Good Morning All. Clear and 63°, possibly going back up to 90° later today. Barely made it there yesterday. Rain has been removed from today's forecast, so have the triple digit predictions for late next week been removed! I think that the NWS was just teasing us. By the way, the pool reached 80° late Monday, but the water is still cloudy, not dirty but cloudy. I added a flocculent, aka clarifier, to the water yesterday afternoon that is supposed to bind and settle microscopic solids for vacuuming. The pool is safe to use, but we like the water to be sparklingly clear.
Besides pool maintenance yesterday, I picked another batch of Green Beans, Cherry Tomatoes and the first four Jalapeno Peppers. Today will be Yellow Squash and tomorrow it will be Zucchini Squash. 95% of the Onions are out and drying and I will freeze another batch of Broccoli today. I need to start removing the spent Broccoli and English Pea plants, as they are both done for sure due to the ever increasing temperatures.
Cell Phone service - We're kinda stuck with AT&T since T-Mobile and Verizon service to our location is spotty. AT&T has been an excellent provider for us and they have a tower just over a mile away. Talking to a human does require some patience, and thanks to the CWA, many domestic call centers are now moving overseas. We still mostly get Oklahoma City though, fortunately it is generally not problems that we are dealing with.
Not much went on out in the train shed yesterday. Between the garden, pool and domestic chores, I didn't get a lot of time out there. I did plant some more trees but I mainly ran some trains. It has been a few days and that's why it's out there.
How about a few engine pictures today?
Karl - The "exploded view" kit instructions in Walther's kits, almost always have missing or mis-identified parts
Joe - Good to see you again.
Chad - I grew a Habenero plant once before, just for grins. They are a really nice orange color. I used it to make Salsa. I only used a small sliver diced up for each jar. Note that I posted just "once". It had dozens of Peppers on it and I barely used 1/4 of one and composted the rest. If I need another, I can purchase them at my local Kroger which has them fresh year-round. While it is the hottest Western Hemisphere Pepper, there are some small Thai ones that are much hotter. Habeneros are between 150,000 and 300,000 on the Scoville scale, while those Thai ones are over 1,500,000. By comparison, Jalapenos are around 4,000, Cayenne's and Tabasco's are 40,000. I don't know much about the Carolina Reaper or if it is available commercially.
Louis - I use A-1 sauce on fried chicken strips and chicken fried steak, never on a good quality meat.
Everyone have a great day.
