Good afternoon. Just hanging out today. Looks like the rain has stopped. 39°, cloudy, with a brisk NW wind. Don't think we will walk until tomorrow. 0.86" of rain since yesterday evening...better than snow or ice.

I have another estimate for yard clean-up coming today. Vendor says he will be here at 1530. Once I'm finished with the vendor, I plan on completing the modular building.

I had a low sodium ham sandwich with lettuce, tomato and a sliver of red onion with lite mayo, for lunch...delicious. Problem is the onion keeps repeating. :oops: :rolleyes: Can't have everything, I guess.

Filthy Flyers vs. Pittsburgh @ 1530 on ABC. Both teams are struggling, but this is a rivalry game, should be entertaining. Devils have 90 Points, If the Bruins win this afternoon, they clinch a playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Caps continue to fade...

Afternoon All,

Spent most the day working on the pool on and off. The high note today is that I received my quarterly PRRT&HS magazine. Speaking of magazines I ordered a yearly subscription to RMC. Thank you for the input. Dad's taking me out to Sonny's BBQ tonight since ribs are discounted and MOH is off with daughter today and won't be home for supper.

Hughie- Nice looking RS3 and scene.

Todd- Good luck with the printer.

Smudge- The layout modification is very nicely done.

Joe- Nice 1:1 photos.

Good Afternoon All from Germantown TN, a suburb of Memphis. Rainy and 49°, the rain held off until the outdoor part of the service was done. This afternoon is rest time before a Memphis style BBQ and beer get together tonight. Memphis style is quite different than Texas style in that their sauce is thin and vinegary, and the meat is pork. Texas style is brisket with thicker sauce. Memphis is hickory-smoked while Texas is oak and mesquite smoked. This is probably the second to last get-together of all of my immediate cousins on my Dad's side of the family. A real reunion is planned for later this summer which could number close to a hundred folks.
Not a lot of railroads in this part of Memphis, and we're not going exploring today due to the rain.

Question? Why are church pa systems so bad?

Todd - I wish that I had read your recommendation regarding Mid-South Hobbies sooner. It's actually only 8 miles from where we are staying, but wife nixed the suggestion. I would get lost if I went by myself due to my inability to deal with GPS on the phone.
Tom O - I would love to rid my house of all things Google as well as everything Alexa. I can only take comfort in the fact that I am probably lost in the tremendous sea of data!

Going to go now, having drinks across the street at my cousin's apartment.

I miss Chuck Thompson. This season, I will depend on what ever comes in over the air...Prime TV, and MLB if they do the daily free game at a reasonable hour. None of the cContemporary broadcasters can hold a candle to Chuck Thompson. (or Harry Kallas of the Phillies). Best is Gary Cohen, Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez of the Mets.

I suspect you will get a fair number of games to watch. Between that and radio broadcasts you should have more than enough baseball.

So far, every year T-Mobile has offered MLB.TV free to subscribers. The only problem is they black out local games, home and away. I can see a rebroadcast later.

I can always listen to every game on the radio, Orioles and Nationals.

Ben MacDonald is one of my favorite broadcasters. I also miss Rex Barney and his sports radio show.

That sandwich sounds great! Hold the onions and you have my favorite sandwich! Well, bologna, or tuna salad, or a crab cake. Any of those are great!

Onions are best on hotdogs or hamburgers, for me at least.

The wonderful lady that raised me used to say, "I love onions, but they don't like me" Interestingly, she made the world's best friend onions!

It's clear and 74.
I spent part of my morning repairing a broken awning arm on my trailer. I got everything connected back up, and life was good. Then, a couple of hours later, the wind picked up, and I tried retracting the awning. Tried.
So, tomorrow morning will begin day two of the one morning awning project
 
Evening gang!

Got the emissions done on the truck, hit HD to get plywood. Had wifey with me so we spent some time "shopping at HD".
We got lunch at Taco Hell Then headed home. Started playing with the dog and the next thing I know the dog and I were napping on the living room floor together. 2 Hours later I brought the plywood in.
More layout work tomorrow.

The replacement battery for the laptop arrived a day early, so I replaced it this afternoon. While I had it apart, I went ahead and upgraded the ssd to a 512gb model, transferred my data over, and charged the replacement battery. It seems to be working well, and the monitor shows about 10 hours remaining on the initial charge before I have to plug it in.

Good evening. 37°, partly cloudy. Time change over night. Move ahead 1 hour. Reminder: Replace the batteries in your smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. They make a big difference when things suddenly go wrong. Most fire fatalities occur in homes/apartments where there are no smoke alarms, disconnected smoke alarms or dead batteries in the smoke alarms...Don't become a victim.

Devils win, Caps win, Carolina loses. In MLB, the Mets lose...
