All this bagel talk is making me hungry.

Unfortunately its a bit many carbs for today and we don't have any in the house. (Costco bagels are the best with the Raskas cream cheese that Costco sells (in our area our local Costco no longer carries Raskas but we still have it at the double size "Business Center" Costco in SLC -- supposedly largest Costco in the world)

Another hour before I can eat breakfast. In a meeting and then need to be dad taxi to get the daughter form swim practice.

can you guess what plane? :)
I'm gonna guess that it is a Singapore airbus 380?

Just names. Polish specialty is dill pickles (as is kiełbasa and vodka 😉) and they are supposed to be crunchy on the very outside and not too soft on the inside. They are also not supposed to be too sour, which unfortunatelly you get in most generic supermarkets. If you can find real Polish deli and get Polish dill pickles, you will be able to automatically tell the difference.
Ah, Polski Ogurki...Kosher Pickles are prepared in accordance with Jewish Dietary Rules and probably follow a Lithuanian recipe. Polish Pickles are not...Considering everything, I prefer Polish Pickles.

Afternoon All,

Started out the day driving Dad to the VA to fix his broken CPAP machine...only it wasn't. The only thing the tech could figure out is the power connection wasn't fully pushed into the unit. Very unhappy about that. Lesson learned: I will check any equipment that "isn't working" before going to the VA. I'm doing well after the surgery with some minor tenderness and soreness only. :) Tomorrow we depart on vacation, and I'll probably return to the forum a week Thursday.

Swal- We had the Rolling Stones play in the local stadium last night. Way too crowded for me these days.

Troy- Best wishes for your Mom. I've done that before, but all we called it was undocking.

Willie- Good luck with the dumpster.

Jay- I can tell if it's a jet, does that count?

Bill- Neat photo.

John U- Great looking car.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Good afternoon, all from a very warm and humid H-Town. Heat index, 107. Even the wind is hot. The shower project has finally come to an end.

No train time in the last 9 days with the exception of the contractor looking at the layout.

STAY SAFE
LATER

Was only supposed to be 75° today...made it to 86° with rising humidity. That was it. turned the AC on. Took 4 hours to cool the house own 5°. I have it set at 74° for now.

Last night was boring without a hockey game to watch. I did watch a blog where the two ESPN guys predicted Edmonton in 6. I keep reading articles and posts from Canadians outside of Alberta who want Florida to win...That much hate? They can't all be Maple Leaf Fans, eh? The Oil actually has a decent chance of being the first team from Canada in quite a while to win a Cup. Maybe that's the problem it ain't the Leafs or the Habs.

Curt: Enjoy the vacation! Have a safe trip.

Probably watch at least part of tonight's "Battle of the Birds" between the Baltimore Orioles at the Toronto Blue Jays. Water the plants and garden and run some trains.

Good evening everyone!

Tonight is going to be a rough one! We have 5 13 Yo girls over for a end of school party/sleep over. They claim they are going to swim tonigh, but I bet that water is still pretty cold since we havent had too many upper 80s days with full sun. I haven't put a thermometer the in yet. I know its still way too cold for me.

Locking myself in the basement with trains tonight!

If I don't check in tomorrow, you know this killed me! :(

Curt there's no trouble exiting a concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center unlike Woodstock (Belawood) your 2 hours leaving that venue. One old farm road in and one old farm road out. If there's a big stake race at Saratoga leave after the 8th race because you're not getting out of the track for at least 2 hours. One of my golf friends owns a house near the track. He told me homeowners who are willing to rent out their house for 3 days this coming weekend are getting $15,000.00 for the 3 days.

Quick house update. Been working on getting ready to install the "vanity" suspended tops and sinks and also the plumber has started the finish plumbing stuff yesterday (they weren't there today for some reason).

Yesterday they got most of the stub supplies for sinks and toilets done with valves installed, started working to figure out how the wall mountedt Toto toilets work :) (their owner has these and they have experience with them but the guy who was doing it is a 3rd year and has never done it so he was learning). They also extended the stub feeds in the kitchen sinks and installed the valve for the pot filler. They also started hooking up the water from the city into the house system (no pic) thoiugh they're not done with that.

I'm going to grout the tile in the non master bedroom bathroom shower tonight so that they can install the shower panel there. My nephew put the tile in in the second half of April but didn't have time to grout it so I drew that straw and am just getting to it. I'm also trying to find all the parts for the Kohler shower for the master bathroom. They're somewhere -- I thought they were all at the house but maybe some are still at the storage or in my current basement (some stuff got stored there)... Hopefully I don't have to buy more pieces... I have a list of what we originally got so I know when I've found it all :). I may need to get an extra head as I think we stubbed in a main wall mounted head but the system we bought I think was using the top of the bar that supports the hand held shower bit for the main head so I may need to order another main head and have two :)... They may have also stubbed in too many of the body shower things. I need to find the list on the kit we bought and see how many it came with.

I really need to get some track laid and power to it, so I can finally run that. I purchased that back in late 2020 and haven't even installed the decoder yet. It's Kato, DCC ready. I've got the decoder, but not the track to run it.

Had a good experience with the 2 hearing care professionals today. Returned the aids to guy #1.... he wasn't surprised. No cash out of pocket involved since I was in the 60 day trial window.

Hearing professional #2 was the one I wish I had found first. He's on the other side of town, at a 28 minute drive. Compared to 5 min to get to the first one.

All we did at place 2 was talk the tech behind the tinnitus features, and what his preferred brand offered compared to the others. I'm knowledgable enough to not make the desperation mistakes I made the first two times.

He pointed out a couple places on my audiogram from Costco last month that he was concerned about, and wants to retest more in depth.

The down side is he is at his remote office tomorrow, then on a plane to Scotland for a family vacation. I don't get the hearing test until the 25th. I'll probably walk out with a trial set of his suggested brand to give a trial run to. This time its a $100 fee for testing and trial, applied to purchase if I follow through on that part.

So, three weeks to wait. At least I know how to cope with, and work to reduce the tinnitus in the meantime. I just gotta get all Zen, and listen to crickets and surf and rain.

just so you know, the lighting on this pic makes the glass appear to be holding a urine sample from a dehydrated person.
