Thank you, gentlemen, for the birthday wishes!

Willie I would much rather come have a cold Heineken with you in your train shed.

Dave, Sir Louis... that was kind of you.

Troy, I love hotdogs cooked on a roller grill and that should be enough.

Hugie no worries about the candles, bonfires are illegal in Baltimore City.

Terry as Kujo said that hotdog and bun cooker is too cool, but i think it would be a nightmare to keep clean. If not kept clean it would be a grease fire waiting to happen. Thank you for thinking of me.

Michael no problem I live in my own world when it comes to time.

Thank you all once again, if i missed anyone please forgive me and let me know.

I had a great day! Since I’m a day behind on MLB and my Orioles (I watch the previous day’s replays), I got to see my Birds open up a can of whoop-ass on the Rays, sweeping the series. Later my son stopped by and brought my grandson with him. We watched the original Star Wars movie, but I only made just past halfway and I fell asleep. Yeah, I'm an old f*@&

This Saturday they have a party planned for me. It's futile to try to keep secrets from an old street rat. I may be deaf, but I don't miss much and forget about sneaking up on me!

David (Marlin) - Does the concierge doctor also get Medicare payments as well? My wife and I have discussed using that type of service, but the discussions haven't gotten too serious yet.
My PCP takes Medicare and I also have a supplemental BC/BS plan. I think it depends upon the doctor. MDVIP has an excellent program that requires physicians to adhere to their required service standards..

Good morning. Tough time getting to sleep but dozed off somewhere around 2am. Up at 6:05, did what I did and decided to try a few more minutes. Slept till 8:15 and feel pretty good. It’s 58f degrees heading to the low 80’s.

I have a hair cut set for 9:45 and then I’m told we will be spreading at least 5 of the 15 bags of mulch this morning. 5 more after the grandson’s soccer game in the complex down the street at 5pm.

I sprayed some walls yesterday for the paper mill and realized after doing the last of 12 I grabbed the wrong color. Mixed up my paper mill projects! I sprayed a lightened olive green mix when it was to be a light seafoam green mix. I am heading down in a few minutes to spray the complimentary color midnight blue stripe that is to be used on just 1 wall and see how they look together. Not happy

4 soccer games for the grandson this weekend and his Spring season is done. No Summer soccer for him but he has a camp in June and another in August. Fall soccer starts after Labor Day into October when it overlaps hockey season. He is skating again we after a couple weeks off but I didn’t pay attention to what’s happening there. I truly can’t believe what these parents of soccer and hockey kids are paying for these sports. But hey, not my kid though we do pay the fees for his Fall/Winter hockey season and equipment because we can and want to. We also pay for the speech therapy for the granddaughter that the State used to pay and insurance will no longer cover.

Be well

Good morning. 74°F/66°F this morning under cloudy skies. 10-30% chance of a shower today. Maybe a bit of thunder later.

Slept straight through to 0730 this morning. The room A/C makes all the difference in blocking out the neighbor's loud mouth and loud truck at 0400+/-.

Got myself a hummingbird feeder for the back yard. I'm going to set that up and fill it and see if I can get them to come. My neighbor that has since passed away that lived next door to me where the white trash lives now had several feeders set up and there were hummingbirds visiting several times a day. Hope they come back.

Not much else going on today. Yesterday I set up the new guitar, but I should have waited another day. I lowered the bridge for better playability, but as the guitar continued to acclimate, the neck relief decreased and I now have some fret buzz. You can't hear it while amplified, but acoustically, it buzzes on all six strings, so back up with the bridge about 1-1.5mm.

Have a great, safe weekend. Servus!

Currently sitting at the breakfast nook table watching the gate by the garage.

Posted pics of our cheap treadmill to FB Marketplace this morning.

Within 5 minutes I had a message. Jose wants to stop by and pick it up.

I only asked $45, so it will probably hit a garage sale, or resale shop. I just want it out of my basement.

I can go nowhere without a machine.
I have one of those things in the basement too, and a elliptical machine. But we have the fancy dual purpose versions. They also serve as drying racks for SWMBO's more "delicate" items!

I wonder what Jose will pay for them??;):D

Interesting! Last month Terry and I sat down for a consultation with the area DPC ( Direct primary care group) here in Verona. $200 per month for unlimited visits. I could keep my Medicare but the provider could not bill Medicare for services and I could not asked Medicare to reimburse the monthly fee. Had to sign a waiver. If I had labs and stuff they could send be to a lab and the lab could bill Medicare. It was an interesting dynamic that we haven’t decided on.

My brother uses a full concierge service on Maui and he loves it. They come to him. They did run into hiccups with his heart flutter and his doctors sent him to the Mainland

I found one at a bargain price, without the corporate sticker to drive the price up.
In using it, I found the stuff from the hot dogs drips straight down onto the drip/crumb tray, which simply slides out for easy cleaning.
It works very well, but only on standard length buns and hot dogs, the bun length dogs are too long and stick up out of the machine.
I think I paid $20 for it. It’s worth almost that just to toast the buns.

That is brilliant, I want one! My wife would love it too, she always worries I will let all the water boil away and start a fire when boiling hotdogs. Ive never started a fire, but I did have the bottom fall off of one of her good pots from it happening so many times.

I haven't been buying bun length hotdogs. I like the classic Armour hotdogs from Dollar General; they taste great and the prices are good too!

My annual fee is just part of medical insurance payment deductions on Schedule A.

I maybe see my doc 2x-3x per year so full concierge, for me, is overkill. The only in-home one I know of is ConciergeMD.

I had one hummingbird show up already. I suspect it's the same one I see flying through the yard near where I sit outside. From what I've been reading about them, they are very territorial. I may only see this one hummingbird, but at least he gets to eat.
It's fun when the "teenagers" leave the nest and start feeding at another bird's feeder.

Little dog fights. Occasionally even a furball.

I missed this, guy. But as the rest already said: Glad you made it one more year!

Welp... just submitted four pages of additions and revisions to a proposed revision to the HOA's updates to the policies regarding what we can and can't add to the common areas (front lawns and flower beds, porches etc)

Fortunately, I have AI to assist. It worked well comparing their old and new proposal. So we built language that can drop right in.

I'm sure it will piss off the faction that want to goose-step around the neighborhood, issuing citations for having garden gnomes or birdfeeders in the front garden without the proper forms and approvals.

I may have to run for the board this winter. I suspect some panties are going to get ruffled over my suggestions. I might actually go the the board meeting.

I wonder if they'd figure out I was mocking them if I wore this Tshirt to the meeting?

Went to lunch yesterday with an old shipmate that was stationed on USS 2nd ship with me yesterday. When I signed up to go to this ship, the detailer told me that they had a Chief and four third classes, so they needed a first class and a second, so I told the detailer to sign me and my second class up to go. When I got there, I found that two of the four had made second, so we were good.

I watched as he progressed up through the ranks and we got stationed together two more times, once back at the schoolhouse and another time at a fleet technical support center. I retired in 2004 and he kept going. He did the right thing for his career by doing a lot of sea duty, which gave him the oomph to make E9. He ended up doing 30 years. Awesome!!

He mentioned that another one of our old shipmates was retiring this year. I was very surprised that he was still in the Nav, as USS 2nd ship was back in 1990. This guy did 40 years! He went officer and made it to O6, which is awesome!

HOA, you can have it. I was a member of an HOA once. Never again! HOA President live 3 door down from me. Tried to fine me for having a new shed in the back yard because I didn't have HOA approval. 3 days later the identical shed appeared in her next door neighbors yard with no push back from her.
She used to bitch about the flowers in from of the house(which looked fabulous) or if I checked the oil in my car she would harass me for working on a car in my driveway. Her son Kyle was on the same little league team as 1 of my boys. I would often give him a ride to a game, but do you think she would return the favor? Nope.

I started showing up for HOA meetings and calling her out on some of the stupid stuff she was trying to enforce on other members as well as myself. Soon she quit the HOA right after I got nominated for a seat on the board. I declined knowing we would be moving soon, but she didn't know that. The final coup de gras came when my 3 little monsters stood in their front yard and sang the "Kyles mom is a b__ch song" from Southpark at the top of their lungs. I still giggle a little remembering that day!
