Good morning. The forum is still wonky!

Tried to use the bot spray and every time got this message

Sixty years ago today, I went on active duty in the USMC! I stood on the "Yellow Footprints" at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego CA and set out on the adventure of my life! 🤣

SEMPER FI!
Why do you make calculate how old you are Bill and when you joined up. So I'm 2 years older than you and I joined up in 65 out in 67. So after you joined up happened? You don't say?

Morning All! I hope you're enjoying your weekend. Yesterday we picked up a set of earrings for the wife for the 41st anniversary. We did a very little grocery shopping, then home. I had to trim the Forsythias in the front of the house. Those things grow faster than actual weeds! After that I had to cut all the dead cane off the rose bushes. That was an adventure. Last year was a wet season so they grew well and the thorns were extra-large! Carelessness was more painful than usual. It's been dry here, so I'm getting a respite from grass cutting. That means not two cuts a week, just the usual one. Lawns in the neighborhood are turning brown. Filling up the mower can now costs like fifteen bucks, so I'm not going to water. :)

I lost a good friend last Friday. The fellow who introduced me to my wife. This is the second loss of a very close friend in less than four months. I think it's the suckiest thing about getting old. Watching your inner circle shrink is worse than the aches and pains or the other stuff you deal with. :( Oh well... life goes on. Funeral next week. Gotta jump on a plane. I'll probably be absent for a while.

Good Morning All. Clear and a warmish 75° here this morning. Yesterday was nice with the afternoon high at just 92°, but today is going to be hot at 96°. Possible rain around Thursday.

Forum is not fixed despite moving OK for a short time yesterday evening. Maybe Bob can fix it before I have to reduce my participation level due to frustration.

Phew! Spent some time yesterday pressure-canning Green Beans. Nine pints on this first go-around. I'll pick more today and every other day for a short period of time. These very warm days will reduce the flowering which reduces the production. My goal is to can 20-24 pints a season. I still have 10 pints left from last year though. They'll still be good for 2-3 years before the taste quality starts to diminish.
Other than that, I mowed til I ran out of gas; I have more but just didn't feel like filling the mower up at the time. Still filtering the pool water and actually added the first chemicals yesterday. While I might get in soon, it will still take about a week before my wife gets in.

No boot camp for me, since I drew a high lottery number. But I did attend 12 years at Catholic schools which was very similar except I didn't have to spend the night.

I did not go to the train shed yesterday, but here are some progress pictures that I couldn't post yesterday.

Still need to tie everything into the scene on the right and finish up some other minor stuff.

Michael - Congratulations on the new housemate.
Kusojiji -
Looks like it has the direct line to the white house button on it.
Actually that's a "re-dial" button; proving that some technology is actually really old-school!

I think that Clint Eastwood is 96 today, still among us!
Everybody have a great Sunday.

A Hollywood Marine. LOL

My Father-in-Law and my son both went to MCRD PI, 50 years apart.

My FIL also gifted my his original issue Ka-Bar to pass on to my son who was doomed to be a Marine, born 10 Nov 1992.

Semper Fi from a still proud Papa.

In regards to the meteor, didn't hear the one yesterday afternoon due to rain and power tools I was using in the garage. I'm about 12 miles north of the MA/NH border.

I really don’t want to suggest it, because it would inhibit the forum, but Bob may want to restrict access to logged-in users only.
Can AI signups (and thus logins) be prevented though? I confess I really don't know.

Another possibility might be restricting logins as far as time per day. Of course if that was done, you would all miss my general nonsense and sometimes witless wit. How would you cope?

[logging out now.]
