removing fallen wood in our arboretum until we put in the wood stoves so there’s a lot of wood we can now store in the polytunnel, yes it needs time to dry but it’s free,as we dithered over installing ther wood we took no heed of getting the wood in when the summer was hot so we have bought in 5 tonne…oops shot ourselves in the foot but ho-efully next year we will be ahead of the game

solar. Summer. spring. Autumn. Winter
more than we can use ups and downs ups and downs. Low sun less even if no cloud
Do travelling whilst free

wood. No heating so use free. Ups and downs. Ups and downs. Low sun use more wood
Elec. use wood when no elec. Heat house if cold otherwise
Use solar while sun shines cook when cooking heats house
early. Enough so not burning continuously
Avoid travel if no free
Unless very cold

we also use battery operated tools and are considering a battery electric ev tractor,as the fuel saving long term
will be worth the investment approx 30,000 and we would use it most summer, and shifting wood spring autumn,
far less in winter which is also when low solar. And grass not growing as fast anyway.

n.b. The initial purchase is higher of course but our solar original said 12 years to payback and the higher fuel costs have reduced this looking at 8 years or better to cover set up costs then actually free.
I suspect that the real low food days are a thing of the past as is the low cost fuel days, our money is likely going to go less further rfor some time to come. and cold winters are going to be costly. But for third world countries the crunch will cost lives.
At present using the polytunnel to store and dry wood is more cost effective than growing food,so we will balance doing both,at present we have the smaller ducklings penned in their two as its warmer. the earlier babies are with the adults and having to compete.
all things are a balance
but as we do goats and birds as a hobby and do not sell they are only viable while we have spare cash each month,if things get tight we will have to cull birds and eat them, goats too, bees feed themselves and we get honest, but this year they were left as my recovery means no time to uptake the honey or stop swarming, good for bee numbers though.
ho hum, everything is a balance

Fortunately footage of the DISMANTLING of the original Star Trek set has survived:

The "cookie" company, BTW, is Nabisco. NaBisCo. So the computer was half right.

The margarine company was "Oleo."

[You had to be there for both, I think, and you had to be on the US side of the pond]
