Update on MIL:

Cardiologist finally got back. They're flipping her to a different water pill. One that's a lot more potent.

Wife looked up the how much more powerfull it is, and she's not going to tell her mother the number. It basically doubles the daily multiple pill dose.

We'll go out to lunch today, instead of dinner so the wife can swing by the pharmacy on the way back.

First set of pics from the deconstruction of the lower level now posted in the layout thread (In my signature section)

Morning All! Been busy the last couple of weeks. One of my nieces visited Milwaukee for work related reasons but also added about five days to visit us. A most enjoyable time. Took her to several Milwaukee must-see's and must-eats. No time for trains. The last eight days or so I've had a painter in the house. A second interior paint job was long overdue, so we've been moving the house contents from room to room again to stay out of his way. Had a plumber in to replace some worn out bathroom fixtures. Boy did I get into the wrong line of work. Those guys are expensive! Next up is getting the mud jackers out here to fix my patio, which heaved a couple of years back. After all of this the house will be completely updated, and I won't have too much to worry about on the home front. No time for trains during painting time either! Painting should finish up today, and we can begin to get back to normal. I'll also be able to quit hemorrhaging money!

I weeded out my main garden this morning. I have big plans for the garden this year. I created a shelve for my golf cart speaker to sit on. Everything goes better with some classic rock playing in the background. I plan on renting a lawn dethatcher tomorrow and running it around the front and back lawn before planting grass seed. Swal

A good plumber is worth every penny, to have it done correctly and a lot faster......the first time. Most of the trades in my area are $120-$150 per hour.

Willie , you got me thinking about the crops this year. I normally just use an organic 10-10-10 for fertilizer. I asked my brother if I should use something different to improve yields. I have good soil, chicken and steer manure, and food waste compost.

He said that carrots, beets, etc will produce bigger roots if I cut down on the nitrogen.....unless I want those massive greens. Switch to 3-4-4 or 0-10-10. I was able to find 3-4-4.

Since beans & peas produce their own nitrogen he something like a 2-4-2 would be fine. Got it

Greens I need the nitrogen so switch to 10-5-5. Found it.

He said everything else like asparagus, berries, cucumbers, etc should be fine with the triple 10.

We'll see what happens this year.

Naw! It's probably time for a new roof now!
Nope! Had that done two years ago, along with new siding courtesy of the big hail storm we had here. Tennis ball sized hail stones. Glad the vehicles were in the garage! Other stuff we did: new kitchen counter tops, new floors, some new cabinets, new washer & dryer, the wife will probably want some new drapes and blinds. Window treatments are small potatoes though. The expensive stuff is done. Probably hit up the "Got Junk" guys to clear out 25 years worth of Mt. Crapmore in the basement. (Not including trains!)

Good afternoon all, 83F here and sunny, a beautiful day. Supposed to be pretty tomorrow too but cooler this weekend. Went to get the new tires on today but they were backed up and I didn't feel like waiting for 2 hours to stay in line. My Missus gets home tonight, so she can pick me up tomorrow and I will just leave the van there. Got the place clean for the Missus' return. Just found Space 1999 on Amazon Prime, I loved that show when it was out originally.
SFWillie, that little LL General store was always a cute little structure, it's gonna look great with your work.

Well howdy there internet stormchasers...

it's Troy again.

Destruction continues.

If you're wondering WHY I chose this path, here's why:

Yes, that pink bump on my arm is a spider bite. BUT that's not the reason... The combination of two decks, and large reach to the back corner means that wing is a danger to my back. I'm having a Diet Dr. Pepper break, and my back is letting me know to take it easy. So I may be done until tomorrow. I don't want tired and aches to turn into pulled muscle or worse.

The storms are skirting to the north so far, and moving W to E. But I suspect that cold front may start moving south soon. If it does, then we're in the big zone. If not, we have a quiet evening.

1. Take it easy on your back!
2. Praying you get missed by the storm.
3. Behave!

Good afternoon, all! Been busier than a cat covering poo in a sandbox. Contractors just finished replacing some eave, facia and drip board. I haven't touched the transformer in about a week. I'm sure the wee people of Apple Ridge think I have abandoned them.
I got/get email from MRR periodically and one showed up today. It had a rather interesting, at least to me, layout. I think with a few tweaks it would make a really nice one.
