I am with Willie. After looking at his picture above, it does appear as your kit is missing some parts. Here's hoping JL Innovations are customer orientated and will send you the missing parts, free of charge of course.
They will. I have dealt with them on matters like this before. Bar Mills and Blair Line are just as guilty as well, both on the crappy instructions and missing parts. None of the three have instructions as bad as Walther's though.

One of the coolest things we did when on the big island was snorkel with the Manta Rays at night. There were probably 100 divers on teh bottom, making a "camp fire" which is a column of their bubbles that rises up in a column. They shine lights up, and the snokelers on top shine lights down, which attracts Krill and bait fish, which in turn attracts the Manta Rays.

Eerily spooky and exciting at the same time. A really cool experience!

Favorite: Road to Hana
2nd Favorite: Helicopter tour of the big Island.
3rd Favorite: Snorkeling with the Manta Rays.
We have done the road to Hana a few times. Beautiful and scary in sections but worth the trip. Not doing it on this trip.

Helicopter today around Maui. It was good. We were in a 6 passenger that only had the 4 of us in it and that was great. Each had our own window to look out

Snorkeling yesterday was fine but something I would have enjoyed much more 20 years ago than yesterday at age 70. Seemed like work at times but it was very enjoyable, but tiring.

Normally we don’t do this many tourist things in a year let alone 1 trip. Difference is until Thursday and Friday coming up the brother has been unable to play golf at his club because they are aerating the entire course. We will be driving to Kapalua to play the Bay course. Last year we played the Plantation course where the PGA starts the tour season in January

I am here another 10 days while Terry stays. She said the other day this is my 22nd trip here while she and my sister are in the 40+ trip number. I will be back in August for 3 days of golf and flying back with my wife and sister

My brother in law works for Verizon - HE wont have em even. In fact, I wouldn't pay any of these so called frickin' corporate phone companies, which is why we opted for Trac Phone. :)

Tracfone runs on the Verizon network. You may have other worker bees but you get Verizon's network, for good and bad.

For what it's worth I had T-Mobile and its predecessors and when the iPhone first came out it was an AT&T exclusive, so I switched over to AT&T. Had that for many years but about 5 years ago I switched back to T-Mobile. One of my good neighbors is a high up exec in their regional hierarchy. I don't get a special deal but he does let me know when they are running a special upgrade and he has smoothed a few things over.

In my area T-Mobile is decent service and whenever I've had an issue and used their online/twitter help they've resolved the issue quickly and to my favor -- like unlocking our family's phones before our Japan trip so we could get a 2nd eSim in Japan.

Yep, I know all phone companies run on either frickin AT&T or Verizon Towers but the physical service is dictated by the physical company. We get a decent signal sitting at our table with Trac Phone but my neighbor (A Verizon customer) can't get a signal at all on his Verizon all singing all dancing Samsung. Aside from that - we get actual customer service from Trac Phone unlike what we got from AT7T and Verizon when we had them. All you ever got out of them was piss poor excuses and the typical, it is everyone else's fault BUT theirs.

As said, I wouldn't touch either of those thieving lying mobs - not even if they were the last phone companies on earth.

Thought perhaps someone needed a subject to practice a weathering gig?

Morning all,

Up late last night attending an out of town softball game with the middle granddaughter. Got home about 10:30 and still up at 4:30 this morning.

Coffee Flo, and I'll drink from the pot!

Had 3 interlopers on the BNSF rails this morning, 2 NS Locomotives and a Ferromex unit as a 3rd. Wasn't a hugely long train, but just funny to see that mix. I have seen CN, up and Metro Rail units before as well. Construction of the second rail coming along. They have about 6 miles they are currently working along on my way to work. While I don't really need to cross the tracks, it's actually shorter to be a double crosser than not crossing them at all.

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 66°, going up to 90° later today. Looks like the 90's are here for a while, but still dropping into the 60's at night for at least another week. NWS is predicting triple digits by mid next week. The pool might warm up by then, the cloudy days have hampered that.

Should be dry enough today to resume outdoor activity besides just sitting under the shade tree. Don't need to resume mowing yet, that will come later this week. Today I will check out the garden first, there should be another batch of Green Beans ready and the Jalapenos might be ready also.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I worked on many minor projects from my ever-increasing list. I did add those steps to the house that I showed yesterday.

I added trees here and there about the layout and I added figures and signs to a bank building that I assembled about a year ago.

I'll be attacking that list further today

Patrick - We have a lot of interlopers on the BNSF line nearby. They come from the Wabtec rebuilding plant (formerly GE) in the north part of Ft Worth near the Texas Motor Speedway. Those units wouldn't make it that far north though. Ferromex are dropped at the nearby KCS interchange and use their rails to travel to Mexico. I am not sure of the route that NS takes back to their home rails though. Both them, CN, UP and KCS are well represented on the staging tracks both in and out of the plant. They still make a few new locos there, but not near as many as they used to.

Let us not forget that today is D-Day, in memory of the battle that ultimately led to the end of the Second World War.
Everybody have a great day.

Good morning gang!

Sinus headache today. 1st we have a haze courtesy of the wildfires in Canada, add to that a school bus I got behind this morning that was spewing gray clouds of unburnt diesel out the tailpipes whenever it would accelerate or climb a hill. I backed off 10-15 car lengths but still got a mist on the front of my truck, and a nose full of diesel. No bueno.

I used to have T-mobile, bought my current home and my phone would only work in my garage. Switched to Verizon and have had nothing but stellar service ever since. That's been 12 years now. Son #3 still has T-mobile, and guess who's phone doesn't work in the house when he comes over?

Trains. After cutting Homasote this weekend, I did get some placed last night. I coated the bottom side with wood glue, clamped and weighted 20 feet of it in place. Hopefully tonight I can get the next 20 feet or so in place.

Kit instructions, I've seen the Walthers ones, more like an exploded view than instructions. Not like I pay close attention to instructions, or that's what the wife tells me! ;)

I gotta give a plug to an app I really like. I'm not affiliated in any way, other then being a happy user.

I like to sit on the back patio in the evenings and listen to the birds. Cornell University's Lab of Ornithology has developed a bird ID application that works on either iPhone or Android. It will help you identify a bird based on visual cues, and can also "Listen" and tell you what birds it hears.

A really cool app that I use almost daily.

Good morning, everyone!

Bright and sunny again today. Maybe a slight chance of storms, but its ever so slight. We could sure use some rain, it's been a couple of weeks since we had a beneficial rain.

Train wise- I started laying some track yesterday. Photos are in my build thread. Have to run down to HD to grab some more caulk. the tube I had only has a tiny bit left.

Have a wonderful and safe day all!
