Good evening: Ovie just scored # 889 to send the game into Overtime...Washington 2 - Winnipeg 2.
49°, with a chance of light rain overnight.

Spent some quality time in the train room today, working on the Flour Mill. (And a few other little items).

Picture shows where it will be located 30" long. It's ready for paint once I get a mild windless day. Then I could finish it.

The Jets won it in OT. Disappointing but a good close game...

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those still foggy,

It's Troy again...

Tried out the new Ninja coffee maker today. The brew is hot! One reviewer on the youtubez stuck a themopen in both the basket and the carafe while brewing and it was near 197° f when hitting the grounds. So, it is hotter than my old Cuisinart. That topped out at 192°F and slowly degraded over time.

I should have tried a cup without cream, but I put the half-n-half into the thermal pot right after I poured the coffee in. Tomorrow I'll try a cup flat black, then doctor it up. What I have with my cream and sweetner is good.

One thing I like about the Ninja is the Keep Warm button. Basic coffee makers with glass carafes default to keeping the warmer plate on for X time. Those with Stainless steel carafes default to turning the warmer off right after brewing (the stainless steel pot is thermal insulated).

The ninja defaults to on, but If I do depressment of the Keep Warm button, it unlights itself, and the warmer turns off as soon as the brew is complete. Since I transfer the brew to a thermal pot for travel to the basement, the warmer doesn't need to be on.

It's laundry day here. and I need to paint some toy soldiers.

These guys are up next:

Religious zealots that hit hard but lack armor.

So, of course, I fired up the 3D resin printer and added some more "colorful" characters you might recognize from the Flying Circus of Monty

I have a bunch of the "comfy pillows" printed up, and shall be swapping some of the swords out. "Poke them with the Fluffy Pillows"

Morning all,

"Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!!!" 🤣 🤣 🤣 Love it Troy!

Make sure you have all the stuffing on one end, and have the comfy chair available...

Been a fan since they were on our PBS station in 1975.

Currently clear, but I haven't the foggiest idea of current temp. Supposed to get to 76° later.

Good Morning All. Cloudy and 62°. Rain nearby, but right now it's all east and southeast of me, and the fringes are maybe as close as a half mile. Unless something develops trailing the main mass, it probably won't rain here today. High today since it's cloudy will only be 80° after 89° yesterday. Cold front still expected Sunday.

Spent the afternoon yesterday puttering in the garden and stacking more firewood. And despite not planning to mow, I did re-mow the SW part of the yard, the part over the septic system leach field. It grows even without rain. Probably more of the same without the mowing today dependent on the weather. While mowing recently, I came across a few trees that need additional pruning of low-hanging branches that don't clear my face while mowing.

Very short time out in the train shed yesterday, so I just moved a few trains instead of doing any project work.

Karl - A day late, but good luck with the MVA outcome.
Troy - No parking brake on the Honda's huh! My 2024 Lexus has a push-button for Park and no parking brake either. Pushing Park, unlocks all of the doors as well; it also flashes a message on the dashboard confirming all that is happening.. Shifting mechanism, almost like a normal shifter, goes forward for reverse and pull it towards you for forward. Just the opposite of the car movement. At least that's the same pattern as the old PRNDL type levers.
Tom O - Best wishes on the upcoming Thursday procedures.
Len - Best wishes to you as well on your upcoming medical appointments. You're getting to know the medical establishment in Cheyenne pretty quickly. Good to know them ASAP.
Louis - Speaking of scams in Baltimore City, what's the latest news on Marilyn? I haven't been keeping up lately.
Joe - Every time that you post a picture of your layout, I see something that looks familiar. Monday it was the church, yesterday was the green/brown truck. It's almost like we went shopping at the same LHS.

Singer Dianna Ross of the Supremes and a solo career, is 81 today. Noted substance user and frontman for Aerosmith, Steven Tyler is 77 today. And not to forget anyone, Nancy Pelosi is 85 and still in Congress.

Y'all have a wonderful Wednesday.

Good morning Crew from a decent start to a Wisconsin day. 33f degrees now but feeling like 30 that really means, you won’t notice it! 56 for the high is the guess by the WeatherChannel app writers.

I am in the “in case of” phase down in the trainroom. I alway tag each box of items being weathered for clients when they arrive. I try to keep all clients models together but separate from others. Yesterday though I started pre-staging the boxes to ship stuff back in. “Just in case” something happens both kids, Terry and 2 of my friends know how to handle the train room. I printed out my give away list and even tacked it to my cork board at bench. I gave my PayPal info to Terry to update. Turns out she had it but when we discussed it on Sunday she thought she didn’t. Why this week? I have a few medical procedures happening tomorrow that may lead to more invasive procedures down the road. I am so tired of doctors and their guessing games that just mean let’s do this test!

It has been insurance review time in March. For autos we only carry the State required liability. Same for remaining property except for the house. The house starting on May 1st will also be moved to liability only. We have started a separate fund we moved some money to for total self insurance. The house increased 10% in 2024 and the rate increase for 2025 starting 5/1 was 53%. There is no cause for that other than the insurance company can do it. Our health insurance will be reviewed next month with an insurance specialist. Back in November Terry grumbled about my supplemental health insurance increase of 30%+. Self insured healthcare for me maybe an option.

Enjoy the day

Speaking of scams in Baltimore City, what's the latest news on Marilyn?
You probably know she was spared prison time. 12 months of home confinement, 100 hours of community service and three years of supervised release. Even though she refused to address the court before sentencing. She swears she is innocent, which doesn't play well with Judges after a conviction.

Many convicts swear they are innocent. She is just another convict walking around free.

Like every convicted felon with money for lawyers she continues to file appeals and motions.

Good morning all!

Happy hump day!

Currently 43F going up to 55F with finally very little wind. Should be a pretty nice day to spend some time outside this afternoon. I have to think about getting the mower ready for the season and put away the snow blower.

Wife comes home tonight from her work meetings. Guess its time to pick up the house, so it looks like the daughter and I weren't slobs for 3 days. Actually will be good to have her home. She keeps much better tabs on things than I do.

Not much else going on.

Have a safe day everyone!

Morning everybody!

Conductor training is going great. In between training, I managed to re-connect with someone I met while exhibiting Rocky Valley back in November. They invited me to an OPs session in my area last night. I’ve never been to one and it is now my new favorite thing!

It was great to run trains on a layout with many others! I’m hoping to join in on many other sessions when time allows. I definitely recommend joining local OPs sessions in your area if available:)

Certainly looks that way, doesn't it. ;) I keep taking these kits off the shelf and dusting them off. Wait until you see the next phase of the W. Front & Norris Industrial Zone.
