Good Morning All. Clear and 34°. Gradual warm up today until the next cold front comes through Sunday night. That one is forecast to last two days; near 90° by this time next week.
Things dried out enough yesterday to allow me to pick up some of the fallen branches from Tuesday night's wind, but mowing will not be until tomorrow. My pond has now filled up after the rain. Depending on the weather, it will be empty again around mid-July. I'm hearing frogs but haven't seen any turtles yet. I never have figured out where they go in the summer though.

Forum is still moving nicely since Tuesday. I also noted that the number of guests has remained below 900 mostly, if this has anything to do with it. If there was a change made, then thanks.

Today is the weekly grocery trek. Pending discussions with my wife, I think that it is the only stop on the agenda today.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I moved along with the structure build. As I posted yesterday, I received the replacement wall from Walther's on Monday.

Painted all walls a light blue.

Added some of the windows on Tuesday and finished yesterday. Interesting window construction that I hadn't seen before. There is an inset in the walls for the windows themselves.

After putting the windows in, you add the frame from the outside.

After I assembled the walls, the Walther's instruction confusion set in.

Oh well! I'm used to this and this was easy to figure out.
Got some of the roof added and I will complete it next.

Troy - I've only smoked a corned beef once. It was OK, but the crock pot is easier and the resultant meat is juicier.
Todd - I have readers of all strengths all over the place. I really need to gather a handful up and donate them.

Everybody have a great Thursday.

Morning all,

Well, on my way to work this morning, I gained a job I need to do before I can drive after sunset. Had a headlight go out. So now I'll have to tear nearly the whole front end off to access the to 2 bolts that hold in the headlight so it can be changed. I've done it enough to know it isn't hard, just time consuming. I'll replace both sides so I won't have to do it again in a couple of weeks. Just surprised the local Barney Fife wasn't on shift to pull me over this morning. Last time couple of times I lost a headlight, he pulled me over as it blew, doing a U-turn to tell me the obvious, and here's a fix it ticket. "Gee officer, where can I get a bulb this time of night?"

Currently 33° and clear, going for a high of 65° today. Expecting high winds and low humidity, so we're in a red flag fire danger status today.
The temps are just getting lower for the overnight Sunday into Monday. What started 7 days ago as 31° for the low is expected to be 18-20°. That's a definite kill zone for the peach tree flowers and it is in full bloom. Parts of the tree are close enough to the house I may get a couple, but probably not. Just as well, the tree can use the break from the massive

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with roller coasters of one kind or another... It's Troy again

Made it to the grocery this morning. Still paying attention to BOGO specials, coupons, and sales. Stocking up where I can when I can. Only spent $112 this morning. These trips are usually around $50ish. But, I also purchased a Corned Beef pack to soak tonight and cook tomorrow.

Wife and are both trying to lose some weight now that winter is over. She'd like to drop 10 lbs. I need to drop 50. But I'd be happy with 40.

So I picked up another bottle of MCT oil and started adding a cap full to my morning half-pot of coffee. Then again to my single cup of green tea before lunch.

Surprisingly, I dropped two pounds since yesterday's weigh in. And that was after going to the Mexican place to gorge on chips and Queso Dip. One of the challenges I face each day is not snacking. I try to keep some Dove Dark Chocolates on hand... but they're actually a mix of dark and milk chocolate... so empty calories, with some almond shavings.

MCT so far is helping me not feel that snacky urge. I'm able to open the fridge door for a Diet Dr. Pepper or the water pitcher, glance at the chocolates, and leave them be. So far. We'll see if that continues.

Picked up a bagged salad at the grocery today. I'll add some MCT oil to the dressing I use, and see if that keeps the streak going.

Now it's time for a walk. Then I need to call and cancel the Orkin ant control renewal.

I was an Orkin commercial inspector & account manager, for the last 6 years of my working life.

If you were having inside ant issues, other than carpenter ants, this stuff is magic.

Syngenta Optigard Ant Bait Gel You can get it on Amazon in a pack of 4 syringes.

Carpenter ants need to forage for food outside your structure, so treating the exterior foundation twice per year, with a termiticide like Termidor SC, will usually solve the issue.

Always read the labels and follow application, safety, & concentration instructions exactly as written. The saying in the pest control industry is "the label is the law".

And remember, if the labels says 1 ounce per 1 gallon, 32 ounces per gallon doesn't kill them 32 times as dead...

See if you can find C8 MCT. That’s not a brand but is an MCT that is pretty much exclusively C8 variety (8 Carbon chain). It’s the kind your brain can use vs the other (C10 and C12) which are just used as energy. It is more expensive.

Good morning to all including those who’d replace Bob’s”water dummies” to get a free coaster ride. I’ve never been a coaster person since back as a kid we got stuck on a coaster called the Bob’s at the old Riverview Amusement Park in Chicago. Mom loved them even after we got struck and even into her late 70’s riding them at 6 Flags Gurnee, Il.
Explanation from the ol’ internet…

Water dummies are essential for safety testing in amusement rides. They simulate the weight and presence of humans, ensuring that rides operate safely and without risk. Here are some key points about water dummies used in amusement rides:

Good afternoon folks, sunny today cooler at 50F right now. Got the first decent night's sleep I've had in a month, so feeling almost ready to human again. Gonna take one of our families out to dinner tonight, so that will be fun. Clearing out emails right now and watching the news. Will work on the Duck more this afternoon, taking a bit more width than I had planned, so hopefully today's addition will fit correctly.
