Good morning all!

Currently a pleasant 76F but clouds are building for rain that is supposed to start at noon and go thru 11pm. Not as warm as
yesterday with the high of 92F we had. Today is only supposed to reach 85F.

No real plans for today. Pretty much everything was done that need to be yesterday!

have a safe day everyone!
Congrats on downsizing. We planned that 23 years ago when we moved to our current home. No stairs and about a 30% smaller footprint than the previous home and we're glad we did. It is going to be a pain, eventually, going down the 32 steps into the back yard to tend to the garden though. The views and lack of visible neighbors behind us is worth it. And since it appears my mom is never going to die 😁 , after being classified as a "super-ager", I/we are staying here since I am the POA, home maintenance, IT guy, etc.

They say most health issues are cause by your diet. Processed foods are the worst. I cut out all processed foods. I've been walking 3 miles in the morning every day for a least a month now, but they say before you can burn off the visceral fat around your organs you have to fist burn up all the glucose in system and that doesn't happen until 20 hours after your last meal. So, you either have a short 4-hour eating window in a 24-hour day or you have to do at least a 2 day fast, I want to burn it all off, so I guess it's going to have to be a 2 day eating fast every other 2 days. I didn't eat for 7 days not too long ago so a 2 day fast should be easy for me. These are the sacrifices' you have to make to stay above the ground. Swal
George,
My 93 year old mom just had a TAVR. Like an old car, parts start to wear out. Just a simple catheter procedure to replace the aortic valve. She was up and walking 4 hours after they were done. They also checked for any vein or artery blockages and found none.

While she was being prepped all the cardiac staff came in to speak with her. They told her she was categorized as a "super-ager". They said that genetics played a large role, but that diet, social interactions, and physical activity definitely contributes to longevity. She drives to the gym 4 days a week and can hold a 3 minute plank. You seem to be in that category also.

" A superager, also known as a super-ager, is a person who is at least eighty years of age and retains the memory skills and capacity of someone at least thirty years younger."

I've seen you running around Murphy in your videos. I wouldn't be stressing about all the possible visceral fats and need for fasting. You're in outstanding shape. Just live your life and eat clean. You'll stroke out if you keep stressing about it and starving yourself. If you're really worried just get a CT Calcium scan to see what level of plaque you have.

This is NOT my car but I had one exactly like this one.
FORD 1969 Mustang MACH 1 w/428c.i. V8 and automatic tranny.
It was the first car I ever bought (new or otherwise) and I purchased it upon my return from Vietnam in March 1969.

Billy , I am salivating right now a missing my 69 Mustang Grande. Sold it to buy an engagement ring.
You could say that I gave up one nag for another, I kept the wrong on!

Car guy here too. Can name them all, still remember all my license plates as well.
71 Nova w/ 307 (swore after that one that I would never own another GM LOL)
74 Ranchero w/ 351CJ
79 Capri w/ 2.3L I4
79 Bronco w/ 351W (had always wanted to drop a Cleveland in it)
84 Ranger 2.8L V6
86 Capri 5.0L (first car I bought brand new)
88 Cougar 5.0L (swapped the A4OD to a T5 stick and the 5.0 to the 5.0L HO from a Mustang GT)
You can tell I got married in 88. LOL
91 Escort GT 2.0L
04 Sportrac 4.0L
05 Wrangler Unlimited 4.0L (I still have this, it is my wheeling rig, bought it used with 6600 miles on it in 2006)
09 F150 5.4L (to be a tow vehicle for the Jeep, bought in '12)
16 F150 5.0L Coyote (bought in '19)
24 F250 6.7L Diesel (bought brand new as a leftover in Feb 2025)

There was a 2000 Volvo V4 that was a company car, but it really doesn't count. LOL

Ran Autocross and SCCA Solo II with the Capris, Cougar and Escort. Got my Club Racing license with the Cougar, but never ended up racing.

Have some very heavy thunderstorms moving thru the area. Lots of house shaking thunder and very heavy rain.

Mother Nature is giving me some free water in my pool to do a good back wash and rinse on my pool Filter later. ;)

Rough several days. Thursday afternoon, I got off early for Saturday server maintenance. I and the wife went to visit mom at the care home near Kansas City. We had a great visit, she was more alert than she'd been a couple of years. 8:15 Am Friday morning, my sister texts that mom is unresponsive and they are sending in a priest for Last Rites. We get up there about 12:30 and spent the rest of the day there. We had to come home to get some clothes and meds. I stayed yesterday morning long enough to get the servers done and then we headed back to KC. At about 6:30 last night we headed to a motel to come back this morning and barely got to the motel, when the call comes in that mom was no longer here. So we headed back. She waited until we were gone to pass.

We're back home as my sister had everything pre arranged. No funeral as she has dad's and soon mom's ashes that will be dealt with at a celebration of life next year.

Thinking I'm off the next couple of days...

So sorry to read this Patrick. Great you saw her though.

Good for you. I can't believe people move to a neighborhood where they can be dictated to about what they can and cannot do with their property.
Wife said I had to:

She's thinking about getting old, both with and without me. She doesn't want a yard to mow, nor maintenance on the structures to worry about. Especially if I'm gone.

We're living through a cycle of dealing with idiots on the board. We'll see how that works out. So far, she's not wanting to move out. yet.

Frankly, I like not mowing, and having very little to shovel snow off of.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with jobs, odd or not.

it's troy again.

I'll be moving slower next week. got four tortoise machines coming in for the turnouts. Three turnouts will be in the same general vicinity, and a fourth across the layout on the far peninsula from the others.

Now, I have to admit that I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to electrons. I like to think I'm tech savvy - but wiring scares me.

An Ohm is what I say when I'm thinking, unsure, or meditating.
A Watt is a question.
A volt will probably kill me
an amp is for guitars? Right?

So, I have to figure out hot to get power to the tortoises. How to wire a toggle or push button to them. How to make the green or red LEDs glow. And how to not let the magic blue smoke out of anything. Expeciall not out of me. That would be very bad.

So... what kind of power supply do I need to run three to six tortoises, switches, and perty LEDs?

Petrick, I’m sorry to hear of your loss.

When I lost my wife, I had three days’ bereavement time allowed at work. I used two days immediately to deal with any final arrangements. I returned to work, “saving’ the third day until we scheduled the celebration of life and ash scattering, and used it then. Where you are, they may be more liberal with the time allotment.

Sorry for your loss and glad you were able to see her before she left.

Patrick, praying for you and your family.

74 here right now, temps dropped from 87 to this in an hour, then poured rain for a while. Church was good in both services, my oldest g'niece Kenzie was home this weekend, her birthday is Wednesday when she turns 20. So we all went out to pizza after the Afternoon Service
