Good Morning All. Cloudy and 62° out there this morning. Our totally inconsistent weather forecast has now had the rain removed from today's outlook. So I have the sprinkler running in the garden right now. It also didn't get as warm yesterday as predicted, just 79°. They are still predicting 95° for Friday. Yes, 95° for Cinco de Mayo. Today is the first air quality alert for the DFW area, but doesn't extend quite this far north.
A fair amount of outdoor activity yesterday for me. I shredded brush and tree limbs for almost an hour and as a result reclaimed a patch of ground that I hadn't seen in three years. No creatures underneath. Downside is that it has been added to the area to be mowed. I am getting things caught up, this pile was left from just before the Deep Freeze of '21, and my bout with pneumonia for two months in '22.
I was exhilarated yesterday with the thought of not having to go anywhere most of this week, but my wife has other plans. Looks like we're going to look at a new to us used vehicle in Dallas this morning. I absolutely hate purchasing vehicles and having to deal with those salesmen.
I spoke with
Chet yesterday, he wanted me to report that he's fine and well, and just returned from an out of state trip to see relatives. He wishes everyone well, and will check in when he gets caught back up.
Out in the train shed yesterday, it was back to business as usual. I resumed with my small projects list. This time I selected to attack this area along the front of the upper level.
Cooter's Liquor is a small Downtown Deco Hydrocal structure that I did about a year ago.
I had already planned to put up a billboard that I have had in reserve for this blank spot, as well as a gravel parking area.
Here's the start after the ground foam and downed tree.
Next I will work on the left side of Cooter's
Tom O - Condolences on the loss of your friend.
Shoes off indoors again - My daughter invited us and a group of people to one of those Benihana type restaurants once and I was asked by the greeter to please remove my shoes. I told him that he didn't really want me to remove them, safety shoes that I had on (and had sweated in) for over 14 hours that day. He insisted so I took the first one off. He then asked me to put it back on.
Today would have been James Brown's 90th birthday.
Everybody have a great day.
