Good Morning All. Cloudy and 74°; not supposed to get above 84° today. Supposedly a chance of rain on each of the next three days. It did rain 0.25" around dusk last night, barely enough to wet the dust but not settle it. Humidity will be up as our winds for these next three days is expected to be coming from the SE, bringing Gulf (of Texas?) moisture with it. It's not usually humid here this late in the season.

Yesterday's grocery trek went OK, seems that the store has gotten back into a regular groove since their recent remodeling. I now know once again, where everything that I normally buy is located. The roller coaster gas prices are back down to $3.59/gal everywhere. Still a lot higher than 5 months ago.
Got the pool water tested and it is about where I thought it was chemical-wise. I did get in yesterday. It's not clear water but it is clean and there doesn't feel like there's any debris left in it. Having the wind rip the cover severely last October has taken a while to recover from. But at least I didn't have to drain and refill 14K gallons of water to fix it. Cost-wise, the 12 gallons of chlorine probably equalized out but with less labor.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I just continued along with the ground cover and the asphalt parking lot for the drugstore. I have a much clearer plan for most of the remaining area, with several industries already in place. Just need to tie in that ground cover that already exists. Some needs a bit of refreshing, as it has been in place for 14 years. Material quality and application methods have improved since then.

Dropped a hearing aid on the floor this morning as I got out of bed.
Do you wear them to bed? Mine are kept on my desk from ~8:00 pm til ~7:30 am!

Saxophonist Kenny G is 70 today.
Everyone have a fabulous Friday

Good morning. 72°F/63°F this morning with a rising dew point. It's going to get soupy from here on out with DPs in the upper 60°s by Sunday.

I see the site is back on-line. I showed up early today due to the birds sitting on my bedroom A/C making a racket at 0545. Rolled out about 0600 when they wouldn't fly away or shut up and find the site locked up with bots again.

I don't know why the bots find this site so attractive. Other VS sites don't seem to suffer from this problem as often as this site. It does happen to other sites though. I'm also still seeing that machine language a millisecond before the page fully loads on other VS sites. Amazingly enough, it's not currently happening here.

Nothing planned for today. I was going to throw a few boneless chicken breasts on the grill today, but forgot to take them out of the freezer. I don't think anything that thick will thaw by this afternoon, but I might try it anyway.

Stay safe out there and have a great Friday. Servus.

The charger is on the bedside table.

I wear a sleep headband to bed, one with small speakers and some tinnitus masking noises. When I get up in the morning, the sleep headband goes on it's charger, and the hearing aids go in the ears. the only time they come out is for a shower or bed.

It's been a rough couple of days. I took my 93 year old mom into downtown Portland for the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Wednesday. The procedure was delayed 2 hours because of the previous patient having issues. The surgeon does 3-4 per day, Tuesday-Thursday. I checked with some medical device sales reps and they gave him thumbs up for his work, not his personality.

An hour and half after the procedure started the anesthesiologist comes out and gives us a thumbs up as he walks by. We sat there waiting for the surgeon to speak with us, but he never showed his arrogant face. In fact he never spoke with my mom. He sent in his PA Thursday morning to check on her. I spoke with the charge nurse on her floor and she said he never speaks with family or the patient after a procedure. He just goes on to the next procedure . What an arrogant P***k.

My mom was up and walking 4 hours after the procedure. I picked her up mid afternoon Thursday. The whole procedure was no big deal to her. The cardiac staff, in the catheter lab, had labeled her a "SuperAger". I had to look that up and my brother is going to get a t-shirt made for her to wear at the gym. I'm really going to have to bust my butt to out live her now.

"A superager, also known as a super-ager, is a person who is at least eighty years of age and retains the memory skills and capacity of someone at least thirty years younger. This population falls well outside the "normal" memory skill range for people their age."

Details of the fun:
Arrived at 8:30am for an 11am procedure. 1pm they finally roll her in for an hour procedure.
We sat waiting like idiots in the Cat Lab waiting room for the surgeon. Finally around 3pm the charge nurse came out and told us where my mom was. I checked in with her and then we left around 4. The parking garage gate wouldn't acknowledge my validated parking ticket, so I had scan my CC for $20. Then I was able to relive the joy of driving 16 miles in rush hour traffic after a long stressful day. On the way home my car was acting erratic and after I dropped my sister off that good ole flashing "check engine light" started up about 1/4 mile from my house. I made it home and had a well deserved drink. I had AAA take my vehicle to my mechanic Thursday am and he said it would be a couple of days before he could look at it. Good, honest, shop is usually booked up a week in advance.

I'm taking a break for a while.

Good morning gang!

78° under sunny skies, heading to 86°.

Normally I would be here around 6:15 am, but now it's 9:45 am. Tried to get in earlier, but the bots had me locked out completely. At 1st I thought is was my phone, but all my other apps worked just fine. This is not the 1st time , but it is happening more and more frequent. This is getting ridiculous.

I don't have any issues in the late afternoon or evening. The bots must really hate the east coast?

Only ever had 1 car save my life. Was my 1969 Mustang that I rolled over in. Car was totalled, but I didn't have a scratch. So I did the only thing I could do. 2 new doors, 1 fender, 1 1/4 panel and the roof from a donor car later it lived again. My dad taught me how to paint at 14, so I then laid 14 coats of dark Ivy metallic lacquer later, I went to my high School Senior dinner dance with it.
Damn I miss that car. I sold it to buy the 1st wife's engagement ring. The car was a better ride.

Hello everyone, 79 here and heading for 85 with slim possibility of rain. Which probably means we will get a toad strangler. LadyC had to take her Tucson in to the dealer to replace a seat cover that had split. I told her I would do it, but she wanted to.
Marlin praying for your Mom and yo guys caring for her, BTDT.
Got a bit of work done on the layout and a small kit last night, Reggie's Veggies, nice little resin cast kit but the sign for it is too big to fit as they said it would. So I either have to just use some decals on it or see if I can print up a decent looking sign for it.
Lifting my coffee cup to you all, God bless.

Good afternoon to each of you! The diner's Now Serving sign reads 11 to 217. The site is acting strange. I had no trouble getting in but fifteen second or so to accept a "like", then the next is instant. Page turns also take 15 to 20 seconds.

We got a little over 5 inches of rain yesterday. Rain is in the forecast every day for the next 5 days.
All in all, it has been slow around the hobo camp. I did run some trains, mostly just watch them run. Stated searching for new building for downtown. Not many fit my vision of town.

Marlin39 - Good to hear that all went well for your mom.

STAY SAFE

Pretty much the same here right now. Everything else in my cyber world moves with lightning speed, here, not so much.
