My Dad said that they bought a Maverick for my Mom to replace the 25 year old Camry. That car was probably at its last legs as I had to fix it over 8 years ago.
Four door, FWD pick up. That last part is hard for me to grasp. I try to avoid FWD as I don't need it and its more pain and suffering with the boots, CV joints, etc. Hope it works and lasts a while. I would have bought a truck out here except they were reclassified as commercial vehicles over 30 years ago and registration and road tax skyrocketed. I guess they were competing with somebody's brother's-in-law business. So, a covered wagon for me instead.

All clear here. First time I've seen that many tornado warnings all at once.
There was some rotation up around Marissa that had a tornado last week. Nothing spotted on the ground. No rotation seen here either. We didn't even get as much wind from this front passing as we had all morning and afternoon before it passed. More than once I went out to check my antennas and masts earlier today.
The wind was so bad earlier it blew over my trash bin. I brought it in the garage. First time I've had that happen. It sort of hides in a corner between the house and the garage and the wind can't easily get to it, but it did today. Lots of limbs to pick up too.

Thankfully it has stayed above freezing here all day. I had 2.7" of rain between last night and now. According to the rain to snow calculator
that would of been around 25-27" of snow. It is going to make the changeover here soon as it has fallen from 58F this afternoon to 33F.
Were only expecting 2-4" of snow tonight but the winds will be blowing 30-35mph with 50mph gusts.

Yes, it's fallen from 65°F just before the font passed during tornado time, to a current temp of 39°F and falling fast. Snow is next in a couple of hours.

I told my wife about your Southern IL report and she just shook her had and said she was glad you were safe. We were in the middle of that Inland Hurricane when it hit. No fun.
What a difference a day makes. 11:15am and it’s 38F. Partly sunny. Blue with streaky white clouds.
Yesterday at this time it was probably in the 60s and a little more overcast.
Wind did come in strong last night.
We need the snow that Montana is getting in our mountains so we’ll have summer water.
Michael: The numbers stations are similar to the WW2 ones that would repeat random phrases continuously? In terms of effect?
“The mouse is in the corner”. “The mouse is in the corner”
“The snow is falling gently”. “The snow is falling gently”
Dang Todd. Shut the door and put a stop to this wind from the NW. It dropped from 81° at noon to currently 40° with a freeze warning for later tonight. Wind as high as 45 mph all afternoon, although it has dropped down to 30 mph now! Still sucks the heat straight up the chimney.
Good morning gentlemen. Train modeling and train shows on the weekend. Yesterday after the train show in Walnutport, i decided it was finally time to explore the area in Catasauqua, which is just north of Allentown. For anyone wishing to familiarize themselves with the area railroads and history, this is an excellent reading: Catasauqua - Crossroads of the Anthracite Railroads https://share.google/CoixC8rWjQLMHgAcR
Several decades on, has left the region with just a single track railroad on the east shore of Lehigh River. This is the former Central Railroad of New Jersey (Jersey Central). I started my hike in Northampton and made a big several miles circle over the abandoned bridges, down the abandoned Lehigh Valley Railroad (now a rail trail). Over to where Lehigh and New England crossed LV, through another abandoned bridge (L&NE), and back on the live track of former Jersey Central (now Norfolk Southern).
I'll probably do an in-depth story in my trips section.
Its a snowy Monday morning. Our rain yesterday finally made the switch to wintery mix around 9 something last night. It started out as sleet and
then changed over to all snow. Woke up this morning to probably only 3" which normally for us is a minor inconvenience but the winds are howling
25-30mph with gust in the 40s. Drifting will be the problem with the added ice layer underneath. Currently 23F but with the wind feels like -10F.
Nothing much on the agenda today. Daughter is off school due to the weather and my wife is going to work remotely today. Dont know if I
will do anything with the driveway. It will be close to 70F by Friday. I will have to see when it gets light. Nice thing about snow and cold in
March is it don't last long.
Good morning from unhappily snowed in So Central Wi. Now I’m not foolish enough to believe we weren’t going to get more snow because it’s still Winter no matter that we were in the 70’s last Monday and all snow cover was gone. But it didn’t start snowing until after 8pm last night, although we do have glazed ice under it. The NWS says 11” overnight with another 3” by noon expected in possible blizzard conditions. No the garbage bins and recycling bin will not be taken to the curb today. Not exactly sure where anything is beyond what looks like a 4’ drift running across the yard, west to northeast almost exactly near where I put the bins on the curb. Now this is a big dump for our recent Weather patterns and I can hear the Up state NY guys snickering but this is not your lake effect snow. This is dry powder on top of a glazing. As I type this it’s 6:18am and normally our plows are out at 5 and our street done by 5:45am. Not today. It’s still dark but the corner street light shows a perfect snow cover with wisps of snow blow across its top and not 1 tire track or pet walkers foot prints anywhere. The winds are at 37 mph gusting into the 50’s.
When it lightens it might be one of those picture perfect settings until my snow blower starts chewing it up say around 2. It should be over by then but definitely after the plows come through. Meanwhile after 8:30am I’ll be at the bench
It was wonderful visiting extended family. Much nicer than on a telephone; a model railroad show an added bonus.
My good Lady wants to visit Boston. It is on her 'bucket list'.
Then we will tour the area and travel to Toronto, Canada. Our daughter and family are there.

Gawd Willie you do need to get the long pants out!
Went to the local watering hole last night and got my eyes opened. Our wind storm apparently came up the Kootenai River and was channeled by the Kootenai Falls rock cut into a long cylinder of wind. 60 to 80MPH gusts. River road ( North side of river from US2 ) coming towards Libby is pretty much closed due to big trees down. They have been working on it since Friday. Place known as 'Strawberry Patch' ( old GN/BNSF name ) which kinda forces the river to go around it, had a ton of trees which is now pretty bare. Most of the trees fell on the few buildings there. Farm to Market road is closed going from the Libby side with trees down all over the place. A line of power polls went down; looked like a pissed off logger went through cutting them about a foot off the ground. East/South of Libby proper has lost a bunch of tall Fir/Pine/Tammy due to tipping. Some homes hit, nobody hurt as far as anybody knows. Power still off North, North East and East of Libby. I sure am glad we live in a narrow valley - we had some gusts, but not as big of a deal as the wind swirls in this valley.
We did get big snow on Indian Head and Scotch Peak and the other 2 seen from Libby ( can't remember names just now ) as we need it for both water and to keep the forest green helping to prevent fires. Snow also up Lake Koocanusa on dem tall peaks into Canada.
Ides of March?
Oh, and Jordan in Missoula is glad we chose to stay home - they had ice/snow/ice covered roads downtown and nobody went anywhere.
Good morning, it's 26°F out there. Feels like -06°F. I think I'll stay in today. We had a minimal amount of snow and most of it didn't stick around long. The only indication we got any at all, is the dusting on the neighbor's garage roof. That will probably blow away before lunch time.
Currently 14° and still windy. It was 75° on Saturday and snowed (flurries) yesterday. I lost another 2 fence posts and 4 fence sections with the 63 mph gusts we had yesterday, 50 mph sustained winds. 39° today for the high and 65° tomorrow. 90 for Friday.
Tweaked my hamstring on the right side on Friday and spent the last 2 days with Ice and resting. I did get the headlights changed in the truck and the new blower motor as well. I think the twisting under the dash is what did me in. I'm getting too old for some of this crap I do.
