Willie and Terry: I suspect it might be....I believe the principals of BLI were importers of Brass model railroad products, that reinvented themselves as BLI. Might be time for them to reinvent themselves....Their product line is getting stale.
They seem to be reinventing a lot of the MTH products they inherited. Most recently they have that 4 truck shay abomination supposedly arriving in October. They will sell a few, but they would sell significantly more if it was a two truck version.

Rapido FPA-4 in Grand Canyon Rwy livery. Rapido is out of them, eBay has none,(I've had a search for the last 6 months) I am hoping that there is a dusty box somewhere on a LHS's shelf somewhere that holds one that needs a home.
Why?
Sharon and I were married on the south rim of the Grand Canyon after taking the train from Williams Az. She wants me to duplicate the car we rode both ways (Kokopelli, decals are available) and I would much rather have one of these pull it than the more modern F40.

any other ideas??
You might check here they show in stock $254.25 CDN the only thing is they are in Canada so not sure about the tariff thing right now

Feliz Cinco de Mayo, mis amigos, y buenos días a todos!! That's about it for high school Spanish. We lost internet the other day for most of the day and boy, did it take a lot of time to catch up.
We are mostly cleaning the hobo camp as our son will be visiting later this week. He's coming in from Oregon.
In the train room, ran a few engines that don't get used very often. Looks like a good dusting of rooftops and roads is in order.

STAY SAFE
LATER

When I was there it was a steam engine up front and a F7 helper behind. Great trip, had kids then.

Yes sir!

What is a "western tradition whiskey"?

I've never had any whiskey I didn't like. Other than Cutty Sark Scotch Whisky. It was so bad I never tried another Scotch Whiskey.

and the video to explain it:

I loved the half-dozen bottles of their Midnight label. But I can't find it local right now. Thought I'd try the base of it all.

Good afternoon from So. Central Wisconsin. 65f degrees down from a 3pm high of 72. Same tomorrow.

I spent most of Sunday and today traveling to and from op sessions and operating trains. Just had a super time on both layouts.

The rest of today will be trying hard to stay awake getting ready to watch Toronto/Florida NHL’s hockey playoff game. No plans to enter my train room

Enjoy the evening

So the market was down today (-0.24% to -0.82% depending on index) and my two self directed accounts were down 0.01% (HSA self directed) to up 0.11% (401k self directed), beating the market. I don't beat every day but I appeared to today.

One "advantage" is that, especially on the 401k side, is due to several ETF funds I have that pay dividends monthly. I also have some that pay quarterly. Though none of that hit today so today's beat is on market performance.

Not everything is invested in dividends paying funds and especially the monthly ones. But it helps. Just quick back of the napkin scribbling shows between 4.2% and 4.5% yearly returns on the investments just due to the dividends (which all go back in as cash and I am reinvesting them -- not auto reinvestment but I reinvest the cash into whatever floats my boat on a given day). Then any market gains are added to that base. I just did back of the napkin based on the last month's total dividends (which shouldn't have much if any of the quarterly type) and the value of the account as of today. So it's just a rough picture.

Good afternoon to all............

I was able to spend some time in the train room yesterday. I was able to find the glitch in my servo turnout controller board. Actually no glitch with the board it was the toggles I was using. The instruction sheet shows a SPDT toggle for use with one turnout. I was using a DPDT toggle to throw two turnouts at a crossover. But the servos were acting strange. So I ordered some momentary DPDT toggles and tried them yesterday. Well that solved the problem. Both turnouts throw and the servos stay where they are supposed to. I was very pleased and relieved as I can now move on with installing more turnouts on my upper level.

I was also able to finish a control panel with toggles and LEDs for my staging level. I am using twin coil switch machines here with a CDU. I have eight turnouts like this, five in my helix and three going into staging. I have eight more of the twin coil turnout machines in staging and I need to do the control panel there. I am using BLOCK signaling controllers and am very satisfied with them.
Hope to get more work done today.

I still have a couple of BLI consolidations to add the new ESU adapter board to and I'm looking forward to doing that. I finally got the ESU programmer software download to my new laptop with windows 11 along with JMRI decoder pro and the Java software required for JMRI. That was a project all on its on.

So much to do and so little time.

Back to work........John

I may have to call, because when I search by the sku numbers 224-20027 or 224-20028 and scroll down the page, it shows sold out.
Another thought was that this is a DCC Ready loco, and I'd rather have the DCC & Sound unit, but then again , beggars cant be choosers. I just hate opening up such a detailed unit.

It's a Canadian whiskey?

I've never had Pendelton, but every Canadian whiskey I've tasted was exceptionally good! You have good taste in whiskey.

From Microsoft's AI
Pendleton Whisky is a blended Canadian whisky with a production process that reflects a collaboration between Canadian distillation expertise and American finishing techniques. Here’s how the process works:

Distillation and Aging in Canada: The whisky is distilled in Canada, where it is crafted using high-quality grains and time-honored distillation methods typical of Canadian whisky-making. After distillation, the whisky undergoes an aging process in oak barrels. This aging imparts rich, layered flavors and complexity to the spirit—a common hallmark of Canadian whiskies.

Importation and Bottling in Oregon: Once the whisky has matured to the desired profile in Canada, it is imported to the United States. In Hood River, Oregon, Hood River Distillers, Inc. takes charge of the bottling. At this stage, a final element is introduced: glacier-fed spring water from Mt. Hood. This water is known for its purity and distinctive characteristics, which help round out the whisky’s smoothness and overall flavor profile.

Transnational Collaboration: This process highlights a unique transnational approach. While the core of the whisky’s character is developed through the Canadian distillation and aging process, the final bottling stage in Oregon ties the whisky to a broader American tradition—specifically honoring the spirit of the American cowboy and the legacy of the Pendleton Round-Up.

Thus, Pendleton Whisky combines the best of both worlds: the expertise of Canadian distilleries and the finishing touch provided by quality Oregon water and bottling practices. This collaboration ensures a product that not only delivers a rich flavor profile but also celebrates a blend of cultural whisky-making traditions.
