Next, I got home, and was notified my Apple Card statement was ready. I used that to get my replacement watch, since they offered 0% financing, or $16/month for the watch.
Surprise! The bill is for $43 instead of $16. There was a very terse series of text messages, and about the time I was ready to tell them to close my account and piss off, they suggested the extra might be for the sales tax. For some reason, that wasn't included in the original purchase, and it was indeed added after the fact as a separate purchase not covered by the 0% interest term. After I pay the extra this month to cover the tax, the remainder should be $16.

Yeah that is how all these things are. I get my phones from T-Mobile and they always charge me sales tax up front though I pay a small amount in my monthly bill otherwise. My Apple Card purchases have been the same IIRC. Immediate charge of all sales tax and then the monthly at 0% for the 12 or 24 months of whatever it is (also watches on my side mostly). It is not always obvious what happened but if you can look at a statement and/or actual charge receipts it becomes obvious. I know I always go over them with a fine tooth-comb when I enter into a new agreement with T-Mobile or whatever to make sure it all makes sense from what their promo said.

Nobody I mean nobody puts ketchup on a hotdog-Dirty Harry. 🤣 🤣 🤣

Amen to that. My son always puts ketchup on his (with mustard) and I have to always explain it to him...

Mustard on hot dogs (and most other sausages like brats). Ketchup on hamburgers. (Lots of other variations for other sorts but those are the two main ones. Mustard is more allowable on a hamburger [with ketchup] than ketchup is on a hot dog)

Good morning Everybody!
