Now, I much prefer the smaller minor league fields. AAA players are just as good as the majors, but you are closer to the action.
We now prefer that as well! It is getting too expensive to go into Chicago to see a game, even if we ride Amtrak and skip parking.

The minor league affiliates are really fun to watch. They seem to play much harder and show more effort than some
of the major league players who have made it to the big show and don't have to prove themselves. Parking is free, tickets much less,
and much less of a crowd!

Good Morning All!

46F @ 73% and sunny.

Fun last night. About 2330 Maria heard the dogs barking - well barking is a misnomer - they were screaming. So she grabs a flashlight and ventures out into the back 40, spotted the back gate open and heard rustling in one of the trees. Figured out which tree - low and behold the dogs had treed a black bear about 3 times the size of a big German Shepard. Flashlight? Boy, I did not hear a thing, but I did admonish her about taking more than just a flashlight. Grab the 45 whenever you hear something like that. Anyway, bear finally either fell out of the tree or jumped splatting on the ground then scooted over the back fence with dogs following. Nobody had any cuts, scrapes or bruises so we good. No clue on how the gate opened, think the bear jumped on top of it and the bouncing unlatched the thing.

Thank goodness it turned out okay in the end.
Maria is not like Dawn. "David there is someone outside. You take a look," ????

We have security lights around the house and gardens. One of the local cats likes to 'patrol our fence' and sets the lights off.

If you don't laugh...
I ordered groceries to be delivered, and among the things I ordered was bottles of diet soda.
They were out of diet soda, so they sent me a gallon of chocolate milk.
How could I not laugh? If you are not diabetic chocolate milk is not bad for you.

I don't know which vendor you ordered from, but I learned my lesson. I once ordered Mobile One extended performance motor oil from Walmart. They sent me Quaker State as a substitute. When ordering online from Walmart I specify no substitutes. I still have the 5-quart Quacker State motor oil on the shelf, collecting dust. I didn't want to bother to return it. "If I wanted to go to the store..." They did give me a $10 store credit. But it is still the most expensive oil I ever bought because I will likely never use it.

It's not something I have had to worry about with Amazon, but I seldom order groceries. Amazon grocery orders, "Fresh" are different from Amazon.com

I don't have luck with Amazon, especially if its coming directly from china. it's usually cheap stuff like resistors, capacitors, etc. and they come in packs of a gazzillion. I send feedback that they sent the wrong item, they send the correct stuff, and I keep both. Yeah, they don't care. I just lose time.

It was Walmart, I specified no substitutions, but they substituted anyway. They did credit the purchase price (and tax, because it has sugar in it, it's taxable in this state), and I don't have to take it back.

How stupid was that? Is it bad enough that they ignore "no substitutions" but to send chocolate milk instead of diet soda? What were they thinking? God only knows.

I order regularly from Walmart. I often must call or chat with customer service because they screwed something up. I wonder how long they can keep losing money due to stupid mistakes.

Hit 89 here today. As a Southsider, I of course cheer against the Cubbies, but man I love Wrigley Field and salute Cubs fans as some of the most faithful in sports. Oh and here's a breakfast pic...
