Good morning all!

Another fairly typical day weather wise for us. Maybe a little bit above average for this time of year. Currently a sunny 27F with an
expected high of around 37F.

Not much going on as of yet. Pretty much everything was done yesterday grocery, laundry, house pick-up, etc..

Today is my wife's birthday. We went out for dinner last night and celebrated.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning to ALL. It’s a bit chilled this morning at +6f degrees heading to low 30’s. We have around 2.5 to 3” of white stuff on the sidewalks and driveway. Powder snow but already trampled down by the dogs and who ever holds the leash. Even though it’s sunny on the sidewalks I’ll have to shovel because there is too much of it.

We went from 18” of snow cover to 0 in 16 days per the local weather lady. She thinks by the end ofbthe week the snowmobile trails will be open again because more of the white stuff is coming.

The daughter and family are coming over for rare Sunday dinner sit down. The grandson’s regular season hockey is done and he decided not to try out for the AAA team he has played on the last 4 Springs and Summer. I think 78 games from October into February for a 12 year old is too much. He could use a break. He has told me not to tell his mom that he does not want play any hockey this Summer, including camps! He wanted to tell his mom himself and hopefully he’s done it already.

His outdoor soccer practice though started (Friday night) but no games until April.

We have paid for his Summer camps and AAA playing so that’s a nice chunk of change that stays in my monthly allowance. Yes “we” pay but it’s out of “my” allowance. Plus not having to haul him around makes me more relaxed than I already am. I’m sure his not playing will be discussed at dinner tonight! But I’ll act surprised.

Willie, Terry told her to pound sand when the sister contested the dad’s will and trust agreements. That happened a couple years after his death and she already had blown through the money like a drunken sailor on shore leave. What she has put a Terry through and now the guilt trip being added has I feel affected Terry’s health negatively. I will never forgive the sister for that.

Enjoy the day

I had a table at a big swap meet yesterday. Turnout was great for the first 4 hours and as usual I almost sold out of my structures in the first 2 hours.

My table was next to the only club in the Metro area. They had 4 tables. Everything they had was donated from estates. Tub after tub of brand new in box (modern & vintage) HO freight cars, engines, etc. One table was NIB Lionel, mostly vintage 1930's-1950's. The were shocked at the speed the Lionel was getting bought up. They also had tons of multi-scale parts, kits, track, etc. Blue Box Athearn, Roundhouse, Central Valley, Ambroid, etc. car kits were $5 each.

I was trying to sell near NIB freight cars for $15 or 3 for $30 and I don't think I sold more than 6. Weathered cars for $20 and sold 1. I couldn't compete with their tables. They did buy 3 of my structures for their layout though.

Very few people under 40. I spoke with Phil Pettit, from Phils Trains. He has a On30 business on Ebay and his web site. Real quality 3D printed superstructures. We were speaking about the narrow gauge business and he said it is in a slow death spiral. Bachmann was going to come out with an updated, steel geared, Heisler this year but cancelled it because of lack of pre-orders. https://philstrains.com/

I wasn't trying to make a profit. I wanted to declutter and thin out what I had. I made 4 trips in to set up and only 1 trip out when I left, so it was a good show.

I posted this last night in February and just moved it over here.

The Bar Mills saga continues.....

When I spoke with Len on Monday 2/23 he stated my order went out Friday 20th. I still haven't received the package and was going to call Monday. I just checked my emails and lo & behold there's an email from Bar Mills.

A UPS label was created today 2/28 and the order will go out Monday March 2. I at least have a tracking number.

I am done doing business with them. They may produce nice kits, but they have no business ethics. I'm sure I'm not the only one that they have not been honest with. Sad to see this happen. What a Charlie Foxtrot this company has become.

Good morning. It's foggy and 58.
For any interested parties, this is not the weekend when clocks turn ahead an hour. That's next weekend.
Yeah. I was up late working in my app. Trying to finish the daily goals I had plus some new ideas that came to me. I notice it was a little after 2am and a short while later I went to go to bed. Glanced at my watch when I went to bed at it was 3:45am. I panicked that it was the Spring Forward for DST so I looked it up and saw it was next week. Almost wish it was today given my circumstance.

I guess when your heads down the time flies as the extra hour felt like a few minutes.

Good afternoon gang!

45° and sunny with a light breeze. The dogs are loving it as the snow has all melted and they can run wild in the yard. I slept in this morning, ran to the grocery store to get stuff for next week, now I'm in. Not sure what the day will bring yet.
On a side note, I did pick up a bottle of CoQ10 to see if it helps to alleviate the joint and muscle pain that started after the Atorvastatin was introduced after the heart surgery.....we'll see!

I’m not a doctor or anything but I did read some chapters in a book by a heart doctor about CoQ10. She said, at least for heart failure cases, you need a higher dose of like 400-600mg or somewhere in that range.

I take it prophylactically and take at least that amount daily and have for years without issue so there shouldn’t be an overdose issue at those levels or even a bit higher.

Again. I’m not a doctor and just telling my own experience. Talk to your doctor or other professional if you have questions or concerns.

The snow will not last forever so today I set up my golf swing resistance bands. There are 5 bands Extra Light, Light, Medium, Heavy and Extra Heavy. I'm starting out with #2 the light band and working my way up. I'll be 80 years old in April and can't afford to lose any driving distance to some 50-year-old. Swal

George.
You look great for 80. No need to worry so much about visceral fat when you're that lean and active. You have good genetics.

Been implementing a minor lighting update to the layout. I have a factory which I installed interior led lighting
previously. Decided to add lighting to the loading dock as an enhancement. All my structures have
connectors inside the buildings so I don't have to get under the layout to take apart connections. Just unplug
the structure and take it over to the workbench.

Good evening everyone!

Had a pretty relaxing day around the house. Not much went on. I did take a small nap this afternoon which means I will
probably be up late.

Wife made Lasagna, a loaf of garlic bread, and salad for dinner tonight. Really hit the spot since I pretty much skipped
lunch. Since it was her Birthday, I did dishes, well loaded the dishwasher and cleaned up.

Time to head to the basement and play with trains!

Have a great rest of your weekend!
