Good evening. It's raining and 88.
My speaker has managed to get to our local regional sorting center in Ybor City, where packages go to die. USPS still insists I'm going to receive it by 9PM today. I doubt it, but miracles happen.

Last week, I mentioned I had some issues programming some decoders for an ABBA set of Intermountain FTs. I finally managed to get that sorted out, and the quartet trundled around the layout for a couple of hours this afternoon.

I got a pair of Atlas SD45s with factory sound installed. This is the latest run with the Tsunami 2 sound decoders preinstalled. They look great, and intermittently run great, or not at all. A quick search of the 'net shows this is a widespread problem, with the engines spitting, sputtering, and completely shutting down on perfectly clean track. Part of the problem looks like the Soundtraxx decoders. They have nothing built-in to overcome even the slightest power interruption, and will stop working if you give them a dirty look. I've taken apart the trucks and cleaned the contact points on the wheels and pickup shoes. That seems to have helped with about 80% of the stalling and stuttering. Only time will tell

Yeesh! "Calgon (ok...well Athearn)...Blue Box...

.. take me away....".

My neighbor started showing her house regularly. She has a showing in about an hour and another scheduled for tomorrow. She came and asked me if I was ready to take her dog.

Meet my new housemate Willow. Willow is a five year old female boxer. Very Velcro-y and is never very far from you and follows me around the house. What a slobersaurus she is. I have a towel on the couch with me, but it's only bad if she's been out exeicising.

She has a crate she goes to on command and knows a few other commands but is stubborn to execute them. The neighbor said she wasn't leash trained, but she walked just fine for me on my left side at my heel. I put Lisl's prong training collar on her because I didn't know what to expect, but I will probably go back to her old nylon collar in a few days.

She's a really sweet dog.

Lisl/Liesl. Always loved that name, I'm sure from "The Sound of Music." Charmian Carr. Beautiful eyes, that girl, that lady.

Do NOT show Willow any of Bill Tidler Jrs. breakfast pics! If you think you have drooling problem now...

.....................................................you'll have a veritable flood then!

And hello to Willow.
Been very busy, kid filled days here. Great time spoiling them and getting lots of hugs. Uncle Kevin has been told by two of the little ones I am "Squooshy" and good to take a nap on. I'll take it as a compliment. They went down to the pool a minute ago and I will go join them in a bit. Had a wonderful lunch at the College of the Ozarks yesterday, a good meal with ice cream at Culver's last night and a meal at Steak & Shake today for lunch after taking the kids to the go kart track. Wound up with my lovely wife needing to climb on one with one of the little ones and she promptly whipped all three nephews and the rest! And Uncle Kevin would NEVER rub it in to them. [cue Dick Dastardly laugh] Anyway the place here is doing smores in a little while so the kids will be nice and sticky after that. See you all later.

No, Lisl was named after the Countess Lisl von Schlaf in the James Bond movie, For Your Eyes Only. I rarely used her full name unless she wasn't paying attention.
