The chicken breasts were thawed by 1500 so I started the fire about 1530 and they turned out very nicely. Wearing a thick, baked on coating of Gates BarBQ sauce they tasted great. Whipped up some Bird's Eye potatoes and onions in herb sauce and garlic Texas toast and feasted for dinner.

My new pooper scooper showed up yesterday so I could clean up the yard. I threw the old one away after Lisl passed because it was on it's last leg. I had repaired it with baling wire and zip ties more than once. Finally, a pivot pin snapped off that held one of the jaws and that was it for that one.

Fireworks are going off at the park right now. Doesn't seem to faze Willow at all. She's laying in front of me taking a snooze. I've worn her out for the last two days in the yard. The 'sit' command is getting easier, but still working on consistency. She gets the 'zoomies' like Lisl used to when she was a puppy. Runs circles around the yard two or three times at full speed and then grabs her ball and throws it and attacks it, then more zoomies.

Have a good evening gentlemen.

Hmmm... brain kicked in right after the 2:30 pee run.

Thought I'd get up and check to see if the editor sent me back my manuscript. Drat! Nothing yet.

I did clear the 3D printer's bed. Then loaded a new job to print. Only 15 more files to go after this batch. Sometimes I'm getting two or three files per job. Parts that go together, go on the same print run. This one is a single only. Looks like 6 more jobs?

Then I want to print up a set of HO track gauges.

Good morning Coffee Shop! It's Saturday, 73°F (23°C) and partly cloudy.

Weather:
Partly cloudy with scattered thunderstorms. Scattered showers then showers late this afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.

Have a great day! ;)

Good morning gang!

77° under cloudy skies with a daytime high of 88 expected.

I would’ve been here sooner, but everything was completely locked up. Just got a white screen with some gibberish of that. The website was unable to respond. Two hours later I can get in.

Have a happy Saturday everyone, I might be back later

Good morning. 74°F/69°F here this soupy morning. But it's cool and pleasant outside right now. Might be a bit uncomfortable later in the afternoon.

Today is the Spirit of St. Louis Airport airshow today. I watch many aircraft on ADS-B show up to the airport yesterday. There is a Temporary Flight Restriction in effect for the airport traffic area for the weekend at certain periods throughout the day. There was a Air Force C-40 (Boeing 737) that departed Scott AFB to fly over to Spirit (KSUS) for display. He never topped 220Kts or 4K'. Took 20 minutes at that speed to get there. I can imagine all of the traffic calls to the small Cessnas and Pipers in the area for a 737 at 4000. I did hear the C-40 talking to controllers, but heard no traffic calls. Last call I heard he was cleared to land at about 2,000' and I lost him. I'm surprised I heard him at all at that distance and altitude going into Spirit airport. KSUS is about 65 miles from here, straight-line distance.

Yesterday afternoon I watched a mock dog fight between a Mitsubishi Zero and a P-51 Mustang, An F6F Hellcat, and a F4U Corsair. I hope to see the Blue Angles fly, but I couldn't find a show schedule. I can't believe the prices they are charging to get in the place. I've never paid to go to an airshow, and you won't pay on a military base, but this is a civilian affair. They want $64 for a general admission ticket, and it quickly escalates to a couple of hundred dollars+ for the premium tent seats on the flightline...but you get two beer tickets. Ooooh.

Nothing planned for today other than watching the radar. I'm going to play my new guitar later and see how Willow reacts to different volume levels. Lisl used to go lay in the train room under the layout when I played.

8 members on aboard and 300 guests probably all named bots. Best I have noticed in weeks. Thanks Bob if you were the one to slow the invasion.

Saturday, I know because I looked in the left top corner of the IpadPro. Otherwise it’s just another Wisconsin day. But it’s day 2 in a row that it’s humid. Something missing the last 3 weeks of dry mostly gorgeous weather. Just over 1.5” of water in the rain gauge over the last 30 hours or so. We needed the moisture and need more.

I attended a layout work session Friday morning. 3 more Fridays until the invitational ops sessions start and I see no way this layout will be ready. Too bad as we have worked 18 months trying to help the owner get ready. Wednesday his FB post said golden spike Friday for yesterday’s work session. There is one complicated section of maybe 16’ of track but another of 30-40’ that has a lift out and a great river crossing scene. Not even close to golden spike. Yesterday I helped build and install 3 slidable shelf’s 18” deep x 30” wide for power equipment and circuit breakers. Great person and I will help him for as long as he wants help. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see sessions on here till August. The group has a back up plan if this one is not ready

Not sure what the plan is. We need a grocery run but the big gas saver coupon is for Monday so Terry says we will wait. We didn’t really do a full grocery run last Monday building for spend $200 and earn $1.50 per gallon off up to 20 gallons. Our normal grocery run is around $75 per week.

The grandson’s soccer season is done and his Summer hockey starts Tuesday night. 4 practice sessions and then 16 games plus playoffs. He told me Thursday he’s looking forward to this. He started golf lessons in April and he and 2 of his buddies have been using my simulator for additional swing time. 1 of the 3 buddies since kindergarten though didn’t like it so doesn’t come over and stopped the lessons. . Buddette a member of their crew has been a constant for almost 2 years. She has a boyfriend now and only occasionally hangs with the guys. 13 years old and already a heart breaker of 3 boys and the 3 at 12/13 have no clue why! Anyway I watched the 2 guys on the simulator Wednesday and the guy giving them lessons is very good. These 2 can really hit the ball and have really improved since early May. I make suggestions when I see something wrong but they are paying for lessons I will not interfere with that. With hockey starting up again it shall be interesting how the 4 interact

After months of debating I finally ordered a laser cutter yesterday. I ordered a Gweike Cloud 55W CO2 with rotary Pro II. Ordered it for myself to install at the daughter’s doll house craft shop and she can help me learn it and can have it when I’m not using it. She agreed weeks ago to putting it in her shop but I finally purchased it yesterday at 40% off the price in March

Enjoy the day

I spent the evening reading the newly acquired May edition of Railfan & Railroad (here in the UK we are somewhat behind, the May edition hit the shelves about three days into June!!) and it was a very enjoyable read, I thought that some of the articles were very much in the informative historical style of the now defunct Classic Trains magazine which makes me wonder if Whiteriver are looking to fill the void left by CT's sudden demise.

Supposedly Trains from the July issue onwards (Still only May on the shelves here) is having the CT content inserted but I am willing to bet it doesn't really...

Meanwhile, with this forum still clogged up with bots and slower than an astmatic mouse carrying some very heavy shopping, I designed a potential US 250 livery for an old Atlas Alco switcher I am currently rebuilding:

Good Morning All. Cloudy, light rain and 69° this morning. It rained overnight and there's currently 1.35" in the rain gauge. It has been removed from tomorrow's forecast. Mid-90's through the rest of the 10 day forecast. It will take a much greater amount of rain all at once to drown all of the grasshopper nymphs, and they may already be big enough to survive this year! Life in the country!

Picked my first Tomatoes from the garden yesterday, but we ate all four before I thought that I should have taken a picture! While it's not the earliest, it is about 8-10 days earlier than normal. Lots of green ones coming up.
While I have the pool chemical balance right, I still have cloudy water. I am getting in but my wife, who ironically grew up with murky brown lakes as a kid, won't get in yet! Other than the cloudiness, the color is a light blue. It will take a bit more time and then it will suddenly be good one day!
My daughter #2 texted us from Italy yesterday, to remind us that yesterday was our granddog's 10th birthday and we needed to acknowledge that and sing Happy Birthday to her! Not happening, but I did give her a piece of bread crust from my sandwich.

Outdoor tasks will be limited today, dependent on the rain, but I have that damn dishwasher to start the day with anyway. Forgot to unload the pool chemical replacements from the car yesterday, so I have that on standby.

Perused through my very last issue of Model Railroader yesterday. I have let my 33 year subscription expire, as there hasn't been anything new to pique my interest in a couple of years. Nothing really wrong with it except it has far fewer pages than just a few years ago; there's just nothing new for me. Prior to subscribing in 1993, I bought it at a LHS for about 20 years.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I just added some ground cover...not much because time was limited. I worked around the drugstore parking lot which I painted Thursday and did some more alongside the main line.

Haven't actually decided what to do in the area where the glue bottles are right now, but further to the left are some background industries and a freight terminal, all partially scenicked.

Louis - I can't believe that you are already talking about the Wild Card in baseball. Geeez! It's only the beginning of June!
I actually think of you as well after any Amazon driver cuts the corners and leaves ruts in my yard after it rains. Not thinking in a bad way, I just wish that I had someone who's as respectful of customers as you are.

Well, done with this post about an hour ago, but went for an unexpected web journey and forgot to hit "Post Reply"! Everybody have a super Saturday.

Good morning all!

I tried earlier to get on but just gave up. It seems to be better now.

As Tom said in his earlier post, second humid day today. Currently at 9:20an its already 79F. The high is expected to reach
91F. I believe this will be our first 90F day this year. We had a thunderstorm move thru the area around 3:30am, Not sure
how much rain we got from that as I haven't looked. We did get almost 1" from yesterdays rounds of showers.

Have to do some laundry (already started) and do the weekly grocery trip. The yard is still not growing a whole lot due to the lack
of rain over the last several weeks so I will hold off on that till Monday unless it takes off and can use it tomorrow.

That's about all going on in my world.

Have a safe day everyone!

An interlock tower comes to mind for that bare area along with signals or semaphores. Also a maintenance shed for MOW repairs.

This was supposed to have posted last night but evidently the cyborg ceiling gophers held it hostage...

Taking a break from building an Osborne TTrak straight module. Really well made kit with great instructions [Walthers are you listening?]. Letting about 3/4 of the interior section dry a bit. It may get some more attention tonight, but either way, it will be able to be finished tomorrow. This way I will have a straight and corner built, as our club has a show coming up in August. I will scenic them to work together, but also so they can be set as individual pieces as well to help with set up.

Anyway this morning it is 74F here and humid, supposed to get to 82 with rain. Got up and made myself attack the module. It continued to go together well, I am even more impressed with Osborne's stuff. Drying now under some weights, will get a basic coat of paint this afternoon, that is the plan anyway.
You guys have a great day.
