Can't stop the rioting, robbing, or destruction of business, but by gum we can't let a cold one be purchased for them!

Over 130 people were cited in California on Saturday on suspicion of purchasing alcohol for minors.
A “Shoulder Tap” operation took place statewide involving 44 local law enforcement agencies in partnership with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).
During the operation, a minor under the supervision of law enforcement stands outside of a liquor or convenience store and asks customers to buy them alcohol.
The minor will indicate they are underage and cannot purchase alcohol.
“If an adult agrees to purchase alcohol for the underage person, they can be arrested and cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor,” authorities said.
The worst abuse of this type of "sting" was putting people into a crosswalk, aka zebra crossings. They were dressed clowns, in a chicken suite, whatever... to be able to explain to the judge that the pedestrian was PLAINLY visible, and then have them doddle, drop stuff, etc. Basically making the stopped driver frustrated and ready to go NOW.

Citations issued for "Moving while pedestrian in the crosswalk" even when they were on the far side of the street from the car, and taking their sweet-arse time to clear it.

Good Afternoon All. Perfectly clear and 60°, a little cool. Supposed to be cool for a couple of days, cool enough to start a fire in the wood-burning heater.
Made it home unscathed about an hour ago. Stopped in Dallas to pick up the granddog while her family goes to Gulf Shores AL for Spring Break. Worst part of the whole trip was Dallas traffic, despite being Sunday afternoon. When we went on Friday morning, we used a US Hwy (US 82) through some small towns along the northeastern TX border with OK; Gainesville, Sherman, Paris and New Boston. Lunch on the way home was in Mt Pleasant TX, known as the birthplace of country star Ray Price.
Daylight Saving Time. I don't care what the time is in relation to the sun, I dislike having to change clocks and body times. Stick with one or the other. I do like standard time a bit more because kids here don't have to go to school in the dark. I realize that this is relative in other time zones as well as longitude.
I need time to catch up on the forum for a bit, besides the Coffee Shop.
See y'all later.

Yep, sometimes priorities are backwards!

That's one of the worst fund raisers I have ever heard of....not to mention a waste of resources...

39° and cloudy...rain by 0500 tomorrow. Rain all day Monday, maybe snow and rain Tuesday. DST ? It would be nice if the country went to one or the other all the time, without changes twice per year.

Went for a walk at the Reservoir this morning. Walked 1.3 miles, did not use the cane at all. So...I met goal. Somewhat pooped after the walk, more so than usual, but we walked faster than before.

Meanwhile "smash and grab" incidents go unopposed by DA's and Police Departments all over the state of Kalifornia. In Texas, that's considered "entrapment" and is discouraged by most law enforcement folks.

The people running California truly think they are living in the Magical Kingdom of Fantasy Land...

Meanwhile, the Jersey Devils shut out Carolina, and are now tied for first in the Metropolitan with 94 points. This from a team that finished thrid or fourth worst in the league last year....

Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 40°, with absolutely no wind. Cooler today than it has been while we were gone. While it is not unusual for me to have to have a fire going in the wood-burning heater in March, last night was the first one this month. I will have to keep it going through Wednesday morning, then restart it Thursday night for what appears to be a five day spell. Still have more than enough dried firewood left this season.
Reflecting back on our weekend jaunt to Tennessee, one thing I dislike about any traveling is figuring out the operation of the shower fixtures in different hotels and condo units! This weekend was no different. This thing had two levers, two shower heads, and the usual bathtub faucet plug to divert the water to the shower. The two shower heads included one fixed and one detachable one that both worked simultaneously. One handle controlled the temperature mix of the water and also turned it off and on. Never figured out the other one, although I suspect that it would turn on or off one shower head or the other. Didn't do anything when I played with it but I was more interested in getting washed off and not figuring out plumbing puzzles.
Resuming a normal schedule today, meaning medical appointments. I'll be taking my wife to an eye doctor appointment for a follow-up to her cataract removal. They're doing some kind of dilation and laser stuff, so I will need to drive. My turn tomorrow with the pulmonologist. No other known doctor appointments this month!
I'll be back on track later today, the only visit to the train shed yesterday was to ensure that the beer fridge was full and working. I need to check out the garden as there appears to have been some issues with the last rain Thursday night before we left. Some of the raised bed border walls seemed to have moved although there is no signs of washouts or any animal tracks.
Need to go now, I'll catch up on the Coffee shop later.
Everyone have a great day.

Morning from out here in the West where the temp is 54f - looking for 67f high with variable cloudy.

Wishing Arlene the best with her eye surgery, Willie! Hope I spelled her name correctly this time?
I am getting to the "forgettable" stage - and my dad always used to tell me that I couldn't spell s##t with three tries!
Remember when kids would line up on each side of the school room for a Spelling Bee?
I doubt they do that anymore due to all this diversity BS?
I see that "we" have many who are either building new, or re-building layouts. I spent a couple hours reading postings about them. Fun Stuff!
KARL - Can't get over your benchwork - that's awesome stuff!

FLO - glad to have you back this Monday. I would like a "western" omelet with biscuits and gravy, please -- with an order of bacon too!

Good Morning Coffee Shoppers!

A little light snow blowing around out there this morning. Took the garbage can out, and it was raw!

Got to go see my good friend the Dentist this morning at 10:15, so there's that to look forward to 😐. Hs a younger guy, I likr him a lot, but it seems like every routine cleaning he always finds something to be done.

Check back later. Be safe!

That is how they make money - what a salesman they are.
