It’s late morning and I’ve been looking at some books on Colorado railroads. One of the books I have (which is great for research for this area) is Colorado central railroad.

As I was looking through the book I found a picture of central city. I thought I wonder what the it looks like today 2025.

Here are two pictures, one from 1878 then a picture of today. At first glance not much has changed but look closely and you will see a building that has been rebuilt today that was probably burned down or something years ago.

Count the buildings along the left side and you will see a building torn down or missing and in the today’s picture (or modern) you will see a building in that place.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting to see that and thought I would share.

This book has “track plans” showing placement of buildings and trackage etc. And shows the landscape if someone is modeling the Steam era remember not many trees compared to today.

Few other pictures you might be interesting to you all.

I get carried away with this. I just think this bridge is cool. Last picture this is looking up the canyon and you can see all or most all the trackage from the previous post

Ok I’m done……, for today🤣🤣

That could depend on usage.

When an engine is not used frequently or only driven for short trips, it may not reach its optimal operating temperature for long enough to evaporate moisture. During cold starts or even during storage in a humid environment, water vapor from the air or from the combustion process can condense inside the engine. Over time, if this moisture isn’t fully evaporated, it can mix with the engine oil.

Over a prolonged period, say, six months or more, the persistent presence of moisture can dilute the oil. This dilution reduces the oil’s viscosity and its ability to lubricate engine components effectively.
This is exactly what our mechanic said since I only put about 3000 miles per year, with very few being highway miles or longer than 5 mile trips. An annual oil change is cheaper than engine issues from being cheap.

Welp.
Just got the phone call. Pre-Op appointment Friday at St. Joes. and bypass surgery on the following Thursday, then 4-6 weeks of recovery.🤨
Oh what fun! If I seem to be missing for a bit, I'll be otherwise detained.

I'll be back! 😀
It'll be alright, you'll be fine. Prayers to you and your family. My father had to have stints put in. I know not the same thing but he has went through it twice now and has 6 stints and now 90 doing just fine. You're going to be ok, GOD will be with you through it all and will guide the doctors through the whole thing. You'll be up and going before you know it and back here enjoying this great forum and we all do once again.

Keep your spirits up and we all will keep you in our hearts and minds.

I went over to Walmart's before golf today to look at a computer. I found out some things I didn't know. They only had 2 desktops in stock both were HP's Windows 11 all in one S's. I asked how easy it was to add some Ram if I wanted to. He told me all in ones are very hard to add Ram to. Then he told me the S model only allows you to run programs bought from the Windows Store. After finding this out I chose not to buy the models they had in stock.

I have an all in one. I would not recommend them. Where with a desktop you can generally, easily upgrade parts like RAM or graphic cards and such, you cannot do that very easily with an all in one. The back, at least on mine has no screws. The thing must be pried apart with special tools and lots of care. I won't be buying another.

What they didn't tell you, and maybe didn't know, is you can easily revert to standard Windows. It just takes a couple of mouse clicks.

Hughie I was just looking at Dell computers and the only ones that have a 5 star rating are the All In Ones? All the rest have 4 star rating.

Good morning!

The sensor in my shed currently reads 20 degrees C and 73% humidity. Three guessing sites all say cloudy all day and a high of 22, so 50% chance of being right.

I generally build my own computer. I look for a mobo with the features and expandability, in a micro-atx size to fit my case, cpu with enough uumph but not too power hungry, enough slots for the ram, vga slot and at least one nvme slot for the c drive. They usually come with all flavors of usb C and sata ports. Not the cheapest route, but I get to choose what gets loaded. My last laptop is an Asus and it had all kinds of bloatware on it. Still has some that I couldn't exorcise out.

I'm doing this for one reason. I had my identify stolen in Hollywood FL about 12 years ago and it was a big pain to get everything back to normal. I want to make sure I have all the security updates Windows11 offers.

That sucks. Please remember that the software will not protect you from phishing. I check to ensure that the sender's email address is what is being displayed first, then open the email. I don't click on the link provided but open up another browser and go to that site manually, especially if it is asking for a login. If I find one that doesn't match, I mark it as spam and block the sender. I also block whole domains. I don't see the need for anything coming from russia for example.

Phishing is rampant.

Wow, that's neat how the original buildings or at least their fascade is still there. Glad they updated the houses though! :)
