Yeah. We call those "Fender washers" over here. Presumably because they are (were) intended to spread out the (screw or bolt) downward or inward tension load and thus hold a fender onto a car without punching out the bolt or screw. Just a guess though.

No one EVER sends me the memos on these things. I'm always speculating...and guessing.

Good morning Coffee Shop! It's Monday, 72°F (22°C) and partly cloudy.

Weather:
Partly cloudy toward daybreak then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms through early afternoon. Mostly cloudy with showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms late this afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s. East winds 5 to 10 mph becoming south 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Have a great day!;)

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and to Patrick. Very sorry for the loss of your mother.

It's Troy again.

Still waiting on the latest book to come back from the editor. Hopefully it didn't get caught in the spam filters and deleted. I'm getting 20ish spam emails a day with my author accounts.

as for Mom passing: two years ago was when she declined. We'd gotten off our cruise on Aug 27ish, and home the next both tested positive for Covid. So no mother visit.

She passed on Sept 2nd (labor day). But she waited until my youngest sister arrived. She held in until she wasn't alone. Fortunately, my sister's boyfriend was with her at the time. She was probably a basket case. I couldn't go out of the house for two more days, and I masked up just to visit the funeral home and make arrangements.

Wife has a very busy work week, and got a bump up in the doctor visit. She goes on Thurs afternoon to see her primary care about her potential Rheumatoid Arthritis.

IF the book comes back today, I'm working on it. If not, it's Costco day. Wife wants grass fed bed/no antibiotics beef for the freezer. I can get some at Costco.

She thought she found a local meat market that stocked it. She did, but misinterpreted the "non-injected beef" feature they listed. That means they don't pump the meat with liquid post slaughter.

We need to hit the farmer's market and see which local cattle farms are there and see about getting an order in.

Costco is advertising New Zealand beef that is grass fed. No antibiotics. No growth hormones, but for internet bulk order only. So I'm going to hit the local Costco to see if they have the single packs of it. I've got a freezer to fill up.

Nah, I'm just pullin' yer chain(s) cause they were hangin' out there.

That said, I'm still not clear on what the yellow circles are. Yellow...fender washers? The last four don't yet have the top layer in place--not yet printed--and I would GUESS it's an identifier type logo or name...but if they are anything but fender washers it's not clear to me yet.
the yellow thingis are just washers yes :) and the picture was taken mid print :)

grass fed
I have had grass fed steak only once. I kept hearing it was good, so I bought a bunch from the Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii, where they filmed Jurassic Park, etc. They grow/grew their own cattle and sold the steaks, only available during certain times. Cost me a pretty penny. Was not impressed as the steaks were lean. No taste, not soft, not juicy. I hope this was just this place and not indicative of the feed type.

Good morning all!

Monday, Monday.....

A wet very humid morning out there. Not really sure how much rain we got overnight into this morning, haven't checked yet. I can
see by the pool level its a bunch. More on the way later this morning and throughout the day. Currently its 714F and the dew point
is 70F. High will top out at 81F.

Hust usual stuff around the house this morning. My daughter has a Dentist apt at 10am so I will run her to that.

Nothing much else going on at the moment.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning gang!

64° under sunny skies with a high of 79°.

Patrick, so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing.

My Dad did something similar, got very animated with both my sisters, son#3 and my cousin Scott all there. My cousin left, then I left to take the boy home (school night). By the time we got him in bed I got the text from my sisters that he was gone.

On the topic of what happens to our "energy" when we pass, everyone has their own theory. but lets not discuss it here, lest we run afoul of the religion rule.

Good morning Crew and to Patrick again my best to you and your family.

We should be getting more needed rain. My WeatherChannel app says 90% at 9 and 100% at 10am so it’s a pretty good chance we’ll get some. Terry insisted last night the local weather media expert said we were getting overnight rain. My app said less than 30% at any hour. So I went out at 11:50pm and brought in all the out door furniture cushions telling her itbwont rain now! I was right nothing received overnight.

67f degrees and gloomy out there! 80 and hopefully wet later.

I was cleaning up the work space yesterday and decided to inventory the styrene. Glad I did as I am planning a restocking trip later this week to the LHS. I had some styrene cladding wrong on my spreadsheet. But damn, where did all the paints go? When I was basically only weathering yes I went through lots of paints but painting and weathering structures is just a whole different game. The volumes consumed is way more! Oh well it helps the economy. I did notice complying my purchase list my main online go-to paint place didn’t even have 1/2 of what I wanted. Prices, why bitch about that, it’s what it is.

Local gas though the car doesn’t need it yet was $4.39 yesterday up from $3.89 on Thursday. That I will gripe about

After school, the grandson gets home at 3:45 he is having 11 buddies over for slot car racing from 4:30 to 7. I will be there as a race steward and chaperone. The owner of our local Culver’s will also be there as his grandson races. Free dinner at 7:15 plus a concrete mixer coupon.

Enjoy your day

75°F/74°F this morning. Air you can wear.

Good morning folks. Overcast with very good chances of rain today and a high of 81-83°F today. We had rain overnight, but didn't amount to much. More like a shower about sunrise. I hope it stays overcast because at this DP temp, it will be really miserable if the sky clears and the temp starts rising.

Nothing planned for today except staying cool. Have a great day. Rainy days and Mondays never got me down!

Servus!

Good Morning All. Cloudy and a very warm 78°. Rain is supposedly done with for now. In the 30 hour period ending around noon yesterday, I got 7.25" in the gauge. Most if not all of the puddling has either run off or soaked in. My pond is full and the pool is still overflowing through the skimmer. I will venture out to the garden this morning. It should be OK, since it is slightly raised and on slightly sloping ground. Low-90's for a few days and then cooler with more thundershowers around Friday.

I'll weedeat today and I should be able to mow tomorrow. I could probably mow the NW part of the yard today, but that's the last part that I did last week so it doesn't need it yet. Otherwise there's not a lot going on around the SFW estate

Out in the train shed yesterday, it was also a boring day just adding ground cover. Making progress though. I did add a ground throw to one switch near the freight terminal. Just one more to do on the north (right) end of the scene. I have to peruse through my box of signs and come up with names for two of those backdrop buildings. The one in the corner already has one, Matrix Components. Never figured out what components they make, but they are rail-served.

Troy - Send the Tortoises back and use ground throws. No wiring required.

Everyone have a great Monday.

Good morning crew, 74 here and overcast, good amount of rain last night, supposed to 30% here today. I do believe in God and the Biblical view of eternity and if anyone ever wants to discuss it privately, I will be glad to do so. Again, Patrick praying for you guys during this time.
If the back will ease up [I hate weather flops like these] I will work on some more buildings and try to get some more paint on N scale people today.
Marco I really like the washers, they should work well for the plastic.
Does anyone else do big batches of people so they are ready to use when needed?
Anyway, not much else on the burner for today. You all take care.

Rough several days. Thursday afternoon, I got off early for Saturday server maintenance. I and the wife went to visit mom at the care home near Kansas City. We had a great visit, she was more alert than she'd been a couple of years. 8:15 Am Friday morning, my sister texts that mom is unresponsive and they are sending in a priest for Last Rites. We get up there about 12:30 and spent the rest of the day there. We had to come home to get some clothes and meds. I stayed yesterday morning long enough to get the servers done and then we headed back to KC. At about 6:30 last night we headed to a motel to come back this morning and barely got to the motel, when the call comes in that mom was no longer here. So we headed back. She waited until we were gone to pass.

We're back home as my sister had everything pre arranged. No funeral as she has dad's and soon mom's ashes that will be dealt with at a celebration of life next year.

Thinking I'm off the next couple of days...
Sorry for your loss. It was nice you were able to send some time with her.
