Willie, we have the Galaxy S22. It took some getting used to but it's an amazing thing once we did and we are still learning.

I know you are not one for cameras on the phone, but I suspect you will love the photos and videos the S24 can take. Best of all, much of it is automatic! Yours is two years newer and even better than ours.

They even have tripods available; I think we paid under $20. I can even take a video without having the image jump around.
One of our forum members (afleetcommand) uses his to take, edit, and post videos of railroads both here and on Railroad forums.

I made around $420.00 at the Stormville Airport yard sale yesterday. Sold all but one of the 10 clocks, The one I didn't sell was because I couldn't get it working. A lot of women bought the $2,00 jewelry. I had to sell 100 pieces. A few guys came with their magnifying glasses looking for gold, but I told them I already separated it out. I told this one woman you're the first women to look at the scale. I could had made a lot more if I had room in my truck from the railroad cars I planned on bringing.

Good afternoon all. A bottle of Samuel Adams please, Flo. I'll sit by the window.
Daughter visited yesterday as she has a busy schedule today. Lovely to see her.
Not sure if son is visiting today. We tend to come second (maybe sixth) unless he wants anything.

During the week on television we watch 'Traitors U.S.'. Anyone over the pond seen it?

Hopefully see the train room later. Finishing the street scene is on the list to do.

Back later

Morning all and Happy Father's day to all you dads and father figures.

Spent some time yesterday watching the 5 year old granddaughter. Her grandmother put her to work doing chores, and like her older cousins, she earned some money from grandma. She was giving the money to her mom and said she'd keep the $5 bill as it was worth more than the $1 bill. She starts kindergarten in August. She's as sharp as her sister and cousins.

Up to 10 so far on the cucumbers. Tomatoes getting big, but not yet turning red...can't wait.

Good Morning All. Happy Father's Day to all of the Dads out there. Mostly clear and 75° this morning, a tad bit warm, maybe just 93° again today.

Mowed more of the yard again yesterday, completing the south and southwest sides. I also made a couple of trips on the west side next to the hayfield. Still more to do, but it will happen tomorrow. I need to revisit the west side with my handheld mini-chainsaw and remove dangling branches that interfere with mowing.

Today we will travel to Dallas for a Father's Day lunch at my #1 daughter's home. Daughter #2 and family will be there as well as some other guests that I am told that I have met before. Daughter is big on "themed events"; today it's a Buffalo Wing blowout with a hot sauce contest featuring progressively spicier dips until there's a winner. I'll participate part-way, but there gets to a point where spicier doesn't mean tastier. That's usually just before the Habanero stage for me.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I finished up Garner's Market, at least as far as I intend to go now. I put the lower floor awning back on.

I had fits trying to attach the upper individual ones and gave up after trying 3 of the 4. They're safely stored inside the structure for now and they have been added to the pending projects list! The chimney was easier.

Then I attacked Old MacDonald's Farmhouse. This is going to be a complete replacement project. This is a cardstock structure that just didn't survive at all.

I only got as far as carving off the 3D window sills, porch steps and figures on the porch. Since this is a cardstock structure, I simply printed out another copy on 67# paper; this time with the laser-jet instead of the inkjet.

This came from some Illinois State Historical site during their bicentennial celebration. I have a few other of these, both on the layout and in the computer. There were close to 2 dozen at the time. They're gone from the original site now, but have been archived elsewhere for those interested.

Patrick - Best wishes on your surgery recovery. Follow the doctor's advice this time.
Troy -
I don't watch the news networks that are biased against him and crop videos to show him "wandering off" instead of going to give a thumbs up to the paratroopers who just landed...
I don't get my news from news networks because as I have posted here many times before, I do not watch TV. My news comes from less-biased non-US online sources like BBC or Al-Jazeera. But my wife says that even the liberal US media is picking up on the cognizance issues.
Tom O - I believe that the 2024 election is going to have the worst choice of top ticket candidates since 1976. Sad! It's been a while since I voted for a third party candidate, but as you posted, I will look at running mates as well.

Today is Father's Day, but not much else. Does there need to be anything else?
Everyone have a wonderful Sunday

Well howdy there internet peeps and those with electric boats!

Enjoying the last cool morning on the patio for a week.

Going to try deep dish pizza at a local place that we haven't been thrilled with the pizza so far. Seems they like a sweet sauce and sweet dough. We'll see if that translates to a good deep dish.

As for old fart brains, hopefully, Dr. Ronnie Johnson can administer a cognitive test to both of them. ;) :p

Following our Indiana political scene (staying general to avoid the ban hammer): The red hat party just had their state convention. The Gubernatorial candidate did NOT get his choice for Lt Gov candidate. (Primary determines Gov candidate, convention delegates choose LT Gov candidate). For those who follow, see if you remember when Sen Dick Lugar was ousted in a primary (21012), and the guy on that side self-destructed on the general election debate stage. Yep, that's being discussed as a strong potential again in this case.

Going to be a really interesting election cycle here.

Train wise, I got the phone number of the guys who do the big layout in Goshen, that we were going to do a road trip to go see. I'll give them a call this evening. They said I can set up a layout visit on one of my trips to visit Mom. When I do that, I'll post pics.

Good morning from So. Central Wisconsin where the chance of rain this morning at 6am was guessed last night when I looked to be 36%. It was 100% and severe at 4:15 when the noise of the thunder was shaking the house and woke me! It was pouring at 6! I do not believe it has stopped raining since. Radar shows me it moves on in a couple hours. High 80’s later…

I sat down at the bench last night around 8 to add safety stripes to some freight cars. Usually by time I hit the 5th car the eyes have had enough. It took to car #8 last night but I still have a few too many covered hoppers to do. The ScaleTrain covered hoppers (operator version) I purchased don’t have the stripes. I missed the hockey game last night as I never turned the TV monitor on.

I said no to pool watching the grandkids this afternoon. I just didn’t feel I wanted to do it because it wouldn’t be just the 2 gd/kids. I told the daughter I can pool watch during the week and that seemed to pacify her. The granddaughter who is special needs is very good in the pool but her 2 friends who come over are not. Usually their mom’s come along to watch and help but I’m not up for that today, during the week I’ll be ok! The grandson and his 2-3 friends are very good in the pool and need to be watched but that’s about it. They are very good with the gd/daughter but avoid her friends as they don’t know them

Enjoy the day

38 and clear with the forecast high of 63. Tomorrow's predicted high is only 49 with the possibility of more white. I guess that is still better than 90's.

My wife has made her visit to the floor already this morning and it's indelibly clear that I can no longer keep her upright with anything close to a 100% success rate. Friday's tumble put both of us into the rock wall. Time to dust off the wheelchair and air up the tires-on the morning's agenda. Never did have any children but I'm definitely getting a taste of what that's all about.

On a positive note, the morning's alpenglow was really fantastic on the Spanish Peaks but grabbing the camera to capture those events is no longer an option most of the time.

I did get in a couple hours at the workbench yesterday and decided to get the two remaining Athearn blue box 40' flatcars projects off the bench. Those are the last of 10 I built using the Athearn shells and center sills with the rest of the underframe/details replaced. Some of those are constructed as circa 1915 with Bettendorf T section trucks and Tichy K brakes with the rest "modernized" sporting Tichy AB brakes and the 50 ton Bettendorf trucks. All the cast-on grab irons/steps have been replaced with brass versions along with the addition of appropriate era cut levers and air hoses. I'd rate the end product close to Tichy's 40' version in detail with the Athearn shell prototype appearing to be the Pressed Steel Car Company's version.
