Although I have not bought a Bachmann US model since the early 90's, I have not been convinced yet to buy another. Those were cheap, ran like cr@p and looked like the amount that I paid for. Nowadays, the new stuff (steamers) are commanding a very high price, which definitely keeps me away. Bachmann (US and UK) do make some interesting models, though, and I have been tempted. I almost bought a USA Tank 0-6-0 engine, but saw the reviews and seen the shortcuts taken. I would love to get an old time 4-4-0, but they are quite a lot for such a cheaply made loco.

The only thing, aside from coaches, that I did buy is my Derby Lightweight. After taking it apart, I see the shortcuts taken and how really cheaply it was made. There is no way in heck that I would have paid for a new model as they were going for ~$270 and got lucky when I found this one.

I've seen that the Spectrum stuff is much better, but is that line still in production?

Good Morning All!
50F @ 75% with rain - we need it. Flash and bang storm started a fire top of Jone's Peak up Fisher River day before yesterday. Pretty remote and I have not heard if it has been squashed or not. Can't see it from here.

Lil is now in her 6th day. Scaled her yesterday at a whopping 2.25Lbs. She has figured out the bottle for food vs mom so expect more weight gain as the days go on. Yesterday she seemed to find her feet and walks without wobble, runs short distances and as a typical goat, jumps up as high as she can to jump down off of something .. step or porch ... etc. Jake ( Aussie ) has taken her under his wing and has started 'herding', cleaning and general watching. Lizzy ( Healer ) could care less so far. Cats are curious and do the smell thing. I can't wait to watch Maria teach her how to drink water or eat 3Way from a bowl/dish. Seems she has grass down. Saw Jake eating some and mimicked him so at least she has the taste, which probably means hay will not be a problem.
@santafewillie Ya, doggie door could be a problem. Chicken/Goat barn should be done enough where we can corral her when needed.

2 dogs and 3 cats boiled out the doggie door an hour ago or so. Had a bark fest. Think the cats go for support? Was outside a minute or so ago and could hear dogs down stream barking. So something is traveling... Since I could not go back to sleep - here I am. Will probably need a nap later on in the morning.

And.... Jake stopped the scratching yesterday am. Outside temp is lower, or maybe because he has something to do .. IDK.

A 3 minute and 50 second condensed version of my 1 hour and 10-minute NH rail trail walk I did 2 days ago. It starts with me crossing the NH truss bridge that crosses over the NYC Harlem line. I finally got my Filmora 15 video editor working at 100% today. I've been talking to Tina the robot for weeks now trying to fix the problems. She would not let me talk with a human to resolve the issues. Today when I logged on, she tells me we haven't talked in a while. Yes Tina, I know. That's because you haven't help fix the problems I was having with my product. I tell her Tina you're not smart enough to be doing the job you're doing, so could you please let me talk to a human? This time she finally agreed and I got it working in a few hours. Swal

Anybody able to get to the tracking site at USPS? I haven't been able for at least a week now. I have two items coming in and was also thinking about submitting a ticket to the IG for fraud, waste, and abuse with samples of their horrible handling of packages as they make their way back and forth, all over the country. I read that USPS is asking for bail money from the tax payer and I was going to submit that they need to reform their organization before we waste money on it. But, they seemed to have pre-empted that strike by taking the tracking site down.

USPS works fine for me, including tracking. The actual travel of the packages, not so much.

Good morning all!

Mostly Sunny today with a high of 72°F and a low of 54°F. There is a 60% chance of rain. Looks like a very nice strtch of 70s and 80s
for the next 4 days but then we will be back in the 60s

Nothing other than usual household stuff planned today.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning gang!

Cloudy and cooler today,, 50° currently with a high of only 58° today.

I have two Bachmann Spectrum Series diesels and they both run like cow turds.
Willie, that post almost made me shoot coffee out of my nose! :D

Dr. Appointment this afternoon. Been having these crazy pains in the right hip traveling down my legs and occasional weakness in my leg when standing. GP gave me muscle relaxers and said if that doesn't help , get to an orthopedic Dr, so to the Ortho I go after lunch. Hopefully he can figure it out and get me on the way to being fixed. Walking is slow. I will press on this weekend for Son #4s college graduation Saturday but I will not make the All Star race at Dover on Sunday. Maybe next year.

Well, the VPN worked and I was finally able to get to see where my stuff is. These two packages are behaving themselves and not going back and forth like most of my other stuff did. When I tried to check those older shipments, they're no longer available, so no bullets for me to boost my case. Next time.

Morning all,

Another day and way to tell a vendor how to fix their equipment as they tend to send techs who have never seem the equipment before, but know it is my network causing the issue. Particular device has an ethernet connection to my network and outputs to 2 analog phone lines, one of which is dead, but it's my network. Get me someone who's seen the equipment before and I don't care that 3 of the 4 local techs are on vacation and the tech you sent is out of the Kansas City office.

My yesterday afternoon. Sadly he was the 2nd tech to look at the equipment. I told my boss where the issue was, as the device in question has a fault light on. When I asked the tech if he'd tried to restart the device (hardwired), told me it never occurred to him.

Anyway cloudy this morning with a high of 93° (near record) and a chance of storms later. I hope we get some rain anyway.

There was a time I could have eaten that breakfast...today, not so much.
