Good morning All!
Prayers of strength, healing, compassion and patience for all in need.
Myself included.
I always enjoyed talking with older people when I was younger.
Now I find I've become "Older People". 🤣
Flo, could I please get a cup of coffee with the triple shot of Irish Cream?
I'll also have whatever breakfast special you think fits the day.
Please add bacon.

Good afternoon all. A few minor personal challenges earlier that were soon sorted out.

I had a chest x-ray some six weeks ago. Received a letter to have another one first thing in the morning.
Not sure why I have to have another one as there is no reason why, in the letter.

Whatever. It is coffee time.

You probably caught the eye of the female x ray tech.
Show up and smile. Let them know it's "Picture Day".
Coffee is good. I'll take another cup.
I have to head over to the WN&K RR shortly.
They're doing a railfan excursion with their slowest, smallest steam loco, with an equally tired combine.
Has been dubbed the "Wobbler Express" due to some sections of track. 🤣

How to get an instant 6-pack! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I received some good news today my MRI came back negative. It doesn't look like there's anything wrong with me. My wife is not fairing as well. I don't think after my daily visits her condition seems to be getting worst by the day. I just don't think she'll make through the summer. It's sad to see someone you love in a deteriorating health state. I think her kidneys are failing. Willie once said, you have to watch your carbs. That's what I been doing lately watching my sugar intake. It's down to almost 0. They say it's the number one kidney killer.

That changed somewhere along the way in the last 20 years or so. Secondly, runaway inflation caused by reckless and thoughtless government policies have made everything cost much more. My Social Security COLA has not kept up, thankfully I am not dependent on that to live. Thirdly, I think that "entitlement" also plays into the equation. It's an attitude hoisted upon us by some of the same politicians.
The flat wage levels coupled with outsourcing of white collar jobs along with blue collar jobs, changed these entry level service jobs into survival level jobs. The ill conceived, (hindsight), lockdown further exasperated inflation as politicians shoveled bucket fulls of money to cover the hardships caused by the government imposed lockdown. One politician is already campaigning to a certain segment extolling his pandering....and the beat goes on.

Well, here in the UK a General Election has just been announced by our imbecile of a Prime Minister* in an absolute downpour that saw him get soaking wet, despite the £12 million quid's worth of fancy (and dry undercover) press briefing suite less than two minutes walk away (one of our current PM's predecessors expensive vanity projects of which there were quite a few).

We are expecting all the usual political nonsense, wild speculation and maybe even the occasional punch up up until poling day on the 4th of July when it is widely expected that the current ruling party are going to be spectacularly chucked out of power.

I am going to avoid the news channels and online in the meantime, just send off my postal vote when the time comes.

Put the kettle on....

[* We have actually had THREE imbeciles as Prime Minister in less than two years, one only lasted four weeks and two of those was spent in national mourning for the Queen!]

Boris in any case the financial experts say it's all coming to a head within the next 3 months. Banks will start failing at the rate of one a week. To many businesses and people have too much outstanding debt. This is the whole reason I don't charge anything. I read a new paper column years ago that said, the most debt you can have is your home, car and 5% of your income for other things you may need to survive. That's it, anything more like putting your vacation on a credit card etc. will put you in a hole you're not going to recover from.

Afternoon All,

Well, last night and today have been spent dealing with a scam that Dad fell for although there were so many red flags. He spent several hours yesterday trying to find a WU to send the ahole from Ecuador $$$ and finally found one and sent the money. The ahole also got remote access to Dad's computer. Well after contacting WU we found out that the money had not been picked up yet, so we were able to reverse it. That necessitated several in person stops to get the cash back from WU. After that I had to take Dad's computer to the shop. After all of that including the local police coming to take a report MOH and I didn't even get a simple thank you for jumping through all the hoops for him.

John- Nice photos. I think a lot of your issues will go away with a main buss.

Troy- I am glad things are working out for your Mom and your family. Very nice game piece painting.

Bill- Great photo.

Mac- The video...SMH.

Willie- Nice scenes. Is that Harvest Gold?

Swal- Good news about the MRI. I'm very sorry to hear about your wife.

JohnU- We have our own clown election in November. If both choices are bad, doesn't that make whoever wins a bad choice?

I hope everyone has a good night.

Afternoon all,

Been a busy couple of days. 2.5 hours until I get a 4-day weekend. Going to spend most of it putting flowers on graves.

Spent 2 hours in an MRI machine for the shoulders. They had music piped into both the room and some headphones. The headphones are done via air tubes like on some old commercial flights, so the top and bottom end of the audio range are cut off. Could still hear the thump of the machine as it was working.

Surgery is 2 weeks off. Getting tired of not getting much sleep as it feels like I have gotten my shoulder pretty inflamed. Just realized if I get both shoulders worked on, say 3 weeks out each time (Dr seems to think I'll be out 6 weeks each), and still earn vacation time during my time off, I'll still have to use 5 weeks of time. While that sounds like fun, I rarely find vacation relaxing anymore.

First world problems...

Troy: Hope all goes ok for your mom.

Swal: Sorry to hear the Mrs. isn't doing better.

John - I have a lot of thoughts regarding these teens and others making $20/hr in fast food establishments. But some I can't express here because of the politics tag. Bit there are several things going wrong here. First, it's more than just teens doing those jobs and politicians/activists are clamoring for a "living wage". Back in our working days, those jobs were considered "entry level jobs", not meant for folks to support a family.

Due to Obidencomics, I have had to cut all phone lines and revert to this...Please note, if you try to call me, I only answer when the bells ring 3 times. Next comes cutting our natural gas service and going to cut logs and burning them in our stove...lucky for you I can't go political and tell you what I really think....that's what got me kicked off the "other" forum
