I found some folks eating and a selfie girl on my tram, so they got booted off.
NEW PEEPS.JPG

They found their way to the buffet car, where they could finish their refreshments in the proper setting. Even selfie girl wasn't bothering anyone.

Lani Gardner: I would swear it was one of you peeps here who spoke of her first take of her version of Stevie Nicks-Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams." And of knowing from her...aunt(?)...or grandmother...who said the song-video here was recorded on just the second take?

That one ^^^. Or am I just confused?

Well howdy there internet peeps and those with shelves and shelves of junk

it's Troy again.

A round of coffee (or Diet Dr Peppers) for everyone.

Good morning all!

Monday, Monday........

Should be a pretty nice day today/ Currently its 49F with an expected high of 81F finally. Not going to last long with rain chances
later tonight and it will bring with it a cold front. Temps tomorrow will be back in the upper 50s for highs.

Usual laundry, running errands, and stuff around the house today. We will see what else come up.

Coffee is done, so time to attack the day!

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning from about 103 miles north of MIGALYTO with pretty much the same forecast. 45f degrees now and 80 later, for 1 day only!

The garbage is in the bin on the curb and I am waiting for a text from the plumber. Should be here by 8am to replace the garbage disposal under the kitchen sink. Warranty job as the one they installed in February just quit last Thursday.

The to do list is, plumber, HomeDeport from the parking lot, fix the yard trimmer. shower, go with Terry to Barnes and Noble. I was recommend 2 books to read and Terry goes it seems once a month to B&N. I mentioned it yesterday and she said she only had a few books left so we can go Monday! That was unexpected. Then I will pick the grandson up after school so he can cut my lawn and the next door neighbor. I will then lightly feed him and take to hockey practice. His dad will get him and 2 others and Culver’s will be the stop after practice

His soccer team played well but lost again, 3 in a row and are now 9-3. Northside of Madison because the local complex has some water damage from 10 days ago and has they say only 19 of 32 fields available. We made the drive

Enjoy the day

Good morning all. 60°F already here at 0730. Never did see 78°F yesterday. More like 68°F. I do believe today we will see 78°F, but with rain later. The grass is just getting to cutting height, but too soon to cut today, and I may not be able to get to it until Wednesday or Thursday with rain this week. It will be well into cutting height by then.

Boy, it was really windy here too yesterday. That 68°F yesterday felt more like 58°F so I didn't spend any time outside. I was in the train room for a couple of hours, and then spent some time with my radios too.

Watched two Terminator movies last night that made me want to unplug all of my computers and put my phone in a potato chip bag. Given what's happening with technology today, those movies hit closer to home every year. One day...

Have a wonderful day today. Try not to think of it as Monday!

Servus!

Morning All! 52 in the Brew City, going all the way to 74! Heat wave! Gotta cut the grass today. At least the unseasonably cool weather slowed it down a bit. Spent the weekend up in the Wausau area. Went to visit the son's family for the grandson's birthday. About a 2.5 hour drive, but after all those years of driving to Birmingham at 14-16 hours 2.5 ain't nuthin! 🤣 Looks like no rain 'til the end of the week but that could change with this afternoon's forecast. 🤷‍♀️ Just doing retired guy stuff this week. That means I have no idea, and no firm plans. Some modeling time is a "for sure".

It hit 91 yesterday. About a month early for PacNW, but it was the typical 25% humidity. Back in the mid 70's for the next 10 days, with no sign of rain unfortunately.

I was shocked 2 months ago, at my annual physical, that the 5# I put on was not muscle. Just 5# of pure body fat based on the body composition machine thing and my A1c jumped up from 5.6 to 5.8. Since that day I've cut way back on sugar and bad carbs (beer:() and have dropped about 8# over the last 2 months. I now weigh what I did as a sophomore in HS. I'll text my Dr today and see if he will order the blood work again. My wife says I look skinny, but I tell her I'm just lean like when we got married 40 years ago. No muscle or strength loss either so I know I've been doing it right.

Good Morning All. Today it's mostly clear and 61°. We're expecting a warm windy day today and tomorrow with stiff southerly winds of over 15 mph for the next two days, before a norther blows in just after midnight Tuesday.

Slow day around the homestead yesterday. A couple of loads of laundry and porch garden maintenance. Today starts with the dishwasher. It doesn't really take long, but it is a hassle.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I mainly ran trains. But I did add people to the newly finished project area. As many of you already know, I especially like setting up mini scenes and this area is getting it's share. About a month ago, I posted this scene of a back porch gathering around the grill with two couples and a dog.

I also had a residence with this scene that I added. A couple of young ladies on the porch with Mom & Dad, That's little brother behind the window.

Yesterday I added Ike's Ice Cream. a Woodland Scenics offering, along with four additional figures from the stash.

And a couple of young ladies helping "Mr. Cool" wash his car.

Next is adding more figures to the wedding scene at the church. It's currently rather devoid.

David (Marlin) - Like your wife, poor dental habits in my youth have haunted me for the past 15 years. So far, 8 implants and 10 crowns. Dentist is recommending 4 more implants soon.
Gardening - I tried Strawberries several times back in the 80's and early 90's; they never grew well for me so I stopped banging my head against that wall. Never figured out why they didn't do any better than they did. Nice to read that they are working out for you.
Troy - Cornbread and 15 bean soup is a good healthy option to Pizza. This from Google AI:
If you are craving pizza but want the benefits of the soup, you can make a "Pizza 15 Bean Soup," which combines Italian sausage, pepperoni, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese with the nutritious beans. This offers the flavor of pizza with the fiber of beans

Everyone have a great Monday.

Well howdy there internet peeps and those with fiber in their diets.

It's Troy, yet again.

Wife is grumpy about the diet. Seems she's trying to switch from vegetable oil to healthier options due to inflammation causing her hands to swell. She can't even get my high school class ring on her index finger. It used to be a thumb ring for her.

BUT, I grumped when she tried to make Cornbread with Avocado oil. Something was waaaaaaay off about it. When she admitted it (several months ago) I told her Cornbread was sacred and no avocado nor olive oil was to be used in the batter. She limped by with vegetable oil/canola oil, but is telling me no more cornbread unless it has a "healthy oil" in the batter.

So, we're back to what to use instead of oil? Butter? Ghee? She doesn't want to do coconut oil for the same reason I don't want avocado oil...

WILLIE: we did have tomatoes (rotel regular flavor) with ham in the soup. So half-way to a pizza soup.

I just reached out the local TRAIN club. Stand for something like Three-Rivers And Indiana Railroad. they're a modular HO club that goes to shows etc. And they meet a mere 15 minute drive away, not a 30+ minute drive that I got sooooo lost on trying to figure out where to go, for the N-scale club.

Figured I'd try them out, since I know one of the members/leaders.

I ended up missing out on the game tourney in Dayton OH yesterday due to the wife needing the car, and no one local heading to Dayton to ride with. And that taught me something.

I really don't like game tournaments. The relief was real when I messaged the organizer that I couldn't make it. Told him to put my entry fee into good prizes for everyone else.

At least I didn't have to pay for a hotel room, since we wouldn't be done with the tourney until after 9pm. No way I'd make a 3 hour drive back to NE Indiana in the dark that late. Too many deer want to be my friend, and will jump out to see me when I'm half blind and sleepy. Don't need that.

So, I'm going to put some energy into trying to get the MRR networking going on the local side, and see about spending time working on hobby aspects related to that hobby. I'm at good stopping points in all the game armies, once I finish off three other models. I get them clear of the hobby desk, and I can put them away and just worry about the local game scene, and no tourneys.

Well, the weather forecast is interesting. Tomorrow will be May 5th. Latest snow I remember in all my years here on the Front Range was May 15th, one of those thin little sleet things that drops a lot of water as it melts quickly. Maybe an inch that day.
But tomorrow the forecast is for 4-8 inches!! "Global warming my a$$!!"
It may not amount to anything, of course, and almost every prediction this fall and winter was a bust, which is bad because we need all the moisture we can get here. Snowpack up above was just 24% of normal, a hundred year or more low. Yes, the western slope and the Colorado River are drying up, but the East side of the Rockies isn't faring all that much better, save that it hasn't been going on for the last 5,000 years, but is much more recent.
Anyway...I'm actually hoping I get to shovel some of that global warming over the next couple of days, and if it wants to materialize instead as heavy rain, so much the better.
C'mon...water. Just get here somehow and make it wet. Really, really wet.

Since I cut out the pie and ice cream, my weight is finally starting to fall. I'm also eating slightly smaller prtions of everything, and no in-between meal eats of any kind. I'm at 165 now, down from 169 six weeks ago. I'm trying to get to 155, but the closer I get the harder it becomes. I'm only 5'-9+ on my tallest day, and my ideal weight in the military was 121 to 186 IIRC. I was around 150 in the Air Force, but that's probably a pipe dream unless I starve myself and run 5 miles a day.

If I can get to 155 to 157 I'll be satisfied. I'm still barely squeezing into a 32 waist jeans, but forget about bending over or tucking in a shirt. 155 is much more comfortable than 165. Trying to get those jeans on now I look like an ice cream cone.
