Good Morning All!

28F @ 74% and sunny

Got all the plotter parts ordered and should be here starting Monday. Ink was the most expensive, big belt was $31 and Kelvar vs those foam Chineezee things. Got stuff cleaned up that I didn't have to take apart - waiting until the belt gets here to do the cartridge house and spittoon as I don't want stuff laying around being lonesome.

So I am back to finishing the design for a 'tie' sheet for the laser cutter along with some shelve braces. Bought a piece of 23" x 21" x 0.020" steel for underneath the thing. Figured lesson was learned with the cutting board. Got the planer fired up and have started to figure out what is needed to accomplish what I want. Just to play a bit I decided I am going to see just how thin we can go. Will post when I have something in my hands. Have a friend that has done Maple to where you can see through it. He says 0.010" was the thinnest he could do. Don't need anything like that but figured ... why not? We will see.

I assume that y'all know ima ADD: go do this, get interrupted, forget what I was doing so go do something else, get interrupted ... you get the idea. Makes for what seems like slow going but then all of a sudden a bunch of stuff is done. Imagine that!

Got a clean bill of health from the Cardiologist today...at least six months worth. However, all restrictions are lifted. To stem my continued loss of weight, I have to increase protein, and I'm going to give cardiac rehab a try. Next week I go to the TAVR clinic at the hospital for my 1 month echo, ekg and blood work. After next Thursday, I don't see them for another year.
Fantastic news, well done!

Thanks for all the great photos.

I have the "eero" gang of -3 to a box- set. They work great for getting my signal upstairs, around corners, and to the back bedrooms there.
Maybe you need only one?

My "problem" is that eero is owned now by Amazon. I don't invite Amazon services into my home at all. (I do buy a metric crap-load of stuff from amazon almost daily it seems -- my beef is anything network service oriented that os owned by Amazon -- Alexa, Ring, eero, etc. Don't trust them with access to my home).

Afternoon All,

Started out with chores inside and outside. Tomorrow I'm heading to my buddy Tom's tomorrow to see him and the rest of the guys. Sunday, I have a "volunteered" field trip. The trip is to assist with a skunk event in Crystal River (about 75 minutes from me) so I won't be in on Sunday.

Willie- I hope you didn't have any hail damage. Nice animal scenes.

Louis- My wife bought me some FR for valentines Day. :)

Joe- Great news and nice 1:1 photo.

Tom- Stay warm.

Sherrel- I'm confident you will be warm again very soon.

I hope everyone has a good night.

TODD - I have a 45 year old Ryobi 10 inch, but have not been able to plane below 0.035 ----
0.010 would be phenomenal.
Sherrel: Ya 0.010 is something else. Have seen the finished wood square though. Mine is a 12" DeWalt and by itself if will only go down to 3/64 ~ 0.046": they call it blade protection. Have to make a lifter board. 1/2" and totally flat. I played with it a few days ago and *BOY*, it rained tiny shaven's for a couple of days. Have a 'central vac' but thought ima only gonna test it on this 6" x 12" board I happened to have.

Good thing that I went when I did! between 2:45 CST and 3:20 CST, it rained hard, just at 1.75". Then the sun came out. My whole corner was under about 2" of runoff water, and my pond filled up and overflowed.

This is why it doesn't drain any faster, the roadside ditch out front is already running across the road since the culvert pipe under our easement road isn't big enough for this volume.

Shot of my pond overflowing since the spillway is being overwhelmed.

However the garden just 45' away is high and unflooded.

So far it hasn't come above the diversion levee alongside my hay field which diverts the main runoff over to the pond and eventually the spillway out to the roadside ditch.

One of the neighbors almost had a really stuck vehicle when passing through the water in picture #2.

Down the road a usually dry creek was rushing from the earlier rain.

I had told my city slicker neighbor down there a few years ago, not to clear the brush away from that creek bank, but he was insistent that he knew better than me and wanted a "country estate" look to the pastureland that his wife inherited. Several of these trees will be uprooted by morning. He told me that the lake that he paid over $100K to build would control runoff, and I told him that he hadn't seen one of those every 7-8 year storms yet. He's seeing it today! You can see the dam for the lake in the center left of the picture. By the way, this lake has a lighted fountain in it, part of the reason that he lost his agricultural property tax exemption.
At around 5:30 CST, it started raining again with the same vengeance as before, and this wave will last longer. The wind is now around 30 mph.
We had a lot of water once 2007
we added land drainage after in two place blue pipe with holes, not had any issues since,
but it killed a number of the conifers we had planted,
nowadays you can’t see the neighbours buildings for 30 foot trees
luckily neighbours like trees, not smelly cabbage rotting in field waiting for new crop

Good evening from the damp Jersey Shore. 46° and partly cloudy. No rainfall today.

This being Thursday, it's time for the Adventures of America's Train, SA-31, and it's bi-weekly trip down the Coast Line to Red Bank, NJ. Marc Pitanza caught the train crossing over the Navesink Rver this afternoon with four loaded center beams.
Must be a serious relief, congrats

my beef is anything network service oriented that os owned by Amazon -- Alexa, Ring, eero, etc. Don't trust them with access to my home).
Spooky isn't it - about everything - and JOE wants to control my investing? negatory!

Sherrel- I'm confident you will be warm again very soon.
If I can only live long enough - LOL - after that I may be too warm!

Got the limbs in the truck and cut the pieces I wanted for the BBQ. Then got the mini tiller started and checked ran it in the garden spot. Then took the mower with the bagger and picked up all the leaves and then worked them into my garden area. Still at least a month before I can plant anything, but it is nice and a lighter than I have ever had before in that spot. I'll work some more stuff into it before I plant. I've had a bag of cow manure in the shed for a number of years, so I'll work that in along with grass clippings when I mow in the next couple of weeks.
