Good morning all!

Its shaping up to be a gorgeous northern Illinois day. Currently its 55F with an expected high of 75F. Cant ask for better
weekend weather!

I didn't end up mowing yesterday so that will be on the agenda once it dries out. The weekly grocery run will also happen
today. Probably a load or 2 of laundry as well.

Time to hit the coffee and enjoy the quiet before everyone else gets up.

Have a safe day everyone!

Did you ever think in your lifetime that a pitcher would do this.
Never, not in a million years! I might not live that long, but you know what I mean. His fastball seems to defy gravity and how about the location: not one pitch down Broadway or far out of the strike zone. The one ball was less than two inches from the zone. I'm sure the Yankees dugout was thinking WTF was that? Thank you for the video, I had not seen that. Even after watching it three times I still can't believe I saw it. I better watch it again. Later I'm going to watch that game. Thanks again!

Have I mentioned I love MLB.TV replays?

@migalyto I like Wendy's chili and my late cousin Danny loved Hormel's canned chili.

Speaking of chili, my wife is making homemade chili today for our grandson, he loves chili dogs! My wife's chili is my favorite, with 3 kinds of meat, black beans diced tomatoes and her own blend of spices. I'm getting hungry.

Good Morning All. Cloudy and 66° here this morning. Weather people are still predicting a cool front tomorrow with thunderstorms around mid-afternoon. Mini-thunderstorm popped up north of here just after midnight last night, but didn't quite reach us.

Briefly touching on two subjects posted here in the Coffee Shop lately: Deer meat makes excellent Chili, without the beans of course. Got to have a tag or dress it in your garage!

Highlight of the day yesterday was another Lettuce harvest from the garden. Tomatoes are beginning to flower and I need to cage them before they get too high. Flowers on the Green Beans as well.

Today starts with the dishwasher once again. One thing that makes me miss the kids at home. It's been a few days since laundry, so that's another task for today. I'll probably find a part of the yard to mow today once the dew evaporates. While nothing looks like it needs to be done, (looking from the porch), I should be proactive ahead of tomorrow's rain chances. Some areas can look good but still be high and just not raggedy.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I spent more time on the repair of a ScaleTrains SD40-2 than I wanted. As you may recall from last month, I had inadvertently left it running until it uncoupled and derailed when it hit it's train when it came around the loop again. One truck came off the rails, but the other kept running and wore grooves in the wheel treads. First of all, it took over an hour to finally figure out how to remove the cover from the bottom of the truck, even though I had the exploded parts view. ST sent replacement wheels/axles but I couldn't get them to fit. After their business hours so I couldn't call. That was all on Thursday. I went back yesterday to look and discovered that the brass bushings on the axles were different from the ones on the original axles. That's it! Just exchange the bushings out and everything dropped in place easily. But the damn thing still wouldn't run like it should have. Wheels were picking up power but weren't moving. So I did some more disassembly, more than I wanted to, but necessary and found that the sleeve on the drive shaft that connects to the universal joint on the motor was also broken. Well it's after business hours, so I have to wait until Monday to speak with them again. Note that it took them 3 weeks to get the original wheels to UPS, who had them to me in 2 days. The whole thing has been a frustrating adventure...still haven't figured out how I missed turning off layout power originally.

Louis - Positive thoughts and prayers going your way. Hope that it all works out.
Chad -
Can't be that much meat with only a 36 cent price difference.
I'm not willing to check it out!
David (Marlin) -
Coulda, shoulda, woulduv,
Yep! I have said that many times, but I am very conservative and I am not a real activist investor. Very happy with my positions though. Only started directly into stocks (as opposed to ETF's) about 18 months ago and I have seen a 200% return in that year and a half. Shoulda bought more at the time! Also passed on Intel then.:( $20@ at the time, $124@ today!
Mikey - I fit into most of those categories myself. No model RR club here though.

Piano Man Billy Joel is 77 today.

Everyone have a wonderful Saturday.

Would you want a Cruise ship carrying a virus to dock at your port? That was a big carrier of COVID back in the day?
With all my training I did not know there was a hantavirus strain that could be transmitted person to person. Fortunately it's not in the US. When I sold ANY rodent dropping, including bat guano, remediation the tech always treated the area with Sterifab before using the HEPA vac.

What is hantavirus?

Hantaviruses are carried by rodents. People typically become infected by inhaling airborne particles from rodent droppings, urine, or saliva. Infections are often linked to exposure in cabins, sheds, storage areas, campsites, or other enclosed spaces where rodents may be present.

Why is this outbreak getting so much attention?

Person-to-person transmission is rare and only occurs with the Andes strain of the virus, which is found in South America. The WHO has confirmed that this is the strain implicated in the current outbreak. Most hantavirus infections worldwide occur through rodent exposure alone, making human-to-human transmission especially noteworthy in this case.

Thank you. More info than the media outlets are delivering

Probably should explain what Sterifab is......

Sterifab is a nonresidual spray that deodorizes as it disinfects and is the only EPA-registered virucide, disinfectant and insecticide in one product.

It's an alcohol based product. It's the only product we could use in an exam room, operating room, clean room, etc because it is non-residual.
