Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with horses,
It's charlie.... er Troy again.
Leaped out of bed this morning at 4:33 am after I tried to stretch my legs, and ole Charlie the Horse showed up in my right calve.
It still hurts, but I'm mobile.
Second day I've had one. that means it is time to get a few bananas to knock the potential down.
In other news, prepped a pork shoulder last night. It is dry brining in the Dr. Pepper fridge. I just need to mix up some pork rub for it, then prep the grill. I'll start the grill about 7:30 this morning, and hope to get the pork on about 8:15. Wife said she'll make cornbread to go with it.
got my order of #6 Peco turnouts in. Had to include two curved #7 turnouts, and I'm glad I did. That lets me better use the two approaches to the yards/spurs.
In game news, my usual accomplice for the Kings of War game is on hiatus for a month, so I dusted off the other game system and set up a game for Sunday. I'm discovering that being able to bounce between game hobbies is helping me not hit burnout in one. and I'm starting to get burnout in the Kings game. So good timing. Now I just need to blow the dust off the undead Legionairies and their buddies... and re-read the rules.
Saw some models on fleabay that were a good deal and I tried to log in to place a bid... and evilbay won't accept my password. I've checked both the macbook password chain, and my notes. They match, but ebay doesn't want that password. I keep getting the "you must contact customer service to reset your password" loop.
No, I don't want to talk to your AI.
It's currently 59 f-degrees here in the fort. Heading to 79 f degrees. But the air quality is starting to trend the wrong way. If that keeps going the wrong way, I may have to put on a mask if I want to walk today.
Oh, well, time to start reading the rule book for the Conquest game. Need to brush up and see what changed in the 9 months.

Hello everyone. 63f degrees now and 81 is the guess for later. Again though So Central Wisconsin has almost no chance of the needed rain!
It is quiet on the home front as the daughter’s family is up in Door County, Wi. We are somewhat isolated where we are some 1100’ from the their house with a nice grove of trees in between. The house the SIL says is 1500’+ from the county road to civilization, so while we occasionally hear road traffic we don’t see it. One of the very few things I miss from the last place was the people watching from the front porch. Mainly the dog walkers and the outfits they wore depending on the time of day.
I formed 15 wire birch trees between 6 and 7.5” tall yesterday. Formed the armatures into something that I hope will look like a birch. Today I shape the wire into 8 birch 8-9” tall and 7 birch around 5-6” tall and finish up with at least 2 dead birch trees using whatever scrap wire I have from shaping these 30 trees. My order from Amazon is supposed to arrive today with more florist wire, 18, 22 and 26 gauge. A 32 fl.oz. tub of Golden Light molding paste (tree bark), a pack of throw away 1/2” flat brushes and a new sonic cutter! The cutter is to replace the POS cutter I purchased in May and the return finally was granted a couple weeks ago. I returned the Phrozen brand one
2 of my friends have this brand and model and I have used them
The granddog and I were outside in the afternoon from 1 to 4:30. He has a 2 acre space with the electric invisible fence with a collar ro roam in. I parked an umbrella
a couple patio chairs and table under the trees for shade. The umbrella is overhead protection from falling bits of trees that I think the squirrels were tossing at me. Depending on the wind I may try the pool.

Mostly cloudy this morning. Looks like we may not see the sun till early this afternoon. Currently its 65F and the high will be around 81F. Might
not get that warm with the cloud cover. No rain expected today. We do need some.
Not sure what's on the agenda today. It is grocery day and both cars need a fill up. Other than that hopefully will be quiet.
Not a whole lot else going on at the moment. Just enjoying some quiet time with the dog till everyone else gets up.

I know that hurts! A few easy things that often help with night leg cramps are keeping electrolytes steady and hydration. I eat a banana every day and lots of green vegetables. Ive read that nuts and seeds can help too. If all else fails, maybe try some Gatorade. I wish you well. I love the photo, not the cramp.

Good morning. 72°F/70°F currently southeast of the Lou. Expecting sun later after noon and increased dewpoint. The windows will probably be closed and the A/C running by 1500 today if the sun shows up.
It's been a cooler three and a half days. Very unusual for late July here. And August heat is just around the corner.
Cards lost to the Reds 4-2 last night. Ho-hum game. No exceptional plays, one home run by the Reds. They will try again this afternoon, but I don't know if it is televised.

I love to hate the Yankees! But i have tremendous respect for them and I love their uniforms! Every MLB team has at least one (ugly) alternate uniform, but the Yankees are the famous exception.
The Yankees have two uniform designs that have been around for over 100 years!
Home: white with navy pinstripes - Haven't changed since 1915.
Away: gray with navy NEW YORK across the chest - First appeared in 1916.
Both have numbers on the back and no player's names!

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 80°, maybe headed up to 100° later on. The NWS missed it big time yesterday and it never got above 91° that I saw.
I took it easy most of the day yesterday. Spent over an hour organizing and filing digital photos on the computer. I am woefully behind on that; but I did get both January and February of this year done. The brief unexpected rain shower killed any outdoor projects, maybe a good thing, maybe not. But I used it as an excuse anyway. Nothing real pressing to do right now anyway.
My wife leaves this morning for a week-long visit with either/both of the daughter's families in the Dallas area. It's kind of a make up vacation for all of them, since they are not traveling together to the Texas Gulf Coast this summer like they usually do. I skip that vacation because while the girl-watching is enjoyable, I get no thrill out of sitting on the beach for hours on end like they do. I'd rather relax in the train shed when given the choice. I'll be OK, since I will be able to fix myself some non-Keto, self indulgent meals like chicken-fried steak.
Out in the train shed yesterday, I decided to do some maintenance on structures. I started with a laser-cut one that I got from Chet's Logan Valley layout. It's called Garner's Market and you may recognize it from some recent pictures that he posted. Here it is already over on the workbench.
It mostly survived the 1000 mile journey, but lost all of it's awnings during the ride.
I'm currently trying to re-form them to fit better. It has interior walls and floors which I don't plan to do anything with, due to it's location on my layout. I don't think that Chet did anything with them either.
The figures were all added by me, but the structure came with the fruit bins out front.
I also added the butcher scene out back, although I think that the barrels came along with the market.
Besides the awnings, my focus is on a couple of things that my environment caused, like the peeling up tarpaper roof edges
And warped trim.
Otherwise not much. I had originally had to glue back a few other pieces of trim when I introduced it to the layout a few years ago. They are all the "peel & stick" type. Matching his paint was a real bitch! I don't know who originally made this kit years ago, although I think that it came from the now shuttered American Model Builders. I have many of their other kits and I always liked them.

My Orioles have tacked on yet another loss to their already worst record in MLB for one-run games. Orioles 6 - Braves 7 Needless to say I am disappointed. Hall of Fame Orioles broadcaster Chuck Thompson used to say, "The true measure of a manager is his record in one-run games." I’ll just leave it at that.
Time to watch my man Tomoyuki “Tommy” Sugano earn his 10th win of the season against one of the best teams in MLB! Rockies 5 – Brewers 2. That’ll cheer me up. I can’t pronounce his first name, but I sure love watching the 36‑year‑old master work! Tommy is not overpowering, but he knows how to keep the barrel off the bal!

Not really. At the. 800’ mark it will widen for 100’ but not enough for non stop passing. The driveway is about 1600’ as we are entering from a different spot on the County Highway. Most of the driveway is through the trees and fortunately only 6 trees have to be removed and 2 culverts needed.
